We have just returned from a 7 night self catering holiday at Maribel apartments. As a Couple in their thirty’s with 4 & 8 year old boys plus Nan in late 60s. I don’t usually write reviews however felt compelled too after reading reviews before we came I was a bit unsure what to expect. From start to finish it was a fantastic experience. We booked with jet2. Airport and check in at apartment was smooth. The best holiday we have ever had. The apartment was clean and had everything you need. The staff were so friendly and amazing with our two boys and they work incredibly hard to make sure everyone is happy. I hope they get recognition for how amazing they are. Cala Blanca is Super chilled but plenty of options for places to eat/drink. We ate at the Maribel a few times and it was nice but a tiny bit pricey compared to other places. Kids ice creams/ drinks could be a bit cheaper but we get times are hard for businesses. There are other reviews about locals using the pool being an issue- we never found this a problem, they were always friendly & our two children made friends and played with the Spanish children which was lovely to see- everyone respected each other & it was really nice touch that they get to enjoy it as much as we did. The soft play, pool & tennis tables/ arcade are brill for keeping the kids entertained when they need a break from the sun. The pool does get busy at times but if you get up early and put your towels out you’ll be set for the day :) There is everything you need within a stones throw, restaurants (we love Jenny’s, restaurant cala Blanca on the beach front is really pretty at night & nice food, the raj Indian and the snack bar just down the road from raj all brill, no bad meals. There is a decent supermarket a 2 min (if that) walk with plenty of options, fresh pastries, fruit and baguettes which were AMAZING. We can’t thank the Maribel staff enough for a lovely week & can’t wait to return! Kind regards, Heap/Harris family :)

“Lovely short break in Cala Blanca”

We stayed at the apartments for 5 nights and overall we had a lovely stay. We stayed self catering and supermarkets on site were great. Some lovely restaurants on the doorstep and the beach only 10-15 minute walk. We walked to Cala Santandria and that was around 25-30 mins.. There are just a few ... more

We stayed at the apartments for 5 nights and overall we had a lovely stay. We stayed self catering and supermarkets on site were great. Some lovely restaurants on the doorstep and the beach only 10-15 minute walk. We walked to Cala Santandria and that was around 25-30 mins.. There are just a few things that let the apartments down in our opinion. The beds are not the most comfortable, the local residents take over the complex as the pool is open to all..they are not the friendliest either!! The service is poor if you are not local and there were many times we had to ask for our bill, ask for more drinks or order food. We also had noisy locals next door who thought shouting and singing at 1am was the way forward for two nights! We complained to reception and was advised they only have one more night left so left us feeling that it didn’t matter they kept us awake! I do have to say that Manda in reception gave us the most lovely welcome with lots of advice but as the days went by the service was poor and overall we would not return to these apartments. As it was just a short break it was fine… if this is a longer stay/family holiday, I would definitely choose somewhere else!

“Great apartments, shame about the pool ☹️”

Fantastic apartments, clean, modern, perfect location but the only problem was the pool. It is basically a lido so the gates are always wide open and anyone is able to come in and use it-and they do! Fantastic apartments, clean, modern, perfect location but the only problem was the pool. It is basically a lido so the gates are always wide open and anyone is able to come in and use it-and they do! It was very busy and, unless you get up early and put your towels down to claim your sunbeds, you will be lucky to find some spare. Such a shame as the people on Reception were lovely and helpful and Cala Blanca itself was perfect for us but, unfortunately, the issue with the overcrowded pool would prevent us from recommending or returning to Maribel apartments in the future.

“Mixed experience”

Stayed a week, two adults, two teens one tween. Pros; . Good sized, clean and minimalist apartment with nice balcony. . Nice pool . Excellent , quiet air conditioning in each room in apartment . Stayed a week, two adults, two teens one tween. Pros; . Good sized, clean and minimalist apartment with nice balcony. . Nice pool . Excellent , quiet air conditioning in each room in apartment . Staff happily gave us extra bedding and delivered an extra camp bed. . Near good restaurants next to sea . Two supermarkets on site . Next to a bus stop so easy and quick trip into Ciutadella . 15 minute walk to Cala Blanka beach ( beach very busy.) Cons; . Poor quality food if you’re half board. EG: over cooked eggs at breakfast , curdled yoghurts, undercooked meat, watered down orange juice, luke warm chips in evening buffet. . Breakfast and evening buffet food not covered at all, so lots of flies constantly landing on it. . Half board guests are only offered buffet for evening meal, not allowed to order from menu. The flies on the food put us off eating there at all in the end. . We asked for ice cream for desert and were told no in a surly way by the waiter as we were ‘only’ half board.
