Nice cheap getaway in a really good location, lots of shops and things to do, there is a train/bus or Ting Ting as we call it that takes you into Cala D’Or which I really recommend but the €5 ‘return’ route is in fact not return, save yourself money and get the €3.50 each way Bolero is the cheaper side so we wasn’t expecting amazing but the showers are awful, you either get boiling hot or freezing cold, no in between so if you’re staying here use the shower next to the gym!! 100x better than the showers in the apartment, got all you need here for all ages, good entertainment, food is what you expect for what you pay, no one would go hungry. I would stay here again if they fix the shower issue

On arrival at the hotel, very positive first impressions of the lovely grounds and well kept pool areas. Food in the buffet was fine - plentiful and good selection and what you would expect for a 3 star tourist hotel. The bar also was nice with pleasant staff but I can imagine that in high season, there would be long queues. Hotel was very close to resort centre with a selection of bars, restaurants, tourist shops and supermarkets and 2 beaches each only 5 minutes walk away. The lovely resort of Cala d'or is about a 25 minute walk mainly along the marina. However, I appreciate that we were there during shoulder season when the weather is not the best but very disappointed that the evening entertainment is lacking. Due to bad weather over 2 evenings, the entertaintment was cancelled and a quiz night put on instead on one evening and the second evening, planned Karaoke was cancelled and no entertainment at all. There was an indoor area that was under used by the pizza restaurant- just a TV on showing sport which could have been used as an alternative entertainment venue. However what we hadn't appreciated is that the Bluesea hotel is 3 hotels in one and Es Bolero has the oldest rooms which are very tired, dated and our room was dark. The so called terrace is effectively part of a large tiled walkway with plastic table and chairs outside though it was a charmless area where you wouldn't want to spend any time anyway. The housekeeping staff only seemed to provide fresh towels and didn't make the beds (not sure if they cleaned room or not). However on our last day, housekeeping was knocking to be let in 30 minutes before our vacating time and when I asked the maid to wait 10 minutes, she was walking up and down outside our room until we vacated. We didn't ask to for an alternative room as my husband overheard a guest making a similar request at reception and they were declined as the hotel was "full". If you stay here, opt for either Cases d'or or Martha's hotel all within the same complex but much nicer rooms overlooking the gardens and pool areas. The rooms and outside areas in EsBolero are very much overdue a refit and would not return to this hotel.
