“3rd time and not disappointed”

My partner and I visited Bluesea Club Marthas, for the 3rd year in a row. We were not disappointed. This year we stayed 1st Oct - 15th Oct, on a self catering basis. The weather was a perfect temperature for us. 24 - 27 degrees. Since last year the hotel has created an area for sun loungers. So there are plenty to choose from. Sadly, guests still feel that it's their right to reserve loungers. I would like this hotel, and in fact all hotels to tackle this issue. The kitchen, in the room, still comes equipped with cutlery, crockery and glasses for 4 people. There are enough pans and serving bowls to rustle up a mean for 4. There's a chopping board and tea towels are replaced frequently. The kitchen has a microwave oven with a built in grill. The hob has 2 rings. A kettle and toaster are provided. Just be careful when plugging these in, as the only available socket in the kitchen area is right next to the sink. The bathroom towels are replaced daily and the shower gel/shampoo, is checked to see if it needs replenishing. The entertainment team work tirelessly to do just that. Evening performances rotate weekly. Their version of The Lion King was particularly good. During the day, we did the much loved archery, pistol shooting and killer pool. My partner, in addition to these did water aerobics, yoga and stretching. Her only disappointment was that water aerobics wasn't available daily. Tamara was particularly good at the yoga sessions. My partner thought that they were well thought and fun. Tamara's water aerobic sessions were really good fun and engaging, she brought in various dance elements. Also, a shout out to Pablo, a bit of an all rounder - pistol shooting and archery. Like many, we enjoyed walking to the local beaches, which are small, but only 5/10mins walk from the hotel. Not forgetting, of course that the hotel has 3 outdoor pools, which are very nice. The marina is about a 25 minute walk. This is where the new Mercadona supermarket is located. It's a bit bigger than a UK Aldi/Lidl. The prices are very good and my partner was pleased that they did an even better gluten free range, compared to the local Eroski supermarket. As with our previous stays, the room is cleaned to a good standard. We have Rajah to thank for this. Rajah is always cheerful and is accommodating if we ask her to pop back later. This time we explored the local area, using public transport. We took the local bus to Drach Carves, Santanyi and Cala Mondrago. TIB.org is the website for the local bus service. Typically about 3.00 euros per person, each way. No need to repurchase bus tickets you just tap your credit card at the reader when you get on, and the same when you get off (same as Oyster Card on the London Underground) and you are then charged the correct amount, depending on the duration of your journey. If you are paying for extra people, then you tap once for each person that is travelling with you, and then do the same when exiting. The hotel offers great value for money, great location and it is well maintained. Needles to say, my partner and I have already booked direct with Bluesea for the same time, next year.

I have recently returned from a one week stay at this hotel, it was a nice break in a nice part of the island. There were positives and negatives for the hotel. I will start with the positives. The food was good, always a full plate as there was a lot of food that I liked. The plate always finished empty. Breakfast, lunch & the evening meal were always good apart from the Chinese night which was excellent. There was cava at breakfast every other day which was a nice touch. The entertainment was good and when there was a show which didn't look like my cup of tea, I could always go to a bar within a short walk from the hotel. The bar was good with Gordon's gin & San Miguel, this opened at 10am which again was good. Activities throughout the day were good, with darts, pool, aqua aerobics, archery, shooting etc. The swimming pool was very good, deep enough and well maintained. Now onto the negatives, There was a bar called Natalie's Bar, you had to pay if you wanted drinks from there unless it was raining. All utilities on & always fully staffed so it made no sense as no one was there. You had to pay for pizza which was not in the all inclusive. You had to pay to put your luggage in a locker, I just left mine by the locker as had nowt to rob. The bedroom was not very luxurious and was not four star standard. Paying a €1 deposit for each plastic cup was quite annoying. It was generally a nice stay but I will not be returning.
