We have recently returned from a weeks holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The welcome at 3 am was friendly, but not really any information was provided. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. We were in the main block overlooking the entrance. Breakfast was always plentiful and did have something for everyone. The view while your eating is beautiful. The staff were all super friendly and always offered help when needed. John especially seemed to be everywhere and always greets you with a smile. The pool by the breakfast area doesn't open until 12 but was very peaceful and relaxing. The main pool had a great fully stocked bar but did run out of Mojitos quite often. The snack bar had everything you needed. The club sandwich always filled the spot. Again, John tended to be here serving drinks and food. There were plenty of sunbeds, and it certainly paid off to be there out of season. If you're looking for a party, this is not your hotel. There are some great restaurants within a 10 minute walk in both directions from the hotel and the beach is about 15 -20 minute walk. However, it is a fair walk. I would highly recommend staying for a relax and recharge holiday. No real negatives that would impact your stay.

My wife and I are just about to leave Vistamar after a wonderful week! We'd not stayed at Vistamar or Portocolom before but we're attracted by the reviews saying it was ideal for couples who wanted a quiet, peaceful, stress-free holiday. We were not disappointed. The hotel is in a great position on the edge of the natural port, with views out to sea and the lighthouse. The staff were great, very welcoming but not overpowering. Maria gave us a lovely welcome when we arrived. John was great too at the pool bar. First impressions were of a relaxed, layed-back vibe. Decor is light, fresh and stylish. No bling! We were fortunate that our balcony had stunning views directly out to the lighthouse and to open sea. We could also see the harbour to our left, overlooking the second swimming pool and breakfast terrace. The room (514) was nice, clean, spacious with comfortable beds (singles pushed together). Having two pools is great - one with a bar, and the quieter lower one with views of the harbour. Portocolom is quiet with nice restaurants, coffee shops and small shops around the harbour. It's tasteful with no beach shops selling tat! There are no nightclubs or large rowdy bars. Cala Marcal is the nearest sandy beach. It's a 5-10 minute walk. A lovely place to sunbathe, swim and dive. Sunloungers are not cheap -17€ for 2 for the day, but come with small safe for money, keys etc. Good facilities, restaurants and beach shops. Again, not too tacky! Through the week we took a bus to Palma for a day and Porto Cristo for a morning, hired bikes from Bicillevant Portocolom at Cala Marcal for a day and cycled round the harbour to the lighthouse and S'Arenal beach which was nice, and hired a 15hp rib for 4hrs from Ivan at Na Pesqueta Charters on the harbour for €150 inc fuel. This is a must if you enjoy exploring beautiful coves and seeing the coast from the sea. Constructive criticism (only v small issues but could make a great hotel wonderful!) 1. No tea making facilities in room. However the staff were happy to give us a kettle and cups when we asked. 2. Breakfast was lovely - lots of choice and a lovely setting on terrace by pool. Dinner ok but only adequate. It lacks the choice of breakfast. Dining room is dated in contrast to the rest of the hotel, dark furniture and echoey, more like a canteen than a restaurant. Could do with some soft furnishings or ceiling sound absorbers. 3. Music! The local hits radio doesn't really go with the chilled pool-side bar vibe or the evening dining ! Maybe some cool Ibiza house would enhance the vibe? (Nora En Pure!) All in all, a great hotel, excellent staff and a beautiful environment. Thank you. We will be back!

“Lovely hotel with nice relaxing vibe”

Lovely hotel, but the resort was just too quiet for us. We went half board, but the food at dinner was poor. Little selection. We had yo eat out a few times. Breakfast however was plentiful and varied. Love pool areas and bar. Staff were absolutely lovely. Isabella was amazing, thank you. Y… more

Lovely hotel, but the resort was just too quiet for us. We went half board, but the food at dinner was poor. Little selection. We had yo eat out a few times. Breakfast however was plentiful and varied. Love pool areas and bar. Staff were absolutely lovely. Isabella was amazing, thank you. You are such a breath of fresh air. If you are going, go breakfast only. A wee bit to walk to the restaurants and few shops but other than that a lovely stay.

We came early October and we came for a relaxing break which in all fairness we got. The area was quiet. The room we we're given initially was at the back of the hotel so we decided to upgrade to a room with a sea view and I'm glad we did. Lovely view in the end. Food was awful in the evening, on our first night we had chicken which was raw - this chicken was cooked in front of us too so had no excuse to be this way. At breakfast it was slightly better but it was the same each and every morning - no variety at all and it became boring. The pool picture above is of the second pool which is over the road from the main hotel reception and this pool is generally quiet and relaxed but really cold. Gets colder when the sun goes behind the buildings too - we didn't spend much time in there. The other pool which again was cold had a bar next to it but we didn't spend much time there as there we're lots of flies about and it was irritating to say the least. The staff we're lovely and helpful, rooms we're clean and tidy and the beds we're comfy.
