My stay at the Jumeirah Soller Hotel in Mallorca was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled on a cliff overlooking the stunning Mediterranean, the setting alone is enough to take your breath away. The property itself is a masterpiece of minimalist elegance, with a design that is both luxurious and understated, perfectly blending with the natural beauty surrounding it. The rooms were immaculate and thoughtfully appointed with every amenity one could need. I particularly appreciated the delightful extra touches, such as the beach bag and sun hats provided for guests' use. Not to mention, the cake & card left in our room as I had noted in advance we were celebrating my birthday. These small considerations enhanced the overall experience, making it clear that guest comfort is a top priority. The staff at Jumeirah Soller were uniformly lovely, but Anna from the breakfast team deserves special mention. Her positive energy and dedication to personalized care truly stood out, making each morning a delightful start to the day. The breakfast buffet was abundant, offering a fantastic variety of options, and the a la carte choices were equally impressive. Enjoying breakfast outdoors, with the spectacular views as a backdrop, was a daily highlight. The adult-only infinity pool was another favorite spot. With stunning views and impeccable service accessible at the push of a button, it was a perfect place to unwind and soak in the beauty of the surroundings. The spa was also a haven of relaxation, offering guests access to a thermal pool, saunas, salt rooms, and more. Every detail in the spa seemed carefully thought out, providing a comprehensive relaxation experience. Using the e-butler service via WhatsApp was incredibly convenient. It made asking questions or ordering a taxi into Soller village (or elsewhere) effortless. Contrary to some reports on Mallorca, we found that getting a local taxi was both easy and reasonably priced. Some things to note: The hotel's cliffside location means navigating steps and elevators to reach your room can be somewhat complicated. This might pose a challenge for guests with mobility concerns. Additionally, better signage around the property could alleviate some confusion. One minor issue was the gap in food service between breakfast ending at 11am and lunch beginning at 1pm. Some casual options, like sandwiches or wraps, available during this time would be a welcome addition. An upscale “food truck” offering quick, casual bites might be a creative solution to this gap. These were only minor concerns and our stay was wonderful and well worth the splurge. The Jumeirah Soller Hotel offers an exceptional experience! The only thing that was hard to your finger on (for my group, at least) was even in all its “perfectness”, we had this “feeling” that that elusive “je ne sais quoi” that characterizes the very best luxury resorts was somehow missing. Perhaps this is due to its understated nature, which, while beautiful, left a slight sense of something more to be desired. Nevertheless, it’s a place of remarkable beauty and tranquility, perfect for a luxurious retreat.

“Best place to stay in Mallorca”

This is a nice hotel but at this price point, you have to get the basics right and the Jumeirah Mallorca doesn't. In simple terms, there are cheap and cheerful five star hotels all over Europe that do a better job. And that's unacceptable. If you want to understand more, I offer the following examples: -They failed to clean the room one day, simply missed it completely. They sent someone as soon as we mentioned it - but again, there are hotels for a quarter of the price and better facilities that never miss a room. -Gone 10am and customers around the pool were having to unstack the loungers and set them out. They were cleared the night before for an event and nobody bothered to reset them. Bizarrely the hotel did send two people to set them out, but they only did half of them and then left! -There was no hair dryer or toilet brush in our room. We let them know and requested an iron at the same time. The iron arrived but the guy said there should be a hair dryer in the room. "We've looked" we said. He said he would bring one. He didn't. We asked again and were told again there should be one in the room. We resorted to sending them pictures of empty shelves to prove there wasn't one in the room and finally, they sent one. The toilet brush did not materialise -Basic amenities in the bathroom are used and not replaced. We shouldn't have to keep asking at this price point. It's bizarre! -The shuttle to the port is a tiny van and frequently people are left behind. They always do another run, but for goodnessake, just get a bigger vehicle! -It rained, covering everything in a fine red sand. No problem there, weather is weather. However, two days afterwards the loungers, pool area and glass parts of the hotel had not been cleaned. Everything was filthy. -At breakfast there is a hot food stand with bacon, sausages, etc. But only if you're early, because it doesn't get refilled. And sure, if you ask the staff, they will order whatever you want, but again this just shouldn't happen at this price point. -At the sunset lounge around 6pm we had no reservation but asked if we could have a quick drink. There was one other couple in the bar. We stood there for several minutes while they thought about it. We told them we'd be no more than an hour max and would leave if they needed the table. They held a small consultation before finally allowing us in. We left an hour later - there was no one else in the bar. Just weird. -The three evening dining venues are all fine-dining affairs. It doesn't matter how well off you are, we all fancy a simple burger or bowl of pasta for dinner now and then. A hotel needs a normal restaurant option, no matter the price point. -Speaking of piece point the prices are eye-watering (45 euros for a tomato and Iberian ham starter anyone?). We know what to expect pricewise in a hotel like this, all we ask is that you don't take the p*** out of us. The meals cost less in the exclusive resorts in the Maldives - the prices here are an insult to our intelligence quite frankly. Especially when you won't even give us a toilet brush. -On arrival, the first thing that happened is that we were upsold an upgraded room. Either upgrade us or don't, but don't ask us to pay for an upgrade when we're already giving you thousands of pounds. We took the upgrade, but that move is just not classy at all. Bottom line, it's a nice hotel. But you will be frustrated and disappointed that cheaper hotels have better standards than the Jumeirah Mallorca.
