Hotel Illa d'Or, situated right by the sea at far end and quiet end of Port de Pollensa is now on our list of favourite hotels to revisit and we will certainly be returning. All the staff at this hotel give top notch service, they are so polite, patient and extremely helpful and accommodating as well as efficient and professional. Everywhere is pristine and there seemed to be an elegance of past years about the place that pleased us and helped us relax enormously, e.g. being able to repair to rocking chairs under the shade of a canopy (reminding us of the Caribbean) at the front of the hotel overlooking the bay, the numerous sun-loungers and the ease of being served a cool drink whilst sun-bathing just centimetres from the gently lapping waves. We loved the views and the ambience of this hotel.

“A great option for families looking for apartments with pools on the pine walk”

This is our second time at the Illa d'Or Apartments as a family and it was another fantastic trip. The apartments are clean, comfortable and spacious - there are no complaints about our room (which the front desk accommodated us the same as last year). Staff are helpful, friendly and professional. Housekeeping came every day and weren't intrusive and did a brilliant job of keeping the apartments in perfect condition. Wifi was good and had no issues. The kitchen area is well stocked (bottle opener included!) though it would be good to have a little more surface space but that's only minor. Santi the concierge was particularly helpful and friendly! The pool area is fantastic - the pool was always clean and a fantastic size for families with a larger shallow area covering about half the pool. The pool and loungers did get busy during the day (with the usual towel on loungers shannangians) but we found going later in the day usually had no issues. Note that the main pool at the hotel is adults only, so I suspect lots of the families staying in the hotel use this pool. The apartments and hotel are ideally located at the end of the pinewalk - we thoroughly enjoyed walking into town every evening and it always felt very safe walking back. The whole estate is really well kept and the refurb they have done in the main hotel is very premium. Only niggle really was at the main bar at the front - on pretty much all occasions we found the bar staff slow to take orders and a bit gruff (in one instance they forgot our order and when we repeated the order 15/20 minutes later there wasn't even an apology). On numerous instances, we had to actively get up to go get them to come take our order. As such, we actively avoided using the main terrace bar and opting for a drink elsewhere on the front which is a shame as the view is spectacular. We will be back.

“A really more than Five Star Plus hotel - the best experience to stay with them.”

An Absolutely First Class Hotel - the accommodation, facilities and food and drink areas are without doubt the most top class. The Staff are brilliant, always helpful, and always attentive. Without doubt the best on the island and a most memorable stay - there is nothing more needed .

The Illa D'Or hotel apartments are excellent. This was our second stay following our first in 2023, but we have visited the Illa D'Or hotel almost every year since 2000 so we know it well. The apartments are spacious and have all you need for a comfortable stay. The maids were excellent, they cleaned our apartment every day and were very friendly and efficient. The pool is large, modern and the pool robot cleaner at night was interesting to watch too. We would love to return again next year. The hotel staff are outstanding, given how long their working season is and the pace of work throughout a busy Summer they were so polite, welcoming and friendly from the start at reception when we arrived, right through our 2 week holiday until we left. At the outside hotel terrace the staff were equally brilliant, can't praise them enough especially Martin. The breakfast and lunches were super, compliments to the chefs and staff. Only had one poor experience in 14 days, on one evening in the 1929 restaurant, found the lady in charge at the restaurant reception definitely not as friendly towards us or other elderly solo guests, maybe a one off bad day for her, but we found this unusual as all other staff are 10/10 and really nice. Didn't enjoy the overcooked salmon or the sauce flavour, accompanying the salmon was only crisps like from a packet, which was very disappointing and a single slice of large carrot that was too tough to cut. The highlight was the pistachio ice cream at the end of the meal. None of five of us returned to the 1929 restaurant for dinner after that experience. This was surprising as all other meals at breakfast and lunchtime were faultless. That is the only reason I have deducted one star. We made good friends with the original terrace staff back in 2000, some of whom in later years returned to South America to get married and others retired after many years of service. The staff are wonderful, truly lovely hotel, so relaxing. Highly recommended
