This was our third vacation at Prinsotel La Dorada, and we have already booked again for October 2025. This hotel is a family's dream come true and really everything we are looking for in a hotel. It is remarkable to see the same staff every year again, truly a sign for an excellent management. Whether it is Mika, Helena or Ruben at the front desk, or the super friendly and fun staff at the breakfast (the wait for coffee is a bit of a bummer, however the staff make the wait for the kids so much fun!) or at the hotels own Pizzeria Pico; they truly make the stay memorable, we feel like family and it is great to come back. What I really love about this resort is that they use every winter for some minor or major renovations and touch ups; whether it is super cool kids pool with water trampoline and water playground added, or the newly renovated rooms; the addition of a small kids playground or that one of the pools is now heated; the resort is truly well looked after and not just a "cash cow", but they really strive to make every stay excellent. The foods is great (especially the Pizzas and Poke Bowls at Pico), the staff is amazing, the pools are beautiful, really beautiful rooms with very comfy beds, the beautiful sea is within walking distance; for us this hotel is a 10. Thanks to the whole team to making our stay so memorable!

This July/August, the Allen family travelled to Prinsotel La Dorada for the fifth time. There are so many thankyou's that my family and I would like to extend to you all but I'll be writing for days. Management. Manu and Marco thank you for your attentiveness, attention to detail, kindness and providing us with laughs! Marco, your rendition of Barbie on our last day was something we will never forget (whether we like it or not). You visibly go above and beyond every single day. Jacob and Millie absolutely adore you for everything you do. Thank you. Kids Entertainment. The team, led by Oliwia and Norbert, are absolutely sensational! They create new, fun and innovative activities for children of all ages every single day as well as relying on some staple and very popular activities. They also provide fun activities for adults to get involved in. I am definitely not competitive...... but if I, or anyone reading this might be, please try your hand at water polo! The 'Animacion' team work tirelessly with unending enthusiasm and charisma to provide our children with a fun and safe environment. They even choreographed and produced a rendition of The Lion King which would rival The Lyceum's Lion King Production any day of the week! It was superb! You are all very special individuals and I thank you for helping to create some truly brilliant memories for my family! "Mini mini disco! Mini mini disco"! Food. Exceptional. I am admittedly a bit of a food snob so I have to credit where credit is definitely due. The consistency of the quality and variety of the food every time we have been to Prins has been truly outstanding. I have to give a special shout out to the chef that makes the omelettes to order every single morning. He visibly takes so much pride in each and every omelette he serves up and my goodness they are delicious! Don't. Change. Anything. It works! Accommodation. We have stayed in every type of room. From the smallest to the biggest and we would happily stay in any of them again. They have a Scandinavian feel to them with their quality, simplicity and excellent utilisation of space. This year we were fortunate enough to stay in the penthouse/rooftop suite that was monumentally brilliant! Amazing views and an amazing space to relax and watch the sunset/sunrise. Receptionists. I love the fact that so many of the staff at Prins return to work there season after season. Tells you a lot about the quality of the workplace and managers that staff want to return! This is also apparent with the reception staff who are always incredibly helpful, engaging and informative. They have known the answers to every query we have had and if they haven't they have pointed us in the right direction. Bravo! The Pool. Always immaculate! Cleaned thoroughly every day by the grounds team. The pools are simple but cater to all. A heated section. A huge inflatable dome in the kids pool is an awesome new addition to the hotel. Location. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to one of the highest rated blue flag beaches in Mallorca. Crystal clear water. Shallow and safe for the children. Outside the hotel there is a stretch of different bars and restaurants with busses running to nearby towns. Manuel, Marco, Oliwia, Norbert, Laura, Patricia, Oscar, Maria, Rita, to name only a few - thank you thank you thank you! We are already planning our next trip to see you all! Spent a week with our 2 sons age 10 & 14 in July. On arrival, no-one to help with bags and a frosty greeting. Various signs around the pool saying not to leave towels to reserve sun loungers. Not seen a sign like this at any hotels we've ever stayed at before which had us somewhat concerned. The next morning we could see why these signs were up. People selfishly reserving sun loungers before breakfast and no-one at any point during our stay removing them. We headed to the lovely little beach most days which was a few minutes walk away and would recommend. Beautiful sand, never too busy and the sea a perfect temperature. It would have been nice to enjoy the pool we had paid for but it was over crowded every day and generally a loud, splashy experience in a tired pool needing some updating. Not our vibe or what should have been on offer at this star rating level. We booked a 2 bedroom suite. Clean and pleasant however, there were down points: the rooms were not at all soundproofed, you will hear every scrape of a chair, door closing, voices past your door etc. The safe was in a wardrobe in the children's twin bedroom which meant waking them to access it a couple of times. You would think that should be in the main double bedroom wardrobe. The main double bedroom wardrobe was so small you couldn't hang a dress or trouser full length. Whilst we like a firm mattress, the mattresses at this hotel were so hard I had to resort to sleeping on the sofa. Food across the board was very average. The main restaurant at the rear by the desert area had an awful sewage smell for the full week we were there. Mentioned it to staff a couple of times (you could not ignore this smell) but nothing done. Slow poor service in the restaurant and the pool bar - where staff didn't appear to know the hotels own menu. Service at reception was always frosty with a 'couldn't really care' approach. We wanted to book a taxi to the caves which was a shorter distance from the hotel than the airport. Lady at reception told me to wait for 30 minutes whilst she found out if one was available. She then advised me that it would be more expensive than a taxi to the airport. I pointed out to her the distance and she just said it was actually further and there was a festival going on meaning traffic and a longer route. I did not book this taxi through the hotel. I phoned a local taxi company myself and got a price half the cost with confirmation that there was no traffic or festival that would effect the journey. We happened to walk past the car hire place on the corner by the hotel and actually hired a car in the end. 30 euros for the day compared to the 130 euros the hotel quoted. To conclude: this hotel just was not the standard in accommodation, catering, amenities or service that we expect and have always found at this price point. Won't be back or recommending. Buyer beware if you have standards and are well travelled, this won't be the hotel for you.
