We went Half board and was Worried at first after reading food reviews, but was relieved that the negative comments were unjustified, some of the food was not always piping hot admittedly, but catering for hundreds of people must be difficult, we have stayed in 5 star accommodation in the past and same goes, we thought there was plenty of choice and always found something acceptable, some days were better than others, but never went hungry, People who have slated the hotel food, must be fussy eaters and should consider b & b or self catering, or hotels where the food is cooked to orde. Our experience overall of this hotel was Brilliant, very clean hotel, most staff we encountered were polite and friendly, room on 5th floor spot on, clean comfy beds, Stunning views, magnificent location, everything anyone needs for a great holiday all within walking distance. We only used the pool bar occasionally, but found the food and drinks were fine and priced surprisingly cheap for a hotel. Pool was excellent indoor pool and whirlpool good, I don't think some people knew how to activate the bubbles though from some of the comments, two pushbutton controls on the wall does the trick. Now for the negatives, and there is only one with the hotel, and that was the sun beds and not enough parasols, most need replacing, really uncomfortable. Now the other negative, is with 1 Joe public, a small percentage goes to the saddos who have to set their alarm clocks on holiday, who qué up to put towels on sunbeds to get the best spots really really sad, 2 small percentage of horrible people who have zero respect for hotel staff, talking to staff members who were just trying to help them, no manners or respect just rude horrible people, and this was on lots of occasions, dished out to bar staff, restaurant staff and reception, so for those who read this review and are thinking of staying at this hotel, I hope this gives you a truthful insight as what to expect.

Just returned from a week at the Santa Lucia as part of a Cruise and Stay with the Marella. This was our third visit to the hotel, we previously stayed in 2017 and in June last year. We love the hotel, the views of the two bays are fantastic. We had a room on the 7th floor which was well worth the extra and as a result had access to the pool on the roof which is more comfortable with no ridiculous scramble for the uncomfortable sunbeds downstairs. We both agreed that the food had improved this year, a good choice which was well presented. I think complaints about the food probably have something to do with people’s personal expectations of what good food is. I think I will leave it at that! Ignore the complaints about the ducks, they don’t poop in the pool! They are very tame and very funny! Happily having a swim and a sunbathe and pottering around the bar. Just like us really! The pigeons are more trouble to be honest. On the whole another enjoyable stay, a real chill out week after a busy cruise. We will be back.

Our room on 5th floor was great, clean,spacious with a great view from balcony. The food at the hotel was very good, plenty of choices,buffet style. The pool area was excellent, lots of sunbeds & parasols and the pool was a good size. The staff were very nice in the hotel too. The only thing I would have liked was a light outside on the balcony, as we are avid readers and liked to read a bit at night.

The food was as u expect on all in. Cooking cooked meat next to raw meat same gloves on using same tools. Food cold my husband was really ill while there. Had disks swimming in the pool so poop in pool in door pool jaquzi worked some times others not
