Our stay at this place started off excellent with assistance from Abba at the front desk. Was more than helpful and made it easy day 1. Pool, view, and room are spectacular. I wish the main pool was heated a bit more though as it is rather cold. Restaurants on-site were nice, and the food was mostly top notch. Inside pool was a nice touch as well. There was a few ants in the kitchen in our room and the shower head could be better however i was still quite pleased with the room and balcony. Rooftop area was very unique as well however once again cold pool. I was surprised by how many kids there were however they were mostly very young. Overall, we had a great experience, and i would recommend it to others.

“Fantastic for families”

Fantastic hotel in that my family and I have been going there for over 39 years . The management constantly upgrade the hotels areas every year. Beautifully clean brill location, close to all amenities but still has the privacy and great for families and couples. Been twice this year with family in August and again with my husband in October for my 61st birthday.

“Excellent overall, some tiny niggles.”

We stayed at Ponent Mar in late October in 2024 and although we haven’t returned to anywhere we’ve stayed, we’re strongly considering returning to Ponent Mar on account of how good our stay was. It’s perfect for a family, especially with half-board. ROOM: we stayed in a Superior Seaview Studio and were very happy with the room overall. Great views, the aircon was decent and we all got a great nights sleep despite our daughter being used to very quiet conditions. Towards the end of the vacation the AC wouldn’t cool the room as well as it did at the start - a tad strange. It would probably not cool the room enough during a heatwave, the hottest temperatures during our stay reached around 24 degC. You can even cook a basic meal in the room - we often had a light lunch in the room. The sofa bed was fine for our 3-year old daughter and we got it to fit next to our beds by moving them over a bit. The mattresses were a bit firm for us, but apparently you can ask for toppers as extra cushioning. The smallest niggles: the toilet was temperamental and would sometimes “run” but could be fixed by flushing again, the shower head could be bigger, the toilet sink wouldn’t drain properly and one of the bedside light switches was missing it’s knob. A suggestion as well: could a dimmer be installed for the bathroom lights, the lights are bright if someone wants to use the toilet during the night. MEALS/FOOD: We’re foodies and we both enjoyed breakfast and dinner very much. The evenings have different themes and there’s always plenty to pick from. Most importantly it’s all fresh and doesn’t sit long. They also cater to kids, so even picky 3-year olds can find something to eat. You’re allotted a beer or a bottle of wine with dinner if you have half-board. The only things we were missing during breakfast were strawberries, bananas and some other fresh berries, such as blueberries. HOTEL: The 3rd floor has a small gym, the indoor pool/spa (12-16 for kids) and a fairly priced minimarket. There’s gym equipment is a bit run-down but works and there’s only a single bench. The crosstrainer and other machines are only in Spanish, would recommend updating them to newer equipment that is also in English. To be honest I’d remove the crosstrainer and replace it with a treadmill instead. The 4th floor has the reception, lobby, restaurants and bar, pool access and is the ground floor. The 5th has the kids club, but all the machines require coins. The 9th floor has a rooftop terrace with a bar and a small pool and is off limits to kids. The main pool area is decent and accommodates everyone, although the hotel was probably not at full capacity during our stay. Entertainment was varied and good and mainly not too loud, although the evening entertainment might disturb those staying on lower floors. SERVICE: The staff were all great, polite and helpful. Can’t fault any of them and Juliet who was responsible for the entertainment was all smiles and fantastic with kids. LOCATION: The hotel is only 20-25 mins from the airport and located 5-10 mins walk from the Palmanova beach. The hotel offers private transfers at 52e in one direction, although you can get a taxi for a little cheaper. Plenty of shops nearby, but mostly tourist prices. There’s a large Mercado nearby in the opposite direction, only 5-10mins walk and regular local prices.

We regularly use TripAdvisor to choose our holiday accommodations and decided to book directly with Ponent based on its stellar reviews. Although this wasn’t our usual go-to resort for half term, it turned out to be a great choice. I travelled with my 7 year old daughter and 70 year old mum, and we booked a double room with an amazing sea view. Room was a little on the small side for us and we would book a bigger option should we return, but this was the only option left at time of booking. Some of the other rooms looked more ample in size and more suited to our requirements. The staff were exceptional—friendly, efficient, and always willing to help. The whole hotel was extremely clean, which we really appreciated. A special mention goes to the children’s entertainer who was fantastic with the kids. Unlike at bigger hotels, she didn’t need a lot of props; her enthusiasm and creativity kept the kids entertained, and they all bonded quickly. It was wonderful to see them having such a good time together. The indoor pool was a lifesaver on rainy days, and unfortunately the outdoor pool was too cold for us, which was a downside, especially when the weather was nicer - the children still managed to brave it though. It did affect the overall experience a bit, but thankfully, the indoor options helped make up for it. The food was generally very good. Breakfast had an excellent selection and was always plentiful. It did get busy, particularly on weekends and the rainy day when the outdoor dining area was closed. However, the staff were quick to find extra seating in the bar, which helped keep things smooth and frustration-free. The cosy atmosphere of this smaller hotel even seemed to bring guests together, making it feel more like a close community. We were half board, and ate dinner every night which was themed; a good selection and plentiful choices. The evening entertainment was ok, it was different every night and, whilst the children were kept entertained with playing and colouring, we were able to enjoy the music and chat in the bar area. Overall, Ponent provided a warm, welcoming experience that we’d be happy to repeat. Highly recommend for families looking for a friendly and enjoyable stay!
