No - this isn't a fairytale from Alice In wonderland! - the hotel rooms each have a cuddly little teddy bear, which served as an ideal wedge to make the wall-mounted television angle correctly so that it could be viewed from in bed. I told Per at Reception that I had inadvertently left Teddy squeezed behind the TV, and I hoped they would reinstate him to his shelf on the furniture, and maybe revive him with a marmalade sandwich. Talking of 'Bocadillos', the first-rate customer service offered by all the staff at Feliz was exceeded this visit by Bar Manager Alicia, who when I arrived late in the evening (thanks Ryanair!), she broke off from her own staff supper to find me a freshly made bocadillo de jamon, queso y ensalada. Bon profit! In the UK there is an expression, born from a TV advert for a brand of timber preservative paint: "It does exactly what it says on the tin". Hotel Feliz continues to serve the most comprehensive hot and cold buffet breakfast, regularly holds live music nights, barbecues, Chef's special menus and other events, and has all of the fully working resources one should expect from any four to five-star hotel. One could be excused for sniffing at the still quite run-down area of Palma called El Terreno, but add to the hotel's pleasant location only 150 metres from the EMT bus stops at Plaza Gomila, the excellent repertoire of customer services available, and the enthusiastic and efficient manner of all the staff: it does indeed perform as per the advertised description! My bill, which was impossible to calculate owing to some quite astonishing arithmetic, turned out to be two euros and forty cents more than I had been quoted by Booking.com. It was the most acceptable over-spend, and hardly worth even a mention!!

“Overrated and expensive for a 3 star experience”

We booked a standard room , which was tiny and overlooked the building behind and a back street ( no view of the sea). We booked a standard room , which was tiny and overlooked the building behind and a back street ( no view of the sea). Staff very friendly, breakfast is good, but the hotel isn’t 4 star as suggested on Tripadvisor. “International TV” does not include any English channels , no tea/ coffee facilities in the room ( available at E2 a cup to order- a bit mean , given the rack rate?) and the location, although on a bus route, isn’t walkable to central Palma or to any beaches This wasn’t value for money ( although Palma hotels are expensive) - next time we would stay outside Palma where better hotels, we have discovered, can be willing to negotiate rates outside peak season
