I visited this hotel with my partner during the offseason for a four day mini holiday, and we really enjoyed it. Our room was lovely, featuring a sea view and a huge balcony. The breakfast was delicious, and the room service was decent, they even offered to order food from outside if we got hungry at night. The hotel is in a quiet area, perched on top of a hill, which added to the charm. Public transport was excellent and very affordable, making it easy to get around. The location is central, making everything convenient. Overall, there’s nothing to complain about, great stay!

Staff on reception were very friendly and efficient and we were pleased to find our room was ready early when we arrived on our first day. We know that a lot of maintenance is done off-season, but nothing on the site alerted us to the fact that some of the facilities would not be as advertised. The outside pool was coned off - not really an issue in Feb - but the indoor pool, which we would have used, was gutted and being renovated which we were not told about either when booking or when checking in. Work was ongoing through the days replacing a lot of the windows to various rooms, which meant it wasn't quiet sitting on the balcony as when we were there they were doing the rooms on the side we were allocated. If you book a triple room and are in room 018, it is an accessible room with ramps and grab rails in the bathroom and is spacious with a relatively large patio, but a high wall and on the street side. But be aware that it is cited next to a noisy room that has fans or machinery running 24/7, which are clearly heard through the wall into the bedroom and was noisy enough to wake us up in the night. It took 2 nights of asking for a room move before we were able to have a peaceful night. We were then upgraded to a sea view room (very nice) with complimentary breakfast (nice, but not worth 20 euros per head!) for our final night which was appreciated, but the lack of sleep had taken the shine off the stay. The funicular is a welcome help to avoid the steps/slope to get from the hotel to the street level on the way to the shopping centre/restaurants. We had a very lucky escape as when getting back to the funicular one evening, my daughter lamented that we'd just narrowly missed it. Then we watched as it broke down halfway up the ramp (luckily empty!) and then was out of order for the next few days.
