“Very good hotel and friendly staff”

Very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are spacious and beds are super comfy. Food is good and good selection of drinks. Staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. Will visit again when returning to mallorca.

Staff is very friendly. Very hectic in the restaurant during peak times.

“Average, not 4 star worthy”

Visited palmira beach hotel for a 8 day holiday with my girlfriend. Going on a vacation was, due to our busy lives, a last minute decision so we didn't have much time to do some reading about different hotels. Based on the 4 star qualification we figured this as a no brainer. After a couple of days we were surprised to say the least. The building itself, the pool and the rooms are okay, decent and clean but a bit dated. It's like walking into 1993. The room is basic but big enough for two if you just want to eat and sleep in the hotel. The balcony has a poolside view. Nothing special but if you can, make sure you book a room with poolside view also. The road on the other side (frontside) of the hotel can be quite busy so if you're a light sleeper it may wake you up in the middle of the night. Entertainment stops at around 11 so you won't be bothered with that. Minifridge is not included in the room. It's possible to rent one for €30 per week which I think is ridiculous for a 4 star hotel. Same goes for a safe, not included and will set you back €15 for a week. Airconditioning on the other hand worked just fine. If you want clean sheets on your bed, make sure you put the small sign you find in front of your mirror or next to your bed on your bed, otherwise they won't change the sheets. Fresh towels are placed every day if you leave them on the floor and ask the cleaningstaff to make up your room. Pool is not very big but big enough. Enough beds but a lot of people occupy them while not even lying on them. Mallorca can be quite hot in the summer so the pool is nice and cold. I didn't mind but beware. There's another small pool inside the hotel but I wouldn't recommend that. Extremely hot inside so not very refreshing in the midst of summer. Like every other hotel they have a gym which means there are four hometrainers, a set of dumbells and a powerstation sp don't expect much. Didn't use the sauna so wouldn't know about that. Visitors of the hotel are about 95% German and half of that is over 50. Which brings me to my next point, the staff. The staff is quite friendly but practically only speak spanish and German. If you're lucky, your waiter speaks English but don't expect them to understand you right away. This is only funny the first day, after that it just gets annoying. You can barely order a cup of coffee in English! One evening, after asking our waiter if he spoke English he looked at me bedazzled and continued in Spanish. Not very '4 star' in my humble opinion. The food is fine but a bit boring. Breakfast is basically the same every day. Not many sweets, lot of egg/saucages/etc. Limited choice in breakfast cereal and the same fruits (pineapple, melon and watermelon) every day. Perfect to start the day but don't expect a lot of choice. Dinner is just plain weird. The food itself is okay but just like breakfast it's more or less the same every day (pasta, same salad every day, veal, pork etc). Expect a lot of german oriented food and nothing even remotely spanish. Sweets are factory made so they can be quite tasteless sometimes. The weird part comes when actually eating the food. The tables in the dining room are all the same size, big enough for 6. So what they do is this, the first time you visit the restaurant (breakfast or dinner) you're seated at a table and that table will be yours during your stay. The catch here is that they fill up the table. In our case that meant eating breakfast and dinner with four complete strangers! I would never ever expect something like this in a 4 star hotel. Really weird and I would even say an invasion of privacy. After all an okay hotel but not a 4 star hotel. Our stay was fine but eating with strangers, no fridge, staff not speaking proper English to name a few things are reason enough to make this a one time thing.
