My family—my wife, daughter, and I—recently stayed at Universal Castell Royal in Canyamel, and it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The staff's friendliness and helpfulness stood out, making us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of throughout our visit. A major highlight for me was the exceptional attention to gluten-free dining in the a la carte restaurant. The gluten-free signs on the menu were a real lifesaver, giving me peace of mind and allowing me to enjoy my meals without any concern. The kitchen staff reassured me that the food was prepared with strict gluten-free practices, and I felt confident that they were vigilant about preventing cross-contamination. This careful attention made my dining experience truly enjoyable and worry-free. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a day of activities. The food quality was outstanding, and I was delighted to find gluten-free beer available. Overall, our stay at Universal Castell Royal was exceptional, and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially those with gluten sensitivities. The hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction and dietary needs really sets it apart.

“A perfect getaway for couples and young families.”

We wanted 10 days away, somewhere warm and quiet and not have to think. And we found the perfect place. We wanted 10 days away, somewhere warm and quiet and not have to think. And we found the perfect place. We used the hotel transfer service, and, an hour from the airport, we were dropped off first and picked up last on return, and for only £56 for both of us! The rooms are lovely, not overly big but not necessary as the majority of our time was spent on the balcony. This provided a fabulous view of the sea so you could watch people playing and enjoying the beach at all times of the day, and of course, watch the comings and goings of the bus just 100 yards away and which provided fabulous access north and south of the resort. Everything about the hotel was lovely. Entertainment is only 3 times a week, which suited us but there were other places around that could be visited; bars on the beach, sports bar 100yds up the road and a couple of restaurants over the road, if you wanted livelier evenings. The very best thing about the hotel is the staff. Every single person smiled and said hello, whether at reception, at the bars, room service or cleaning the toilets - which happened a lot (the hotel is spotless!). There is a fabulous system where you can reserve sun loungers for €2 per day, and you could book for your whole stay. This was a game changer, no getting up early to reserve beds. I wish more hotels did this. A couple of things to be aware of. There were only a handful of British people so requests sometimes needed a little more explaining, which was fine. And English tea is a complete misnomer, however this was overcome by buying tea bags and milk from the store over the road and using the boiling/cold water machine in the corridor. Canyamel is a wonderful little resort with a lovely, very safe beach and a hidden gem, the most wonderful caves. Make sure you go. Worth a visit at €16. We went all inclusive and would recommend this as such good value. Will most definitely come here again. One of my most favourite holidays.

“Good hotel”

Friendly and super clean hotel. Food is excellent and a good choice for everyone. Predominately German guests and the resort is very quiet but was perfect for what we wanted. Rooms are nice , could do with tea and coffee facilities but apart from that this hotel is lovely and sat right on the beach… more

Friendly and super clean hotel. Food is excellent and a good choice for everyone. Predominately German guests and the resort is very quiet but was perfect for what we wanted. Rooms are nice , could do with tea and coffee facilities but apart from that this hotel is lovely and sat right on the beach. Ensure you prebook a sunbed as you have to book and pay and are unable to move the sunbed as you are allocated one. We were lucky as got the last two when we arrived but we were not notified prior to arriving at the hotel.

“Nice holidays but not come back”

Canyamel is pretty and calm. The hotel is nice and clean. Beatiful view on the see and beach. The room with see view is ward his price.The staff is friendly and helpfull.The food is not good and the service in restaurant is weak. The service in bar is beter and girls work hard.
