Lots for our kids, 4&6, to do - Water slides, kids club, playground, mini disco and trampolines(extra cost). Food and drinks were generally good including slushies on tap - tho not always completely frozen. The downside that stops it getting 5stars is the sunbed situation. There are not enough and a lot are taken by towel blockers not actually using them except for an hour or two. The dinning hall can get very busy and have queues to get in and queues for the actual food that block other food options. If you don't mind the extra walk(or make use of the minibus), the further larger beach is so much better than the closer one.

On first impressions we thought this holiday may have been a mistake as some areas of the hotel really could do with some refurbishment but we got into our room which was clean and spacious and far enough away from the evening entertainment although we could still hear it. Previously when we have gone on all inclusive holidays the food is usually a bit of a let down but I have to say the food was fantastic, plenty of choice for adults and kids, replenished often and really tasty. My only gripe of the hotel would be the pool was freezing and so the kids and I did not get in the water until 3 days before we were going home. I think in the early months of the summer it would be wise to heat the pools as trying to keep a 7 and 4 year old entertained all day was a mission. The kids club was some light relief and our kids enjoyed going there for a few hours. You have to pay a daily charge for use of the hotel towels so I would advise bringing your own if you have the space. We got the free shuttle bus to the beach which was a nice change and had some lunch out. There are bars and restaurants a short walk away from the hotel so we ventured out on a few evenings.

We recently went here on the week leading up to the end of season and here’s my honest opinion. There’s some doom and gloom reviews I’d ignore them. But you can find fault if you look for it. We personally had an amazing experience. We upgraded to an apartment after two days as the hotel was emptying. This in future if we were to return would be our choice of accommodation. There was just more room. Take a fire stick with you is my tip. You can flick language on some channels but limited to couple really. Another thing I want to say on accommodation is we got an email survey day 2 and I thought it was just to humour you but I commented that could do with more pillows and when we returned there was a selection added so this to me showed they care. Food next and this was the only thing that we would change. The food is good and edible but not a massive range and I think it’s been mentioned it’s busy. Very busy. It’s a big hotel and everyone wants food. The staff handle this amazingly as soon as a plate is empty it’s gone. They really keep on top of everything. What added to our issues was on the last two days there was a oap keep fit style thing and 600 plus Spanish oaps where there on top of the tourists. This got a bit much for dining so we bailed on them nights and went to the village/town centre and ate. The most amazing and handy thing was the snack bar I think I was addicted to the pizza and the iced tea. Entertainment was good “lolo” was my sons and my favourite lol. The bar staff are hard workers and look after you well. The pools were good. Kids pool entertaining my son for the week and next year there is a new splash park on top of that. Oh one last thing. Although there is a transfer to the beach. If you can walk well and don’t mind. Just walk there and get transfer back as on a few mornings we saw arguments about who was waiting first and all that. It’s not the end of the world it will return straight back if you want it or just walk. Don’t get caught up in the anger and impatience. We walked out the back gate and through the woods at the end(stroking every stray cat in there on the way) and you are down by all the shops. I have written a long review for me here but feel the hotel needs it as some reviews are focused on some skirting boards needing painting. Or as mentioned the busy dining,or arcade machines not working sometimes. These things are true but in no way spoil this holiday. It’s kept clean. The staff smile and help. And I want to see Lolo again 😂

The pros: Great food - for an all inclusive the food was really tasty. Plenty fresh salad, olives, pasta, pizza and never empty trays. Desserts ok, mainly the usual sponge with faux cream type, but if you were fast, you might get the better ones before they were all gone. Pleasant staff, polite and extremely hard working. Pools: great for kids. Choice of 3 and never a shortage of sun beds or parasols. The cons: Poor location - I wouldn’t return to Calais de Mallorca - prefer other areas. It’s a bit rural and too hilly to get to the beach without using the bus (the hotel transfer to beach is always very busy, end up walking and it’s quite an uphill walk on way back. Lifts - the lifts in each hotel building are ridiculously small (literally 3 people in them, or one and 3 cases) and most of the time they were broken. Or rather scarily, didn’t let you out at the required floor and you had to keep hitting buttons to get to a floor where the doors would open. This scared my daughter so much when it happened to us that we had to take the stairs the rest of the holiday (8 flights). Many people coming out the lifts were saying it happened to them too. Tired rooms and the water stinks. After a shower, the bathroom smells of sewers and the wet towels smell disgusting. The hotel is quite old and needs a bit of tlc. Bed was ok but the tiniest pillows ever. No room to move in the bedrooms and no surfaces to put things. Far too small for a family of 3 in one room (2 adults and child). Poor entertainment; could be as nearing end of season, but it was quite poor. One night was a quiz but only the 4 people selected to go on stage could participate! Kids disco was repetitive and not really enough space for it. The hotel has these weird kids rides all the way around the bar area (about 20 or so) the type that you need to put 1€ in to work. But 90% don’t work and swallow your cash. Ridiculous they charge for this in first place. Also bungee ride but it was 6€ a pop!
