Hotels and accommodation in Cala Ratjada

Cala Agulla is located 11 miles away from Capdepera. This beach,together with Cala Molto and Cala Mesquida were declared  Natural Area of Special Interest by the Balearic Parliament in 1991. This fact explains why this coastal area has not been developed, and is well preserved, surrounded by huge thick pine trees. This small bay is surrounded by low rocky areas and covered by a very fine grained sand, being the largest sandy area of this urban area. Its size might be larger or smaller depending on the sea currents and the moment of the year: if the wind blows from the west, the swell makes the beach grow, whereas if it blows from the east or north, the opposite happens. The nearest port is the Club Nautico Cala Ratjada. The accessibility by car is easy. You have to take the deviation toward Cala Agulla on the road between Capdepera and Cala Ratjada, ending in a paying parking area

Cala Gat is located next to sa Torre Cega, about 1. 24 miles away from Capdepera. The village was built in the seventies. Nowdays there are some holiday houses and a small hotel.Sa Torre Cega was a fortress to alert from the Moor pirate attacks in the 16th century. In 1911 it became the Palau den March, that can be visited. The wealthy March family made of this tower a museum, with an exceptional collection of 40 sculptures and a 231.66 sq.mi botanical garden. This beach is a small quiet and beautiful sandy area, surrounded by tamarisks and palm trees,with transparent water  invites you to swim.The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nautic Cala Ratjada.The accessibility by car is easy following the signs until the lighthouse of Capdepera. From here you have to take the steep deviation toward the cove. You can park your car for free and  reach this beach by foot, it is a pleasant walk from the port of Cala Ratjada.From Cala Gat you can visit sa Punta des Faralloor Cova des Castellas.

Cala Molto is situated at 1.86 miles from Cala Ratjada. This beach,together with Cala Agulla and Cala Mesquida were declared  Natural Àrea of Special Interest by the Balearic Island Parlament in 1991.This quite small coastal and nudist area is located behind Punta des Gullo, and it has a characteristic shape and a rocky ground. This natural setting is only spoilt by some boat ramps and a  Civil War bunker, the rest takes the visitors back to the paradise of quiet isolation surrounded by some pine trees shaped by the wind.The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nautic Cala Ratjada.The accessibility by car is easy. You have to take the deviation toward Cala Agulla on the road between Capdepera and Cala Ratjada, which finishes on a pay parking area and you must walk 0.31 miles to the beach.From Cala Moltó you can take a 6.21 miles walk between pine trees and scrubland toward Cala Mesquida.

Capdepera is a historical village just 4. 97 miles away from Arta. Originally there was a watchtower which was used to guard the coast.  Nowdays  stands  the Castle of Capdepera In 1300 James II of Aragon ordered the construction of a fortified village to control the uninhabited land below and the maritime routes with Majorca.For centuries the town survived behind its walls protected from pirate attacks. As the danger of such attacks disappeared residents of the walled town started to relocate themselves at the bottom of the hill which lead to the development of modern day Capdepera. The better known town of nearby Cala Ratjada actually developed as the fishing and trading port of Capdepera and to this day operates a ferry service with neighbouring Minorca.

Es Carregador is located at 3. 10 miles from Cala Ratjada, on the opposite of Punta na Baixa and in front of the sea inlet that leads to the cove of n`Aguait. This piece of coast is formed by four coves with coarse gravel and some sand, hidden behind a barrier of tamarisks, that reach the coastline with rocks and  greenish and bluish colours seaweed. These coves are also used as landing ramps for small boats. The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nautic Cala Ratjada. The accessibility by car is rather complicated if you do not know the way. You can park the car by the ramp and from there you will start a 0.31 mile walk along the coast until you reach the first cove, the rest of them follow each other. It is recommended to use the public transport because the nearest bus stop is situated at 0.31 mile away from the coast. You will pass some small houses and some old holiday houses, built decades ago. From es Carregador you can start a short walk to the port of Cala Ratjada. It is a distance of more or less 4.97 miles return along the coast.

 Son Moll is located 1.24 miles away from Capdepera and it is the nearest beach to the Cala Ratjada centre, with a high influx of human presence and development. Cala Ratjada is one of the first touristic resorts of Majorca and one of the most important fishing harbours. In the surroundings there is Cap de Capdepera, where you can find a lighthouse with breathtaking panoramic views and sa Torre Cega from the 15th century, where there is the Palau d`en March  a museum, built by the wealthy March family in 1911, with one of the best sculpture collections in Europe and a wonderful 645.83sq ft botanical garden. This beach is a wide sandy area surrounded by tall touristic buildings which were built in the fifties to replace the small old summer houses. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The problem is finding a place to park your car. It is recommended to use the public transport. There are nearby bus stops.

Sa Font de sa Cala is situated at 3. 21 miles from Cala Ratjada. The name comes after the sweet water source which is located in the surroundings, although there is another underwater flow,  that provokes that the sea water around here to be colder and not so salty. This touristic and residential beach, between low cliffs, has been artificially re generated, it is quite big now and has no pebbles anymore, but a fine grained sandy area. On the right side there is a canal that closes the beach, and on the left side there are some pine trees. The water is calm and not very deep. The hotels in the surroundings have been built between two villages of holiday homes, Cala Provensal and es Carregador. The nearest port facilities are located at Club Nautic Cala Ratjada. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. At 32.80 feet from this sandy area you will find the nearest bus stop and there is even a touristic mini train that can take you to Cala Ratjada.
