We came here 3 yrs ago with our 4 yrs old grandson and we’re really impressed. We came back with a 7 yr old and 2 yr old twins. Once again a fantastic experience. The hotel is very well run and spotlessly clean, very friendly staff. The rooms have been refurbished since last time to a very good standard. The pool scene is excellent with plenty to do for the kids, great animation team and kids club. We have been self catering and eaten out each night at very good restaurants very close by. We started buying provisions at the SPAR which is 2 minute walk away but found it to be extortionately expensive. There is a small supermarket just 5 minutes walk away (out of hotel turn right then straight on) which is 20-30% cheaper depending on what you are buying. Highly recommended for a family holiday with young kids. Now looking forward to restful holiday without the grandkids 😎🤭, only joking we have loved our time with them and will have great memories

Just returned from a lovely stay here. Tui reps and all staff were so hard working and really make this place. My kids loved the air bubble in the pool and all the activities. The whole place was spotless. The food generally was good. The juice at breakfast was watered down though and we didnt enjoy any of the puddings. They all seemed quite synthetic. My children are 5 and 6. I think this is catered more for toddler ages personally. They were too tall for the pirate/splash park but had a great time non the less

Just returned from our stay at Protur Bonaire. Overall experience was pleasant. Would say 6/10. The hotel itself. The rooms are very modern and clean. Newly refurbished, the room sizes are great. We were in block 4 room 4101. We managed to fit in x2cots in the bedroom area to accommodate our young children 2 and 1 years. Lovely balcony overlooking the main pool area. The sound from the entertainment was quite loud at night with the balcony door open, entertainment finished around 11pm, which was fine. Hotel location is near a Spar and a few restaurants/bars around the harbour 10min walk, around a 25/30 min walk into Cala Millor beach front and shops. A lot busier in Cala Millor. A nice flat walk to take prams. Facilities The swimming pools and entertainment was great for our kids. Mini disco and children’s entertainment. The entertainment staff were great at interacting with them and playing games, would say it was aimed at younger children. Soft play area and a few play parks for kids to run around. Kids slide pool with loads of aquatic themed slides. Always free loungers with brollys and chairs at pool bars. Food Food and drinks would be the biggest let down of this hotel. We are not fussy in the slightest and could always find something to eat but the quality was not great. Breakfasts was good for variety. Cooked breakfast, omelettes, crepes, cereal, fruit etc. Lunch was not great. All meats seemed to be ultra processed. Kebab, hotdogs, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, mixed meat burgers and chips. There would usually be a pasta option and pizza but even the veg options would be deep fried in batter. The burger and hot dogs rolls always seemed stale at the poolside bar. It was fine for the first few days but soon became a bit repetitive. Dinner had a lot more options with theme nights. But again the quality of the food wasn’t there. We ate out a few nights and noticed the difference from the food quality. Drinks were definitely watered down, the beer went flat quickly and the cocktail options were choice of x3 different slushies. Did not feel tipsy even after a few. Outside the hotel the drinks were again noticeably a lot stronger. Fanta also didn’t seem like branded Fanta. Tasted more like orangeade. Staff The waiting staff and bar staff were so friendly. They were always friendly to our kids and said hello. They work so hard to keep the hotel looking clean and catering to all the guests. They were very efficient at serving drinks and making sure you had a table at mealtimes. I would recommend this hotel to families with small children. The all inclusive was okay but did get a bit repetitive, there are loads of local options nearby for food if you wanted something different to break it up.

“Issues following hotel refurbishments”

Overall we had a decent holiday but we had a number of issues in the hotel hence only rating 3 stars instead of 4, this mainly due to refurbishments and an issue with the activity pool which needs investigating. We stayed in room 2105, on our first day we had a shower leak which flooded the floor. We rang reception who came and fixed it asap. Shortly after, we tried to plug an adapter in and it tripped the electricity, and stopped us accessing the tv etc. Again the same person promptly came to fix it but it wasn't until later in the holiday we realised it was a dodgy socket so had the same issue. We informed reception who said did we want it fixing now and we said we're about to go home now so no urgency from our side..so I do hope that its been fixed. Also on our arrival there was a soaking wet towel in the fridge. We took it out but we didn't realise the fridge hadn't been turned on so we lost some food we had put in. We presume we were the first guests to stay in that room as these issues should have been checked/resolved. Its important to note the cleaners only work 5 days of 7. On the Monday of our stay we realised the cleaner had taken away two of our three large bathroom towels. We rang reception to ask for more and they said a cleaner would bring them up. 24 hours later we were still waiting, the next day being a non "cleaning" day, therefore I had to go to reception to go and ask for some more which was mildly frustrating. Our other main issue which is of high concern is that my partner suffered two cut big toes in the activity pool. The following day when a group of people were playing water polo, three men all suffered exactly the same issue with their big toes which the lifeguard lady on duty helped to bandage all of their feet up. As far as I could see nothing was done after to check if there was anything sharp in the pool, despite us telling them it had happened with us the previous day. The jacuzzi also didn't work during our stay, we saw other people try with no luck, and seemingly the sauna was also closed, however I have since read on another review you needed to go to reception to request a key, same as the gym. There was also some issues with the left lift in block 2. On arrival with all of our suitcases we lost around 15 minutes on a lift not working, two members of the restaurant staff actually helped us and said it often didn't work. We noticed a lot of people during our holiday were met with a porter who took their luggage through the resort, sadly we didn't receive that treatment, perhapd we needed to request it? Otherwise we enjoyed our holiday, we enjoyed the entertainment in the day and evening. A special shoutout to Mercedes & Ana who were particularly friendly and fun and made lasting impressions on our daughter. We enjoyed the table service in the evening while watching the entertainment. The pools were nice and reasonable temperature. Aqua aerobics was great and party songs in the pool at 4pm were a real highlight of the day. I've never seen so many people join in dancing both in the water and on the sides. The big bubble slide is a great attraction too. We only ever ate at the restaurant, we enjoyed breakfasts and dinner. Lunch wasn't the most interesting, definitely better at other hotels we've been too. Want to give a shoutout to the lovely Manuel who was always so friendly and great with children. We really enjoyed the Italian restaurant too, lovely food, great portion sizes and good service. We took a taxi to Calor Millor beach which was lovely, watch out for dodgy taxi drivers though as after picking us up directly from the beach, at drop off he tried to force us to pay extra due to a small amount of sand in the back seat saying he would need his car fully cleaned. Surely if you pick up a family with buckets/spades you know there may be some sand...we did not give him any extra! Otherwise, hotel is located well, a short few minutes walk to a nice scenic view over rocky beach, shops, restaurants and boats. Our transfer was around 1hr 40 on the way, less time on the way back. Most people we met on holiday were very friendly, there were a few smoking around the loungers which wasn't pleasant. Hotel staff were friendly, reception kindly gave me plasters on arrival as I had cut my leg badly at the airport. When I had told a Tui rep on arrival they had said it was "only" a 20 minute walk to the nearest pharmacy which indeed was factually correct from what I had asked but after a super early start & travelling all day with a young family and blood all over my leg, a bit of concern/help would have been welcomed. In summary I feel if we had been on holiday a month later perhaps most of these issues wouldn't have happened so perhaps we were unlucky but it is unlikely we would return here again.
