Myself and my wife had a two week all inclusive holiday at the Hotel Sumba and we consider it to one of the best holidays we have ever had. The position was great, with great sea views, and convenient for the main shopping areas locally, with bus and taxis easily available. The hotel itself was easy going, very little restrictions except the usual ones to keep the guests safe. The hotel amenities were very good, with a gym, indoor and outdoor pools and a sauna, and if you felt energetic a football/volleyball and tennis court available. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas were available, we never had a problem finding one when we needed one, and with the poolbar close, we never wanted for a cooling drink. Food at the hotel was excellent, varied meals every day at dinner, and food was available all day practically, from breakfast to late breakfast, then dinner, followed by afternoon snacks and cake, which took you up to the evening meal. It was great to see all the fresh fruit on the menus, no tinned fruit at all, the meats and fish dishes were excellent, an included sea bass, suckling pig, terrific spare ribs among many, and also many fresh vegetable dishes, and also a show cooking area serving freshly cooked meat, fish, squid and pasta among other foods, also there was a separate servery with a selection of typical Mallorcan food every evening. The dining room staff were very pleasant, always with a smile and a word, and nothing was too much trouble, Annabelle and Semina were stars, looking after us nearly all the time. Possibly the only problem we had at time was that all the dishes were marked up in German, and with my wife being vegetarian she had to ask a lot of the time if the dishes contained hidden meat, and sometimes Google had to help also - spamferkel comes to mind (suckling pig) The holel has predominently German guests, but be did not find that much of a problem, with my pigeon Geman and their pigeon English we met some lovely people, and had some great times, the only downside was the evening entertainment took some understanding, but we were out most evenings that didn't trouble us too much. Our room was comfortable, and with the efficient air conditioning and the large ceiling fan we were kept comfortably cool and we had a lovely view of the sea and nature reserve in the area. All in all a great holiday, and hopefully we will return, the only downside was as soon as we checked in we had to pay a tourist tax of seventy two euros, but that is a Government tax, nothing to do with the hotel.

This was our second visit to the Sumba. The last one was about 5 years ago.Despite breaking my ribs a day earlier I am glad we did not cancel. The hotel is at the far end of Cala Millor and away from the main center so was very quiet, which suited 2 pensioners 68 and 79. The best thing was the food .A good choice at all sittings. The evening dinners with duck, turkey, prawns was very good. Also the grill station. The restaurant service staff were as good as the cleaners. Cava from 10 am very nice.San Miguel beer on tap good.Animation was OK: Down to the left the best music bar Cafe del Sol ,live music every night, free entry and good prices.See the Black Cats if you can, a great rockabilly band.Back to my review.A clean hotel, nice polite staff. We would like to thank Jesus, Maria, and the other barman whose name I forgot sorry, but he was the biggest and had tats on his arm, also the reception for a quick check in and out. Also the English maintenance man from England, who probably was the only English person in the hotel except me.Yes it is German orientated and I discussed this with the director about the music etc. He welcomed me within 5 minutes of my request at reception ( usually in Spain it is manana ,I know lived there 12 years in Tenerife ) I had a few issues which were addressed at once by the director Leandro and think he took on board. Also would like to thank you for my birthday present delivered to our room.I hope I have praised everyone whose name I can remember. And if you want a good curry the Kooinor. Also Porshe boxter hire is good. I am in no way affiliated just a few tips, oops caves of Draches. Finally in Spanish. Mucho gracias Leandro para una vacation muy bien. Hasta proxima . Margrit y David.
