Just returned from a week here and had a great time. We stayed here back in 2014 when the hotel was under a different name and it does seem like there have been some slight renovations/improvements made. We had a 1 bedroom apartment, Perfectly adequate in size. The bathroom was clean and relatively modern with a large shower cubicle. The living area had a small kitchennete with all the essentials and also a fridge which had a small freezer draw too. The apartment had Aircon which was perfectly adequate - although it was May so i can't say how well it would cope in the hotter months. staff on reception on the few interactions we did have were brilliant, Always helpful and polite. We had a south facing balcony over looking the pool/bar area which was nice. the Pool area seemed to have more sunbeds than the last time we stayed and whilst the hotel was busy we never struggled to get a sunbed when we decided to go to the pool. The pool area itself didn't open until 10:00 am and we didn't seem to have issues as nobody (bar one couple) where reserving sunbeds etc. Pool itself was a good size and clean, There is also a smaller pool outside one of the other hotel blocks but that is a very small area and we didn't use it. My only negative - and i've chosen not to mark down my review - because ultimately it is a seperate business, is to do with the "tropical garden" pool bar. It became apparent to me that this is a seperate business to the hotel, and i get the feeling that they actually own the swimming pool and must have some sort of agreement with the hotel to allow/ "tolerate" guests using the pool. However, the first thing you are greeted with when walking into the pool area is a large sign stating that "GUESTS MUST NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING THAT HAS NOT BEEN PURCHASED AT THE BAR OR YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE" - not only did i find it quite passive agressive, but given the high prices of the tropical garden for even small drinks/snacks it was an added cost we didn't want. We found ourselves having to go back to the room whenever we wanted a quick drink or snack. I think the hotel should probably make it clearer when booking that the pool area isnt owned by themselves, As i do feel like we missed out by not being able to just relax and bring our own drinks/snacks or ice creams to the pool area like you would any other hotel and it was a source of frustration. There is a lovely ice cream shop right next to the hotel that we couldn't have round the pool for example. We did have a few drinks in the Tropical garden in an evening to watch the entertainment but the prices for drinks are probably the most expensive in Cala d'or. We even found cheaper drinks on the harbour restaurants and bars! We ended up buying drinks from a supermarket and would sit on the balcony instead to watch the "entertainment". We noticed one night that the owner of the Tropical Garden was actually telling one of the entertainers/musicians off because he was interacting with hotel guests watching from their balconys. The owner clearly doesn't appreciate having hotel guests "freeloading" and watching his entertainment. I also witnessed one family staying at the hotel being asked to leave because they were sat at a table quietly watching the entertainment but hadn't bought anything. So , my advice is to avoid the Tropical Garden if possible. It's a seperate business to the hotel and they won't have any time for you unless you are lining their pockets paying the extortianate drinks prices. otherwise a great stay. location is also superb, only a few mins from the beach and the main centre of cala dor, and also a short walk away from cala ferrera/esmerelda with more restaurants and bars. also a recommendation for "la fontenella" restaurant which is just on the corner outside the main entrace to the hotel. Great food and very reasonable prices. We will be back!

We had a fabulous stay couldn’t recommend the Ola Hotel Cala d’Or highly enough. Great location beach 3 minutes and restaurants 7 minutes stroll. Lovely bar area with entertainment every night. The apartment was well equipped very clean and serviced regularly. We request a large apartment near the pool as one member of our party required assistance and we go a beautiful apartment over looking the pool and bar. The kindness shown to us by all the staff was amazing. Special thanks to Jaime for his help and assistance in relation to our booking and to Paco, Jose and all the staff who made our stay truly memorable. Looking forward to returning again soon.

“Excellent clean apartment”

Excellent apartment close to all shops restaurants and beach,balcony looked onto pool area and tropical gardens with the entertainment each night..couldn't fault it..Will deffo recommend and return 😊 kitchen was well equipped,and comfortable beds,

Negatives: We arrived the room had a strong vinegar/sewage smell, this aired out after a few hours with balcony doors open. Negatives: We arrived the room had a strong vinegar/sewage smell, this aired out after a few hours with balcony doors open. Room was not cleaned although the cleaners had logged at reception tayt they had exchanged fresh towels/cleaned. Guests not permitted to sit at tables for evening entertainment unless purchasing drinks at the bar, yes we saw guests removed from the bar for not buying anything. Mixer starts at €10 kids mocktails €8.50 so very pricey for average entertainment and setting however this is a separate business from the hotel, hotel rating would beneit from investing in the bar area themselves and making improvements. Pool area is exposed concrete, hot surface and not the safest for kids. Bird poor on sunbeds which was not checked or sanitised by any hotel or bar staff. Parking is a €5 per night fee. Self catering better to watched evening entertainment from the balcony. There is not freezer, fridge only so no ice for drinks in the room. Positives: Spacious rooms and balcony plenty of sunlight. Room equipped with kettle, hairdryer & toaster. When I returned a heavily scratched Teflon pan to reception, someone went to buy us a brand new non-stick pan. Immediate warm running water, walk in shower has two jet settings. Couple minutes walk to cala gran prestine turquoise water bay. Near by supermarket, bakery and shops. Two male Reception staff were very helpful and polite, arranged us a late check out, supplied me with tape to decorate room for a birthday with complimentary cava. Swimming pool is perfect temperate nice to cool off after the beach. We didn't pay the parking fee, found free parking in front and nearby hotel. Really enjoyed our stay, visiting Cala Gran and short drive to S'amarador One of mallorca's most stunning beaches in the national reserve and having dinner in the port. Could easily be a 4 or 5 star rated stay if the pool area was renovated and an improved menu. Cat lovers? 🐈 There cats who frequent the hotel alongside the roosters and chickens - the cats are not an issue at all, however on the evening shade they do drink from the swimming pool which is not good for their health the hotel could provide a little cat shelter for them and put some water out as guests found them quite pleasant anyway.
