Fabulous hotel, we were staying in a self catering room to the rear with views over garden area towards pool and bar area, lovely pools but we tended to swim in one closest to our apartment at rear (there is an indoor pool with jacuzzi open around mid September but we didn't use it). Apartment had everything for basic cooking if you wanted-small hob, microwave, good sized fridge, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery, pots/pans, coffee machine, fairy liquid and hand towel. Bathroom had body/hair shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and hairdryer. We paid for breakfast on one day and lots of choices for coeliac/gluten free-cereal, bread, meats, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, sausage, eggs etc. All staff were so friendly and helpful and the hotel and grounds were immaculate. Buses just outside hotel to lots of places, including other bays in Cala D'or-Esmerelda, Ferrera etc and to Santanyi for food/craft market. We also took bus to Cala Mondrago which drops you right at the beach-3 bays there, we swam in Cala S'Amarador with beautiful clear blue sea. There are 2 wee electric trains (green and yellow routes) close to hotel that go to local beaches but we didn't use them. My husband is coeliac and lots of restaurants cater-Regina had GF pasta and pizza, Diferent and Portofino at Marina. Schar foods available in local Spar shop too.

OK, just returned from 6 nights, nice hotel. Location - great. Easy access to places to eat, drink and shop. Bus stop right outside for perhaps a trip to Santanyi. OK, just returned from 6 nights, nice hotel. Location - great. Easy access to places to eat, drink and shop. Bus stop right outside for perhaps a trip to Santanyi. Good supply of great supermarkets nearby. No problem for walk to the marina as well and we made it to Portopetro as well. Room - pretty good. We had a room overlooking pool which had a small kitchen area with basic facilities but more than we needed. Kettle, toaster, coffee machine, couple of hob plates. Fridge obviously very useful for wine, milk and bit of food. Beds were good, but I say beds as our double room was 2 singles next to each other, not ideal. Good storage for clothes and nice balcony. 2 comfy chairs would have been nice instead of the supplied 1 (weird but could see other balconies the same). There were basic chairs supplied so we could sit out there but would have been nice for 2 comfy chairs. Air con seemed variable, first night was great then it seemed like it was turned down.... Hot water was main issue, there were 2 days when it was not hot, it was just about warm enough on full hot. Hotel knew there was an issue. Breakfast - pretty good. If you want a good full English it was ok but not great, personally didnt like the sausages and the bacon was full streaky so not ideal. Pretty good selection though of many things including fizz if you like that for breakfast. Good selection of bread, fruits, cheeses and hams etc. Staff - all seemed nice and helpful, no issue. Room safe - now, this is supposed to be a modern 4 star hotel. I do not expect to arrive to be told I have to pay per night to rent the room safe. This was an extra cost not expected and I really dont think this is acceptable in this level of hotel these days. It was same basic (cheap) room safe but with a magnetic control key that had to be paid for to make it work. Please re-think this, it just comes across as blatant money making on top of an already fairly costly hotel. Pools - seemed good. Were fairly quiet in September. I only used indoor which I thought was supposed to be heated but was not warm! Maybe related to the broken hot water? Tip - ask for a cold breakfast to be delivered night before if leaving pre 8am as this is when breakfast opens.
