We struck gold with this hotel. Could not fault it. Staff were very friendly and totally professional. We booked a sea view room which was lovely. Nice view over the bay. Very quiet. Facilities and cleaning were fine. Food was good. My wife has a shellfish allergy and staff were very helpful and professional with this. Pools were great with no problem with getting sunbeds. Weather varied from 23 to 25 degrees which was fantastic for October. Definitely return and also highly recommend to anyone.

“October week away”

The hotel itself was lovely, clean and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was small but perfectly quiet. The toilet is located behind a glass door separate to shower etc.The staff were lovely and smiley. The food was ok, I wouldn't do all inclusive again . No ambulance around… more

The hotel itself was lovely, clean and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was small but perfectly quiet. The toilet is located behind a glass door separate to shower etc.The staff were lovely and smiley. The food was ok, I wouldn't do all inclusive again . No ambulance around the hotel. No atmosphere . The pool across the road was lovely and steps down into the sea. The only thing is people are bunched up on top if other each ..no space between sun loungers.

“Return trip”

Returning to cala Esmeralda is always good . Very clean , lovely pools , great staff . Food good , can be a little monotonous, good to break the week up with meals outside . Lunch at the beach club is very good . If there is one criticism it would be the evening entertainment. Very poor .

Returned after 8 years, there had been many changes, a new reception, a new beautiful Spa, a new sun area with small pool all lovely, the dining room had been remodelled but wasn't as good as the old design the area to collect food was cramped and too narrow. Returned after 8 years, there had been many changes, a new reception, a new beautiful Spa, a new sun area with small pool all lovely, the dining room had been remodelled but wasn't as good as the old design the area to collect food was cramped and too narrow. The food has always been the best there on our previous visits but it was nowhere as good this time. Worst of all they had an enforced vegetarian night, so we had to eat out costing us extra money. The pool bar across the road was a golden nugget that we loved, but now there are queues due to the increased capacity of the hotel and some idiot selfish germans who cheated theyre way in from the beach side entrance despite everyone else queueing, very irritating. We only went there one day during our holiday due to this nonsense. There was also no music in the evenings at the beach bar which was disappointing as it was lovely there. The drinks were expensive at the hotel but hey they have invested heavily on the rebuild. Lots of very young staff some seemed to lack knowledge maybe there's a need for more mentoring/training? We liked our room, and loved the new showers, the cleaning is 100% from the hardworking staff. Overall we enjoyed our stay but it wasnt as good as our previous visits.
