Gracias Antonio and Mario and all the staff at Gavimar Cala Gran Costa del sur. as a solo traveller I was a little apprehensive because my flight was delayed and I arrived late but Mario was amazing help and took me to my room and showed me the hotel complex. The location is what makes this a 3* hotel and all Inclusive is simple and the food there is nice with a large selection. The reception staff are so helpful. Antonio helped me book a day out in Palma which was reasonably priced and I loved it. The beach is gorgeous and the town a walk away with lots of shops and restaurants. For a budget all inclusive getaway I’d definitely recommend this hotel. I came with Jet 2 and the rep Lynne was here most days to help with any queries. Loved it here it’s clean and basic and good value for money.

Fantastic place to stay, staff so friendly and go out of their way to please, food was good, cocktails were slightly disappointing, only thing I could fault was that the swimming pool and area was too small for the hotel, making it hard to get a bed or chair, the beach was immaculate and sunbeds looked after and all have a safe box which was a great idea, located right in the centre, shops were plentiful and not pushing to sell items like other places. Rooms were clean and tidy, even though a little dated, but if you can see through that, it’s all good, Would I visit again 🤔 probably yes

Gavimar Cala Gran Costa Del Sur Cala d’or Reception was instant and found our room straight away. However we needed a print out of ALL the rubbish and paraphernalia you have online, why, in this day and age. It’s probably a known fact that a ‘tourist tax’ is a standard charge now but I keep forgetting and always get a surprise when you have to shell out before the holiday begins. We were €2.20pppd Internet is dogshit and kept dropping and the speed wasn’t even 1mbs. The patio doors didn’t lock, the safe took a while to master, the kettle didn’t work. Two were fixed within an hour but no joy with the unlocked patio door. Luckily we were three flights up. The door is keyless entry as it’s on your All Inclusive wristband it also gets you the food and drinks when required. Aircon works amazing and the beds are firm but super comfy due to memory foam. We had a spare bed which gave us extra pillows and suitcases storage. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels when required (one towel had a massive brown/orange round stain in the middle). The room was nice and tidy with tea/coffee facilities and milk was in reception area (if we had a fridge we could have got our own milk). The shower was powerful but the curtain was useless as it sticks to you and the water goes everywhere, nowhere to put the shower gel or shampoo. Upgrade needed. Fridge needed. There is a cupboard under the tv where it could live. Even tho there are many bars it’s nice to have cold water, like having a kettle, just needed. The restaurant/dining area was over a lovely bridge but downstairs, however there is a chairlift. The food was plenty of choice and fresh too. Full salad bar, soup, fresh fish, meatballs, chips and cheeseboard was my first choice. This continued throughout our stay and each evening we enjoyed different types of fish and fresh food. There is usually a cooking are where some foods are cooked in front of you but not here. The main reception has a lift which was working on our first day then ‘non molestada’ (out of order) for 5 days, which leads to one of the pools with a bar and live entertainment at night. We found two pools on different levels and a bar beside the each pool. The water was cold but you soon climatize and it’s quite deep too. There was a pool at the restaurant but never opened while we were there. €10 each towel deposit. €14 for the towels. Extra €2 for each time and each towel when you swap for clean towel. Safe €10 deposit and €36 for the 10 days we were there for. €1 per recycle cup which you get back but have to carry cash around with you. €1 per plate at the pool bar snacks which you get back. This promotes recycling! The entire complex was kept very tidy and the paths were swept clean. The staff were very attentive and spoke many languages. When leaving there is a storage room to leave the suitcases which has a camera. Our case had a squeaky wheel so we would know when it was moving. The hotel proximity to the beach is unbelievable. This beach has a sandy walk in and sharp raggedy rocks either side which is great for snorcheling. The hotel is super close to the main shopping area and a plethora of Spar shops to buy snacks and cerveza (beer) for a picnic on the beach. Recommend to others; Absolutely, the price and location are brilliant. Return again; perhaps in a few years and hopefully they have upgraded the shower and fixed the non locking patio door.

Rooms are basic but clean in need of investment. It was fine for us just a cheap end of season get away. Staff all nice and work hard. There was always plenty of choice of food we were all inclusive but the holiday was cheap enough we ate out in the evenings and some lunches. Good selection of fresh fruit at each meal, one of our party was a vegetarian but always plenty of choice. The drinks were good value what you would expect for the AI package. The hotel is in need of investment but if just used as a base then you will enjoy.

Booked this hotel with a couple of friends, we all had our own rooms the price we paid we thought was very good. We were all inclusive, which worked well. The rooms are were exactly what you would expect from a 3 star hotel in Majorca, basic, but clean and functional. They were cleaned and tidied every day. We thought the idea of a chip in your wristband for your room key was a clever idea, you could never get locked out of your room. You also swiped your wristband when entering the restaurant and when being given alcohol from the bars. The food again was what you would expect form a 3 star, all acceptable and we thought there was plenty of choice. There are 3 pools at this hotel, but one has been shut for a long time and the other 2 are quite small and all week we never managed to get a lounger around the pool which we assumed was the main pool by the entertainment area. We always used the pool by the grassed area. Evening entertainment was good fun on a couple of evenings when the staff did the quiz, It was a right good laugh, the entertainment staff work so hard. As do all the staff that work here, big shout out to kelly at the main bar, always a smile and friendly, and to Daniel at the pool bar. (buenos dias mi amigo como estas) I feel sometimes people expect a 5 star hotel for 3 star prices, you get what you pay for in my opinion. we liked the hotel being close to the beach, which is literally a 5 min walk through the underpass.. We enjoyed our week here, even though the weather was not brilliant. Would we stay again? Maybe one day.
