We have just returned from a fabulous week in Majorca. I will try to provide as detailed a review as I can in the hope that it is helpful. Food- reading the reviews we opted for breakfast only in the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and had a great selection- all forms of eggs, various bakery products (breads, baguettes, Danish pastries, biscuits, doughnuts, etc), cold cuts, cheeses, fruit (watermelon, melon, pineapple, apples, nectarines, etc), yoghurts, cereals, etc. The coffee was pretty poor but then I am a flat white kind of person. For lunch we bought bits and bobs from the supermarkets that are opposite the hotel, which was perfect. For dinner we ate out at various restaurants, which are in very close proximity to the hotel and if you look up the reviews, you cannot go wrong- one of our favourite one was the one opposite the hotel (Bodega des Port). Accommodation- I really like that the hotel is not like an apartment complex (a high rise), but little buildings with 4 apartments in each. We were in area D, which has its advantages and also negative aspects. Like some other people pointed out, it's a bit further away from reception and the main area, which some may not like, however, for us it was handy as it was a very quiet area and we had no nigh time disturbances. My only issue was that to get to any of the pools we had to cross the roads, which were not super busy, but busy enough for me not to be comfortable with my children to go by themselves. It was a shame as they wanted to go to the very shallow pools by themselves which we were not able to allow them to do. We felt that the accommodation was very well equipped- the kitchen had everything you may need (hob, microwave, fridge- but no freezer!, utensils, pots, pans, plates, etc). The sofa beds were very uncomfortable, so we asked for some mattress toppers, which actually made a huge difference and we had great quality of sleep. Some commented on the aircon- for us it was working perfectly, but I guess it depends on the actual apartment. There was one thing that might turn people off- there were tiny ants everywhere on the counter despite us not leaving any food out- we watched them coming out of the wall in the cracks between the tiles. They are everso small and we weren't bothered by them- we just plugged the cracks with tissue (they were pretty big cracks). Pools- the pools are fab. It's not just that there are many of them, but they are each different despite the similar look. Each is a different depth, which is fantastic as some are deep enough for jumps (but not diving), others get gradually deeper, yet others are very shallow for those little children. Genuinely could not have asked for a greater selection of pools. I believe one was suitable for swimmers, but we didn't go to that one. Area- the area is great. It's very close to the centre where all the restaurants are but not close enough to make it a rowdy place. The beach is a 15-minute walk with kids- it's definitely worth visiting as it's beautiful and the sea is so warm. Cleanliness- I am very particular about cleanliness and would give a 4 star for it. It was fine but the plates had not been washed properly and the bathroom had a couple of hairs on the floor when we arrived. The bedding was immaculate and so were the towels. I don't like the cleaners coming in and cleaning during our holiday so cannot comment on the regular cleaning. But the cleaners were around all the time cleaning the other apartments and they all seemed to be working hard. Service- the service was ok but nothing to write home about. There were a couple of instances when we called reception about something of which they took note but did not get back to us even just as a courtesy. One instance was that unfortunately we got a bit complacent and left our shoes outside for the night, which disappeared by the morning (nothing of high monetary value but annoying as we didn't have our beach shoes any longer for the rest of the holiday). Retrospectively, it was silly of us to have done that, but everyone left their swim suits, floaties, etc outside overnight, so we thought the shoes would be safe and didn't want to bring them in as they were covered in sand. When we realized that they had vanished, I called reception to see if the overnight security guard might have seen something. The receptionist said they would ask the guard, but then never came back to us- I assume they didn't see anything, but it would have been nice to get a call back. Safety- despite the incident with our shoes, I felt that the area and the hotel itself was very safe and I felt completely safe walking around even late at night. Entertainment- we only stayed for one night to see the entertainment, which was great fun. Not super high quality but we all had a great time and laughed a lot. What more can you ask for?! Internet- this was a big bugbear of ours. We couldn't get WIFI in our apartment and even by the poolside. The only area where there was (temperamental) WIFI was the reception area. I read on their website that there is a room that has high speed internet, but never visited it. I wanted WIFI in the evening to watch stuff on our ipads, catch up on emails, etc- I didn't want to sit in a room each time I needed internet. The old town of Alcudia is like a jewellery box- so so beautiful. Definitely worth a visit. Loved all the independent shops and restaurants. Bought some lovely pottery at very reasonable price, too. We caught a taxi from the hotel, which was around 10 euros each way. Not specific to the hotel, but make sure you bring LOADS of sunlotion- we all used factor 50 and kept topping up every hour but still got mildly burned in the first couple of days. Ended up running out and had to buy just the usual Nivea sun lotion for 19 euros! Absolutely crazy when you get the same for £6 in the UK. So make sure you bring plenty.

Very good choice for vacation with children. Different types of swimming pools in different areas. Friendly and attentive staff at reception , at swimming pool cafes (Ricardo). Reasonable price for food. Not far away from the sea, easily accessible with children. Activities for children. Not far away from the center and other restaurants and shops if needed. Very nice and responsible cleaning staff (Habiba). I can say that I didn’t regret for the choice of the stay taking into consideration the price. Laundry - was very useful as we stayed more than 2 weeks.
