Hotel Astoria Playa - Adults Only

“An exceptional hotel with excellent friendly staff.”

The staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough for us. All were great, particularly Scarlett who was always on hand to help. Facilities were excellent and the rooms and surrounding areas were spotlessly clean. Food was delicious. A perfect stay.

Amazing stay! Just go! My husband an I toured Spain and then spent the last few days in Mallorca at Hotel Astoria Playa. Mallorca was the highlight of our trip and this hotel was a big part of that! Let's start with the TOTALLY AMAZING Buffets, almost a destination in themselves! Took me 1.5 minutes just to video one there were so many options, and different items every evening! Think gourmet dishes along with rotations of roast beef, ribs, and roast piglet! Breakfast buffet is excellent too. It is located a block or two from the beach, but my husband and I rented a car and focused on driving the twisting roads of the island with the BREATH TAKING VIEWS! Although there is no onsite PARKING, we were able to find street parking without too much difficulty. Although there are other options, being able to parallel park greatly increases your options! The staff were seriously the most friendly as well as professional people I have had the privilege of encountering. Everyone, from the people at the front desk ("you need and iron?" "One will be delivered to your room within 10 minutes". ) to the friendly wait staff that obviously were there to take care of you - used plates removed quickly, drinks served with a smile.) We really appreciated them and their service. They truly helped make our stay outstanding. Highly recommend getting a room with the BALI bed. It was like laying out by the pool in the shade, but even more comfortable, AND we didn't have to leave our room and drag stuff down to the pool. In addition, we had front row balcony seats to the LIVE NIGHTLY concerts! (Can't real sunbath from them, though, as they have a canopy.) Rooms were clean and comfortable - though I'm not sure what is up with frosted glass walls around the bathroom. Looks cool, but it would be so much better to be able to turn on the light in the bathroom without lighting up the room for your partner who is still sleeping! There was live music by the pool from 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm, and there was some sort of water aerobics class during the day, but other than that this hotel was peaceful and calming.

“Well earned reputation”

We had decided to stay in the Hotel Astoria based on the excellent reviews from other customers and we would have to say everything was as described and did not disappoint. The food selection and quality had a great reputation and we found this to be totally deserved. Rooms were bright and clean.... more

We had decided to stay in the Hotel Astoria based on the excellent reviews from other customers and we would have to say everything was as described and did not disappoint. The food selection and quality had a great reputation and we found this to be totally deserved. Rooms were bright and clean. Service was always with a smile from the very professional team at Astoria. Location is fantastic with an array of shops and restaurants right outside the door with the famous white sands of Alcudia beach being just across the road. This was an Adults only experience where the age range was (happily) the widest we had ever encountered. We would definitely consider returning to Astoria though it would be great to see an all-inclusive option being made available at some point in the future. Thanks Astoria Brendan and Margaret

We stayed at the Astoria Playa at the beginning of June for 8 nights. This was our 6th visit to the hotel after a break of 5 years because of COVID and the knock on effect of that. Obviously we think this hotel is wonderful being our 6th visit. As usual the staff are friendly and accommodating and the hotel is immaculately clean. There are some points we would like to make as follows: Room - good. Only comment is it would be useful to have a plug point by the dressing table and mirror so ladies (or men) can use straighteners on their hair. Restaurant - good. Only comment is that sometimes our used plates/bowls were still on our table when we came back with our next course. The tables aren't very big and there isn't room for the dirty plates. Entertainment - mediocre. We felt the entertainment was mediocre compared to what we have experienced on past visits plus the same acts are on each week so if you were staying more than 7 nights you will see the same acts as the week before. We were disappointed. General - on one occasion the pool was closed until 11am. This was because there was a new advertising film being made. We watched from our balcony as a blonde lady pranced around being filmed and photographed for 2 hours. We felt this was unacceptable as we had paid to use the hotel facilities and virtually a whole morning by the pool was lost. To top it all it happened a few days later this time having the pool area unavailable until 10am. We know from talking to other guests that they weren't happy about this disruption to our holiday as well. As mentioned at the start the hotel is beautiful and the staff friendly and helpful. If we hadn't stayed here 5 times before we wouldn't have known about the entertainment being so much better on these previous visits.
