“Great for the price”

Fabulous experience for the price. Dumi absolutely makes this hotel special. He's funny, tentative and cheeky. Don't expect 5 star, but the food is good, relatively limited choice, but well prepared. “Surprising little gem that needs a polish in some areas”

This was a last minute all inclusive holiday costing less than £850 (inc flight) for 2 people over 5 nights. I am always a little wary about the less expensive end of the market, but this place more than met expectations with some minor flaws. Check-in was efficient & we were in our room in less than 5 minutes. This isn't really a hotel but more apartment style rooms with a balcony, separate lounge area with a kitchen and bathroom with a shower cubicle. Although a little dated, it was more than adequate for a few nights and it was clean & tidy. The shower consisted of a large raindrop type head and a convential shower head. Again, the bathroom was dated, but like the rest of the apartment, was clean and practical enough. The biggest gripe is the pillows are like concrete blocks so a fluffy or soft pillow as an extra choice would be ideal. Also, the TV perhaps lacked enough English channels but it's not the greatest loss. The all-inclusive food was hot and tasty but sadly lacked variety. I can understand why some chose to dine out in the evening. Drinks were local brands, including spirits, but was more than acceptable for our purposes. Beer was San Miguel, a premium brand, so no complaints there. The pool was large, and there were plenty of sunbeds available to soak up the winter sun. Most, however, were tired and could do with a good clean or replacement, but were satisfactory enough. The entertainment was provided by a showman called Dumi. He worked very hard to ensure the evenings swang, and did everything from music to karaoke to Bingo to a Mexican night. During the day the the activities included darts & aqua arobics amongst other things. The only gripe is the evening entertainment finished early at around 10pm so a trip down to the strip was required for those looking to extend the evening. Overall though, all the staff worked hard and had plenty of smiles and a jolly hello when they saw us. The main strip is less than a 5 minute walk away downhill, so a taxi is needed back after an excessive night!. There is a supermarket outside attached to the side of the complex and a cash machine. The bottom line is this is a good location, but needs a little make over & tender care in some areas to freshen up. The Plaza Palmeras is ideal for a no thrills, budget concious break for a few nights but perhaps not the best for anything longer than a week.

Well I'm here now on my honeymoon and well I wasn't going to write about review just yet but I am now after reading all the reviews about Dumi well now we just heard Dumi asking guests to write a great review about him and him standing over them whilst they fo it is why he is getting good reviews but in all honesty Dumi is the 1 bad thing about the hotel he is very self obsessed and loves himself he takes the piss out of guests and I find him very offensive and I have told him so he is the only entertainment if u call it that bingo or quiz and karaoke and it finishes b4 10pm however the reception staff are great very helpful and order cabs if u need 1 the bar staff especially Fenna are amazing and Fenna's cocktails are fab though the choice of drinks are limited and are own brands but she really does amazing with them the food isn't great and a few times we have walked in and walked straight out again though the only good thing about Dumi is he has tried to get us other food that we will eat mainly burgers which was a kind gesture but the bad things about him outweigh the good the pool is amazing although very cold and could do with being heated the rooms are adequate but need revamping as some areas need fixing like in our room part of the skirting is coming away from the wall the cleaning staff are also amazing and are very helpful and they all try there best to speak English
