12th visit to this hotel since 2014, would have been more except for Covid years. Disappointed as this is my first visit to my home from home as a solo visitor & I have been made to feel ‘less than’. From room allocation, the worst of the property, to being treated poorly by reception staff for daring to ask for a room change. 24 hours in, it is quite clear that there have been budget cuts across the board. Staff shortages every where. The few staff remaining that I recognise indifferent to me as a repeat customer, though they know me. I guesss all autonomy has been take away from them by ‘management’. No doubt they are supposed to be grateful for their ‘good jobs’, I don’t blame them for that. I could go on about the fancy new restaurant decor yet significantly reduced food offering & quality but my heart is not in it to point out all the obvious flaws that recent reviewers have expressed. All the years I never posted a review, simply because I did not want too many to know what a gem of a place this is, was. Walked down to the marina today and was shocked to see all the shops closed. If management doesn’t get or respect the importance of this place to repeat customers then let the tattoo brigade in and run amuck. Me, I’m going to remember & channel the good times of 10 years of memories & enjoy the next 5 days of what will be my last visit to the Costa Calero. “I will never go back. Totally dissatisfied.”

This hotel has changed for the worse. I have been coming here over the last 17 years. Staff numbers have been cut Restaurant service shocking . This hotel has changed for the worse. I have been coming here over the last 17 years. Staff numbers have been cut Restaurant service shocking . We had to look around for staff to get drinks for our table every night at our events my meal. The bars had long queues continually in the pool area and the piano bar. The food was bland , repetitive and not a great selection at lunch and evening sittings . Great if you liked chicken or fish or very meal . The pigs head was , well what should I say? All in all I was the totally dissatisfied and will never go back

The location of this hotel is perfect. Rebecca on Reception is outstanding. Ana on Housekeeping on the 2nd Floor is fantastic. Sadly that's where the praise ends. We arrived at 22.00 hrs after a long day to be greeted by a miserable Receptionist.....the next day and for the next ten days, the Restaurant staff were rude.. This was our 15th visit but sadly never again. There was a group of people who completely hijacked the sunbed area next to the seawater pool by putting towels out at 6am and many of the beds weren't occupied until late afternoon. A huge refurbishment of the restaurant has taken place but now there is no wine list on the table and you have to make yourself understood in asking for one....even in Spanish. Such a shame....staff obviously had no training. Never saw a Manager the whole time we were there. Such a shame as it was always our happy place.. We had been looking forward to it for a year.
