“Very disappointing”

The food was not the best. Mostly fish or pork. Carrots were almost raw as were the potatoes most nights. Only about 5 or 6 desserts. Worst I've ever experienced. The food was not the best. Mostly fish or pork. Carrots were almost raw as were the potatoes most nights. Only about 5 or 6 desserts. Worst I've ever experienced. No tablecloths and you had to get your own cutlery! Never seen this before! More like a canteen than a restaurant! Although new years eve they did do a lovely banquet! Apartment was ok, basic, fairly clean. Staff very unfriendly, never spoke and if they had to it was very unprofessional. I did ask to speak to the manager about a particularly night where the food was atrocious and left my room number with reception to speak about this but never contacted me......would never return.

My friend and I stayed from 16th-26th December 2024 All Inclusive, in a 1 bed ground floor apartment with a sea view from our balcony, plenty big enough for 2 people. I would rate it more 2* than 3* (my opinion) The Pros: The Complex is only 10 minutes from the Airport....The beach 800mtr (20 minute stroll) The rooms are well equipped with everything you need for Self Catering / Half Board or even All Inclusive and very clean...All the staff extremely friendly, polite and helpful...Taxi rank outside of hotel...2 Swimming pools, plenty of loungers pool area clean...we didn't go to the pool with the bar, not our thing....4 types of breakfast cereal, fruit, yogurts, lots of bread products, cheeses, meats etc (if you like continental foods) at each meal...If you like cats (as we do) you will be heaven...there are lots :-) The Cons: The Airport is only 10 minutes from the complex (every 10-15minutes low flying planes in and out looked like they were skimming tops of trees....Not a good place to stay if you have issues with walking, everything in the complex is up and down hill and steps...paths not really wide enough for mobility scooter even if you could negotiation it around. For us, the food wasn't good, we aren't fussy eaters...the smell of fish hit you at every mealtime (ok if you like fish) Food was warm (not hot) there was a microwave to heat up your meal...same choice every Breakfast, eggs were either undercooked or overcooked, bacon was not what Brits call bacon (was more like turkey bacon) and as for the sausage we tried them the 1st day, didn't touch them again, in fact we didn't have any of the cooked breakfast after the 2nd day we stuck to boiled egg and bread and croissant ...toaster was useless, had to put bread through at least 4 times to get a colour on it, the other toaster was broken...Midday and Evening meals not a lot of choice, most things were cooked in tomato and spices and very overcooked veg...I mainly had chip or salad butties, as did quite a few others.... No tea or Coffee with midday and evening meals, machines not available...you could have juice, water and alcohol. Don't even ask about Xmas Dinner :-(...We did try the snack bar one day...never again...got the dreaded tummy bug as did quite a few people we spoke to. All in all we wont be going back there, for us a very expensive holiday as we ate out or missed meals a lot of days

It is what it is. We stayed for 4 weeks and went home just before Xmas. The rooms are all different but ours was excellent, and we had no complaints about the cleanliness of the room or hotel in general. We found the beds a little hard and pillows were useless (thin and only one per person). We were all inclusive but noticed if you were going to be self catering you would be missing a microwave in the room but that's all. Pool areas were always cleaned daily and presentable, at this time of year the pool was cold, it stated the pool was heated but didnt feel like it was. We found the staff for the most part very helpful and happy, there were one or two who looked like they didn't want to be there, no smiles etc but overall good. Food was repetitive and boring, I can see some people have said in reviews food was OK but if you are staying for more than one week believe me it gets very repetitive. Veg is always soggy and in general the food is low quality and to a budget, vegetarians beware you will have very little choice. (My girlfriend is vegetarian and she really struggled). They struggle to keep the food warm and I often had to use the baby bottle microwave to reheat food. Best meal of the day was breakfast, although turkey bacon and sausages were disappointing you can get a full cooked breakfast. (Strangely hash browns were served at lunch but not brekfast). Coffee was weak and tasteless. Snack bar upstairs was repetitive with no change from day to day (OK if you like hotdogs) They should do burgers alternatively but don't. Anyone with children for any length of time will struggle with food across the board (they do chicken nuggets and chips in the main resturant) Strangely no hot drinks for lunch or evening meals in the main resturant but beer, wine, sangria and soft drinks are available. If you are all inclusive and you want water for your room you have to take it at meal times in a cup from the resturant, they will charge you for bottled water (no great cost but annoying for all inclusive). Evening entertainment was hit and miss as with most other all inclusive places, we didn't spend a lot of time in the main bar as it wasn't exactly welcoming (acoustics were awful and it was basic). WIFI is chargeable unusually, safe is available at a cost as are towels for round the pool. It's a 5 Min walk to a small complex with restaurants and bars all of which offer reasonable menus if you get bored with food in the hotel and a 10 min taxi ride to the main strip in Puerto del Carmen where you have a very wide choice of food and drinks.
