Overall a great, family-friendly resort! We stayed the last week in June so before Scottish or English schools broke up for summer holidays. We were a group of 7 split across a 1 bed premium apartment (2 adults + 2yo) and 1 co-joined apartment (2 adults + 2 teens). Checkin/out: Quick and efficient. We arrived after 10pm and were pleasantly surprised that the hotel had made us up packed lunches - sandwich, water & fruit. We had emailed to request rooms next to each other, but that wasn't possible - we were however in the same block so not too big a deal. Travel cot for toddler had been requested too but wasn't noted at checkin - but receptionist sorted and it was brought to us within about 30mins. Rooms: 1 bed premium apartment - clean upon arrival, with plenty of towels, spare pillows & working air con. Was really impressed with the quality of the travel cot (large, even for our 2yo and really sturdy mattress!). Co-joining apartment - same as above, although some minor issues such as poor quality aircon & 1 front door VERY tough to open (even maids struggled most mornings) - mentioned this at checkout but receptionist didn't take note so not sure if it will actually be resolved. Both apartments had ample plates, cutlery, toaster, kettle, microwave/ grill - no dish soap (bring some if you're self catering) & very little worktop space. Catering/ buffet restaurant: We stayed half board (breakfast and dinner). Restaurant is lower level and has a kind of cafeteria feel to it - pretty basic & simple. We were down about 9am most mornings and were always able to get a table, but it did get busier from then on and there was usually a queue of folk waiting to be seated. Breakfast options were good - lots of fruit, bread, pastries & hot food section. Omelets were delicious but there was only ever 1 person cooking them so the queue was always busy. Given the size of the resort, and assuming it's even busier when the UK schools are off, the restaurant isn't big enough. We ventured down on night 2 of our holiday for dinner....we didn't go back. Food was fine but there was just no atmosphere and the drinks options were poor - we much preferred walking down to the marina and paying for dinner. Pools/ entertainment: The highlight of this resort are the pool areas. The apartments are in blocks, and each block has it's own pool - so for the whole week sunbeds were plentiful! There were some points where we were the only family at the pool at our block - bliss! The main pool is a lot busier but again, still loads of sunbeds! Music could get loud at some points (for our toddler) but in those instances we just took ourself to a quieter area, which was great. There are lots of little pools (knee depth) which were ideal for our 2yo to get a bit of independence - the bigger pulls are all 1.3-1.5 meters deep (so not "shallow end" as such). Other Supermarket on site was open until 11pm and had all the essentials - was ideal for our late arrival as could grab some water & snacks to keep us going until morning. There is other supermarkets within ~10mins walk from resort if needed - cheaper and more selection. Staff throughout the resort are really hard working & were always friendly. The cleaners were in every day to make bed, sweep up and change towels - so the room always felt fresh after a day in the sun. Location wise, it's a 15min walk to the beach where there were some lovely restaurants/ bars and a further 10mins to the marina - nice scenic walk along the coast and very accessible - we had a pram with us every night. Playa Blanca is a great family destination and we'd love to re-visit. We would return to this resort again as the rooms & facilities were what we were expecting - we'd just come bed and breakfast instead, as restaurant wasn't what we were looking for.

“Great self catering 4 night break”

We visited for a 4 night stay, x3 40 something year old girly trip/catch up. It was fab, nice spacious self catering apartment, 2 of us shared bedroom one on a comfy sofa pull our trundle type bed. We couldnt check in till 3pm into our apartment but enjoyed some cocktails and chill time at the adult only pool bar (this is a 50m type olympic pool) so great if you like swimming. Good selection of drinks nd not to bad priced if self catering. Onsight spa at €5 per hour and spa treatments also available. Mini supermarket, launerette. Numerous pools dotted around blocks including large pool where animation team are situated and have daytime activites, although we prefered adult pool for the quiet. Walk down to the strip is about 20mins through back gate, we purchased a gate key card however never used it as gate isnt locked until 11pm . Lots lovely food places and tourist shops on strip and behind there a mini high street type area of perfume/tobacco/independent shops..... in the other direction if the marina which is a bit more upmarket shall we say but equally as good and food places a mixed variety. We also found a great german coffe shop with homemade cakes. Unless you dont mind walking or have mode of transport some may find this to much if they plan on leaving hotels. We didnt mind and enjoyed the walks and seeing the sights on route. But a lot we have seen do have a good old moan about the walking to strip so have a think if it is suitable for u. But overall we loved hotel we couldnt keep room on and got the impression no one can now over next few months due to demand, however a shower and towel was provided for us later in day.. Shampoo and bodywas provided in rooms, decent size balcony, mugs are quite small so if u like a good size cuppa in room maybe take ur own. Towels i believe are available at €10 and there are huts located around so u can change them throughout the day.

6 night break in June. We stayed all inclusive, so food and drinks were plentiful, including snacks throughout the day and plenty of non-alcoholic options. Easy walking distance of Playa Blanca and Rubicon Marina with all the shops, bars and cafes there. We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was clean and tidy. There are 15 pools here, so no shortage of choice, but I do think they all need a revamp, including the public bathrooms and the bathrooms in your room…..it all seems really tired to me and needs money spending…. Only gave 4 stars because of the location and food / drink flexibility otherwise I would probably give it a 3 star review. I will say though they I like the fact the they use reusable drinks cups and not single use plastic, which was a massive issue for me in Gran Canaria last year…. All in all it’s a great place if you just want to lounge by the pool all day, but I wouldn’t stay again, but that’s my personal opinion. This place could really be 4+ stars if they spent some money on modernisation!

Hotel and pool was great. The entertainment really let this place down especially if you are english and don't speak a word of french. The entertainment team was all french and favoured the french. Music quiz at night was more french songs than english songs or more well known songs. The lads who do the entertainment are discusting when it came to young girls and flirting with them. But what topped it off was this place is meant to be family friendly but the odd song that booms across the pool through the day had alot or swear words and sexual content. This needs addressing. I have 2 young girls aged 9 and 6 and for them to hear this kind of language across the pool area was really bad.
