Very pleasant resort complex with (mostly) friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Rooms are cleaned and beds made daily (except Sundays). Plenty of hot water for showering and washing up. Gardens are very well maintained with an abundance of palms, cacti, and flowers. An excellent large adults-only pool, a large pool for families and several smaller pools for kids. Would rate it a 5 but there are a few things that let it down: The cooking facilities for self catering are limited (2 ring temperamental hob and a microwave). The fridge has no freezer section so no ice cube storage (even though the shop sells bags of ice). The furniture in the room was uncomfortable though the beds were very good. The shower has no handrails making access difficult for older visitors (walk-in showers would be better and safer). The on-site shop has very limited stock and the woman who works there clearly needs to go on a customer service course. She barely acknowledges customers and spends most of her time on her phone! All the above could be resolved, the one thing they can't do much about is the distance from the resort to the beach (a long walk in hot weather) though taxis (if you can find one) only cost about €5 with a tip each way. There is a twice per day bus from the hotel but it could do with a more frequent shuttle service. If you're self catering do your shopping at Lidl or Spar, most of the Dino supermarkets are poorly stocked and overpriced (as is the on site shop).

“First time Lanzarote”

Rooms are pretty standard, we had a premium room with pool view which probably is the least standard to go for. The whole area is like a small town and every house looks pretty much the same. Still nice breakfast, great staff and everything you need is close by.

Honest review Trip 18th November 2 weeks AI just 2 adults , late 50s... Weather amazing. Hotel, spotlessly clean💯 Room , apartment, brilliant.💯 Pools , chilly, not heated , didn't use the adult only pool as deeper and didn't warm up, oval pool by apartment much better as warm enough to get in and try! Spa nice, a bit dated, and pool and jacuzzi still not well heated. Food , fantastic. The freshly cooked area was amazing every night. Loved the roast pork, roast beef , roast turkey, tuna steak, fresh prawns,, chicken breast. All with lovely fresh salad or veg. The lamb tangine and beef stew 🩷 Breakfast omelet, breakfast pancakes, with bacon and maple syrup ! Cereal with apricots, figs, dates, prunes and fresh grapefruit💕 Loads of other choices too, plenty to appeal to everyone. AI drinks well worth it too. Staff for the most lovely, some were a bit grumpy, but no doubt over worked and underpaid ! Housekeeping were amazing. Some staff stood out above the rest , and we were sad we didn't see them before we left to say thankyou. Our only less than brilliant experience was the entertainment, or lack of it. No afternoon or evening adult entertainment. Could have done with an adult only music area, or quiz ,bingo, karaoke etc . Evening entertainment in the Dome didn't start til 930 , and was finished by 10.30!! (Butlins 1980 !) No atmosphere , no lights down. Felt there was very little effort put into keeping us there . ( so we didn't drink and become rowdy british tourists?) This left us eating out and finding entertainment at the beach, which racked up bit of an expense after 2 weeks . Felt a bit lack Lustre. No holiday vibe. Just a nice enough hotel, that could have been anywhere. A bit like a Premier Inn with a pool. Would we come to Lanzarote again , probably. Would we stay at Tropical Island, probably not I'm afraid. It was nice , but not nice enough.
