Found Mirador very comfortable and clean hotel. Location was ideal for us quiet area but nearest shopping centre 10 mins walk small but with supermarket and nice eating places and sports bar with all the main events 15 mins walk Rubicon Marina very nice place to wander around plenty of eating places and shops also market on Wednesday and Saturdays nice local craft stalls We also took bus 1.40euro no30 which takes you to all the areas in Playa Blanca we went to. Faro area at the lighthouse and walked all the way back to hotel approx 6 miles with plenty of places to stop and have a drink or meal walkway all the way and whole area spotlessly clean. Hotel was excellent all staff polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good with plenty of variation and loads of fruit and cooked options. Evening meal was average at times and if you like your food roasting hot you would probably have to use the microwave. We were on DBB so I cannot comment on the Al inclusive option but we did have drinks on the terrace and found the to be of a good standard. Pool although not to big was ideal for cooling off and you could also use the jacuzzi next to the pool. We had a Double room with Sea View which was of a good size and cleaned daily with bedding changed every 3 days. Highlight of the room was the sea view great views from the balcony a must to appreciate the hotel. Our 1st visit to Playa Blanca very impressed and hopefully we will be returning in the near future to Mirador Papagayo. Thank you for making our stay so memorable

“Great first visit”

Good hotel, excellent position and views, nice pools, plenty of sunbeds. Reception staff were great apart from Patrick who was grumpy, unhelpful and impatient! Restaurant at night let it down a bit like a canteen for a 4 star hotel but breakfast was good.

We have stayed here numerous times over the years and have always had a good holiday. There has been a noticeable drop in the standard of food , but we all know that costs have be kept really tight so you can’t expect what you used to get a few years ago.The restaurant is well run , you may have to wait at busy times but not that long. We always asked to go outside which is much calmer and quieter than the main restaurant. The upstairs bar is now non smoking which is such an improvement- no more sitting in someone else’s smoke although we did have an incident one night when a guest insisted on carry on lighting up. Management got involved after we complained and was very professional. We found all the staff very friendly ( apart from one lady in the pool bar who obviously would rather be doing something else!) and the entertainment staff are lovely, encouraging everyone to join in but no pressure to do so. It’s not a large hotel and all the better for it. We’ve stayed in lots of different hotels in Playa Blanca but always gravitate back to Mirador.They must be doing something right as I’ve just booked to go back in February.

Nice and clean hotel Rooms lovely, beds very comfortable we had a pool view room. Most of the staff very friendly Plenty of sunbeds available, no mad rush in the morning. Unfortunately the food was terrible, we went all inclusive. It was Luke warm, not a lot of choice, some times it was just not edible by it being too salty or hard. I had a hair in my soup and a fried egg full of egg shells. Breakfast was slightly better, lunch was a waste of time and the pool bar food was cold and there was a microwave for you to heat it up!! Hard burgers no thanks. We ended up eating out most evenings. We shall not be returning as there are some lovely places nearer to the marina and beach and I would go self catering or B&B next time as I will be returning to Playa Blanca just not this hotel.
