Writing this as we wait for our transfer back to the airport. Had an absolutely lovely 10 nights here (32 F with 66 yr old mum). Definitely an older clientele, there weren’t any children or groups of younger holidaymakers the whole time we were here. The bungalows are in “blocks” of two and surrounded by trees and flowerbeds for privacy, the complex has a “quiet after 11pm” rule which is a nice considerate touch. Also no blaring music by the pool which my mum was very grateful about! Three large pools and more space/sunloungers around than we’ve ever seen before so no worries about getting a spot. Be warned the two adult pools are both 1.7 meters deep throughout with no shallower spots (not really a problem for us two 6ft tall women but something to consider for anyone shorter!) but there is a children’s pool (0.4 metres). The bungalows were cleaned every day aside from Monday/Tuesdays, towels and bedding twice during the stay. We did have quite a few ants in the kitchen but that really wasn’t an issue for us. There’s no aircon or fans so it can get stuffy but having the front and back doors open during the evening cooled the bungalow down plenty. Location-wise it’s less than 5 minutes to the nearest restaurants/shops and the beach (directly across the road from reception, down a steep but short road). While there’s 5/6 options for eating on that initial bit if you walk along the front to the left for another 5 minutes there’s another half dozen bars and restaurants and another 10 minutes walk gets you to Playa Blanca which has lots of places to eat and shop. If you don’t fancy the 20/25 minute walk from the bungalows you can get the bus from across the road for €1.40 and it takes less than 5 minutes (two stops on the bus) - taxi back cost between €3.80-€4.50. The on-site restaurant is closed but there is a pool-side snack bar and they don’t seem to mind you bringing food and drink from outside to the loungers. All in all this place was the perfect base for a quiet, relaxing October break.

“Great location and space , but needs investment in the rooms and air con”

I can only echo what others have out over last few months.... Fantastic location , but rooms need updating / investment and certainly air con... Friendly staff , with a large pool area and plenty of beds First time to this part of playa , but enjoyed the sea view walks to the rest of area and Rubi… more

I can only echo what others have out over last few months.... Fantastic location , but rooms need updating / investment and certainly air con... Friendly staff , with a large pool area and plenty of beds First time to this part of playa , but enjoyed the sea view walks to the rest of area and Rubicon marina. 5 mins to a fantastic beach with a few bars , restaurants and a shop For the price we paid , cannot really grumble , but could be a 5/5 if rooms updated. Biggest patio area we have ever had , and a real sun trap. Not much more to really say

This was our second time staying at Playa Limones. It was nice to see that a lot of updating was in process. Lovely location near the sea and shops with a good bus service. They managed to let us have the same apartment as last year. The staff were very helpful and courteous and kept our apartment very clean. We shall be going back next year as we had a lovely holiday at Playa Limones.

“LIMONES Bungalows August 2024”

Arrived late at night and reception shut at 8pm. Paper on door telling us what bungalow we were in. Eventually found bungalow. First thing that hits you is the heat. Bungalows have no air conditioning. Bed wasn’t cleanest and all filling in pillows had crumbled. Following morning managed to check… more

Arrived late at night and reception shut at 8pm. Paper on door telling us what bungalow we were in. Eventually found bungalow. First thing that hits you is the heat. Bungalows have no air conditioning. Bed wasn’t cleanest and all filling in pillows had crumbled. Following morning managed to check in . Staff explained no air Cain and that fans that were for hire weren’t the best. We were given a sheet stating rules and when towels and sheets changed . Towels every 4 days and sheets every 6. We didn’t get either . We were told that towels should be on floor if we wanted changing on 4th day. I explained I didn’t know and that there were ants on floor.( don’t leave doors open for breeze) . The Bungalows look lovely from the outside , however could do with updating inside. On a positive , no issues getting sun lounges and these were very sturdy and did t tip if you sat on the end. I would stay here again if they had air con as they are in a beautiful setting !
