We are lucky enough to have had another visit to HD Beach Resort in November and were hoping to visit on December but unfortunately our schedule didn't allow it. I don't want to forget to say thank you to the wonderful team who work incredibly hard to make sure we have a memorable visit. Anna, Myra, Augusto, Carlos (reception) Juan Pedro, Jesus ( F & B) And a special mention to Sonia in the pool bar who serves us up delicious food every day with the help of Macarena serving drinks with a smile ! “Pre Christmas sunshine”

Our trip to Lanzarote did not get off to a good start. Our Tui flight from Birmingham was delayed for an hour then due to long queues at Arrecife passport control our transfer coach left without us. Fortunately Tui provided a taxi to take us to HD Beach resort. Our spacious, comfortable junior suite, room 171, exceeded our expectations, situated adjacent to the first floor pool. The terrace was a sun trap, the only drawback being the fact that you had to go downstairs to the ground floor pool bar to fetch a drink. This was the only bar open during the day. Some of the furniture was well used but I understand refurbishment is imminent. Maybe they will install a bar by the first floor pool when they update facilities. It took us a while to get our bearings in the hotel, seemed to be a lot of corridors and glass but some parts were quite dark, particularly one area of the restaurant where the ceiling was low. Hotel is in a quiet location but within walking distance of the town. Evening entertainment was ok and there were various activities during the day. Food was plentiful and varied but not very hot. We appreciated the fact that you could have coffee/tea in the restaurant after your meal as the machines were on all day, not just for breakfast. Snacks available at pool bar 10am - 5pm if you didn’t want to go to restaurant. Staff were very hard working and always cheerful. I would be interested to come back and see what has changed after the refurbishment. A Calima developed after a day of heavy but much needed rain, which caused a lot of dust in the air. Delayed again at the airport coming home. I think we will give the Canary Islands a miss until they sort put their passport control problems

Beautiful Hotel Beautiful Views This is my 2nd time to this hotel My first visit was in March 2024 and it's still a stunning hotel. My room overlooked the sea and the views were absolutely perfect. The sun disappears from the balcony around lunchtime but regardless it is still amazing. The room I was allocated was lovely but definitely tired but the hotel is closing for a full refurb so all things will change. There were also tiny little insects in the room which they did spray the room and they cleared for a little while but returned. I'm not sure what insects they were but they were very tiny things. I never had an issue getting a sunbed being on holiday on my own I always tried to head to the same spot each day. I struggled this time around with how the food temperature was. The food was lukewarm the majority of the time. I raised this with the staff and rep but this is where the microwave comes in useful. However from a personal opinion I genuinely don't like to reheat my food and the same thing was repeated the 2nd week of my holiday. This hotel does lack theme nights and I think this would be a good thing to introduce after the refurb. The drinks were lovely. I just loved the fact that Antonio got used to my drinks and poured a generous amount of Malibu and Diet Coke for me. Antonio is such a lovely, friendly outgoing person who certainly always wears a smile. I would also love to give a shout out to Macarena we had some lovely conversations at the pool bar from my bobble hat I had purchased to take back to the UK and chatting about perfumes. Macarena is an asset to the hotel and so full of positive energy. Ana and Maira on reception what beautiful kind ladies they are. They are just so sweet and always happy to help where possible. Thank you ladies for being you. Carlos I was so made up when he remembered me from March what a lovely warm welcome back. Also it was a pleasure to meet the manager Raul. Whilst he didn't give too much away about the refurb it sounds exciting. I just hope that when it's done that the price doesn't change too much and it is still affordable. I would like to return to HD but it would depend on the price for me. The Italian night was beautiful the first week I truly enjoyed the new menu and it felt special. However the second week it was a completely different feel to it, it felt rushed and the food was barely warm. Sadly I couldn't eat it all and skipped the pudding too it just didn't taste so good the 2nd visit. I met some lovely people at this hotel and whilst I traveled solo not once did I feel alone. I felt safe and I also feel that the staff cared also and this counts for a lot too. Entertainment for me was not great. I just feel that they need to mix things up and some of the entertainment just isn't fantastic at this hotel. You need stuff for the guests to engage in. Thank you to some of the guests that were at the hotel the same time as me and involving me in your day/night chats you are all special in your own ways. I would also like to point out on the Saturday evening the loud music coming from a bar just up from HD playing that loud till nearly 03.30am was a little bit much especially for those guests with a seaview This is my true reflection of this hotel. I hope you have an amazing time if you decide to book or have a holiday booked. Xx
