Just had a week at Ficus if you want a relaxing adult only holiday it is ideal .Check In was quick and efficient room wad ready when we arrived at 12 00pm.ROOM Was a nice size separate lounge area with fridge,microwave and kettle no tea or coffee supplied ,flat screen T.V.with some English channels and great size balcony over looking the pool .Walk in shower in bathroom . DINING Found the food fine plenty of choices always replenished sometimes a bit cold but warmed it in microwave POOL Plenty of sunbeds you do get your early morning towel layers but we never had a issue getting a bed .POOL BAR open 11 -6 hardly any queuing. MAIN BAR was okay found the drinks fine decent choice .You also have a pay bar by the reception which has branded drinks .ENTERTAINMENT Let's the hotel down 2 outside acts a week animation team pleasant and try their best but don't expect to much.GROUNDS are lovely some great little seating areas spread around the hotel and everywhere is kept spotless including the pool area and outside toilets .STAFF work hard and found them very friendly. You are 5 minutes walk to the nearest bars and 10 minutes from the beach we thoroughly enjoyed our stay bit of winter sun and a peaceful hotel.

My wife and I have just spent a week here over New Year. We've had a great time, from the moment we arrived it all went really smoothly, the people on the reception made our arrival really easy, even pausing so we could grab some lunch before it finished. We were in the older part of the Hotel but the rooms are fine, more than adequate and spotlessly clean. The all inclusive food is good and they did a wonderful New Year Dinner. The staff all work their socks off and are all really friendly. The Animation Team are a really great bunch of kids, they worked tirelessly to try and entertain us oldies with the usual pool games etc. And again in the evening, a special thank you to, Nicole, Khalid and Klevin, they're a delight. We loved it here, it's not perfect, but for what we paid it was great. We'd even come back, and that's a rare thing for us.

We went from the 23rd December to the 30th. We enjoyed our stay even if I do think we were the youngest couple staying there. We stayed on the normal side which was great, with a nice spacious apartment seperate bedroom and living room, plenty of room on the balcony. We were on the top floor with an amazing view overlooking towards the sea. 2 qualms I have is there was no water left in the fridge in the room and there are no lifts to take the cases up the stairs. Apart from that it was great. The food was plentiful with something always to eat. Different types on different evenings. The drinks we found were great with a different variety. Christmas dinner in the evening was great we couldn't complain. Our first Christmas away too. The staff are lovely, the entertainment staff are great Khlevin and Khalid try to get you to join but don't pester you. The hotel is in a great location just a 15 minute walk to the town where the shops, bars and restaurants are. We ate out a few nights too, found it to be reasonable priced. I wouldn't go back, not because of the hotel just we like to try different places. Ignore the bad reviews this hotel is great.

“3 Star Hotel - Nothing More”

First time in Lanzarote and Costa Teguise staying here from the 19th to 26th December 2024. We wiil, as always, try and give a fair and balanced review. Check In - this was somewhat lengthy due to the information the Spanish Government is insisting travellers provide. Guests checking in also didn't help the process and they decided to form two queues which caused some friction and made the receptionists job more difficult than necessary. However, after approx 30 minutes we were shown to our room. Room - We had decided to pay for an upgrade to the premium facilities at a cost of £160 for the 7 days stay and were so glad we had. The premium side is situated behind a fence and locked gate and all rooms overlook the pool. It is quiet with plenty of sunbeds and it's own small drinks bar. The room was spacious with a comfortable double bed, plenty of storage space, lounge area with TV and coffee making facility and fridge, and large bathroom with walk in shower and hairdryer. Towels were more than adequate and changed regularly and bed linen was changed once during our stay. Restaurant - this was in the main part of the hotel and a short walk from the premium area. We didn't have any issues with the restaurant or the variety and quality of food on offer although, like many all inclusives, sometimes it may not have been as hot as you would have liked. On Xmas Day the hotel put on a vast array of food on the menu and we had no complaints whatsoever regarding the quality. Entertainment - this was on offer each night in the main part of the hotel but was provided solely by the TUI reps. Karaoke and quiz nights are not our idea of entertainment and the venue for it left a lot to be desired. We nicknamed it the shed as it resembled a garage with a small bar, plastic chairs, tables, and small stage. We would call in for a drink before our evening meal but chose to walk into Teguise each night afterwards. Location - It could be considered to be slightly out on a limb in a quiet area. It is a good 15 minutes walk to The Square in the centre of Teguise but there are a couple of sports bars within a 5 minutes walk. If anyone has any mobility issues then you would need to take this into consideration if wanting to visit Teguise itself. Costa Teguise is breezy! The wind was constantly present for 5 out of our 7 days stay. In summary, this is classed as a 3 star facility and we would say this is an accurate rating. We would not return to the accomodation and if visiting Lanzarote again would probably try Playa Blanca as we believe this is in a more sheltered area of the island.
