I stayed at Celeste from the 5th-12th June and overall had a pleasant experience. The rooms were basic but fair for the price. I was in Block 1, upstairs in Room 105, which faced the street. While this might be noisier for some, it didn’t bother me. The room came with two balconies: one large balcony within the complex that faced the other rooms, equipped with a table, chairs, two sun loungers (still plenty of room to move about!), and a drying rack. The second balcony, off the bedroom, faced the street and was a delightful surprise which I enjoyed people-watching from. The hotel grounds were well-kept with plants filling all the spare areas around the rooms, creating a lovely atmosphere. The cleaners and other staff were all lovely and welcoming. The location is excellent, with everything you need close by. Regarding amenities, the pool is small and quite deep, which might not be ideal for young children. However, it is gated, ensuring safety. Some guests found the pool small, but I appreciated its size and the fact that it was rarely used. This meant I could enjoy it peacefully. One downside was the disturbance caused by a large group of girls over three nights. They were extremely loud and quite aggressive towards other guests. Despite several complaints, little was done to address the issue, which was disappointing given that Celeste markets itself as a family hotel. Overall, I found Celeste to be a good value for money with friendly staff and well-maintained grounds. Just be mindful of potential noise issues depending on the room location and guest behavior.

“Desperate need of improvement ”

We have stayed in Block 3 6 times now. Always request either room 218 or 222 and always allocated one. These apartments are extremely tired yet in the past that hasn't been an issue for us as they are always clean. We did notice this year that the bath was rotten, painted over but heavily stained... more

We have stayed in Block 3 6 times now. Always request either room 218 or 222 and always allocated one. These apartments are extremely tired yet in the past that hasn't been an issue for us as they are always clean. We did notice this year that the bath was rotten, painted over but heavily stained and paint peeling away. The shower was cold and had no pressure. There was also an overwhelming stench from the bathroom too. We bought airfreshner and kept the window and door open. The other negative is the lack of sunbeds around the pool and that you have to pay 2€ per item to keep them in the storage room once checked out of room if you have a later flight ... this used to be free! I've given our stayed 4/5 as we honestly do have the most amazingly chilled out relaxed time here. The apartments are in a fab location and all staff really friendly. Having said that , we won't be returning to the Celeste in the future

“Dated accommodation”

Our apartment was clean but in need of modernisation as it was very dated I didn’t use the pool areas as they were glass enclosed and felt penned in - they didn’t look like the advertising photos The location was good with the beach and amenities close by Hairdryers have to be rented at 10 euros ... more

Our apartment was clean but in need of modernisation as it was very dated I didn’t use the pool areas as they were glass enclosed and felt penned in - they didn’t look like the advertising photos The location was good with the beach and amenities close by Hairdryers have to be rented at 10 euros a week plus deposit- not what I would expect to have to do as it’s a basic amenity

Celeste Apartments: Great location, close to the beach, square, and various shops and bars. Although the apartments had good balconies and were generally relaxing in the evening , some nights were disrupted by noisy neighbours blasting music from evening to early hours.Despite contacting staff, there was little support in managing the noise. Otherwise the place was as silent as a library- nobody spoke or laughed during the day, there was no excited laughter from kids or anything. You felt like you had to whisper. The apartments in block one are dated but this didn’t bother me. If you are used to staying in hotels then you might be disappointed as there are no frills. They are spacious and have all you need for a week. Positive Aspects: Fantastic location, great bars and restaurants nearby , pleasant staff. Negative Aspects: Noise issues at the apartments by neighbours , and a deep tiny pool with a glass wall around it which was off putting. We would not return and I would say it’s best suited to older solo travellers/couples.
