What a fabulous week we have had in Cala Blanca. I was very nervous about this holiday due to some poor reviews but I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely our stay has been. The food is fantastic. Yes there is only one restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but there is so many choices that you cannot possibly get bored. There is always the staples such as salad, pizza, chips, pasta and paella but there is a variation of vegetables, meats, fish and potatoes. The desserts were fabulous too and bread is so fresh and soft. Fruit juices were more like a cordial than fresh fruit juice but did the job. The drinks were great. Enjoyed some of the cocktails and the spirits were very good for non-branded spirits. I couldn't tell the difference. The coffee isn't great at breakfast but they do lovely lattes at the bar next door so we went there for our coffees and were never disappointed. The staff were amazing, from the reception to the housekeeping, the bar staff and especially the animation team. Always got a friendly hello from housekeeping, reception were always willing to help, bar staff got to know what drinks you wanted and how you liked them, especially Bilal, and the entertainment team were so good at getting everybody involved, but accepted when you didn't want to join in an activity. The evening entertainment was fantastic, probably the best out of all the holidays we have been on. The shows were all great, but the ones led by the animation team were the best! The comedy show had me crying with laughter, stars in their eyes was so entertaining and the flower power disco was so much fun! The beach is fantastic, really sandy and sea is warm to swim in. We had a mix of calm days where it was perfect to snorkel and some rougher days where it was fun to go in on our inflatables and bob on the waves. I did get stung by a jellyfish but the lifeguards on the beach were great and treated it for me and was fine the following day. The hotel itself is clean. We were placed in a refurbished room so it was very modern and comfortable so can't comment on the other rooms. We played lots of tennis whilst we were here, just need to book it at reception and the equipment is all provided. This was a fun activity that the whole family enjoyed of all ages. We tried padel too which you leave a deposit for but get back when you return the equipment. The pools were cold but we were extremely lucky with the weather for October so they were refreshing to dip in when it was a hot afternoon. It says no inflatables but we took ours in everyday and the lifeguard didn't say anything. You can use the facilities in both hotels, we wandered up to Cala Verde a couple of times because we preferred the look of the show that was there one evening. We didn't eat there but would be nice if you wanted a change of scenery one night. All in all, a fabulous stay, enjoyed by our whole family (2 adults, 15, 14, 13 and 6 year old), plenty to do and lots of fantastic memories made.

We were on half board for a week as a family in this resort. Overall, we found it very good value and had a good holiday. This is a solid 3 star hotel with lots of facilities for families with kids. And good service. Location is good for a relax holiday. Not much to do around except the resort itself, but the beach is great (though the sunbeds are 18-21 euro per day). A small supermarket nearby and a few good restaurants for lunch (the Bar Es Alocs on the beach is actually good value, the Es Figueral Vegetarian a bit further is a nice fancy change). With a rental car you can explore a bit more of the island, otherwise you depend on the hotel shuttles (paid) or the touristic train (expensive). Note that the hotel is on a hill next to the beach so there are lots of stairs indeed - but there are ways around most, but not all. The room was large and clean and as requested we got a room on the quiet side towards the adults pool. Good beds. Kettle and small fridge present. One thing that could be improved is the shower as there is no door and the whatever you do the water splashes out. Considering that all is wood around it it cannot be very good on the long term... The overall facilities are great: several swimming pools, including an indoor small one, each with a kids part. Unfortunately the water was super cold in October so we did not use the pools. Luckily the sea water was still warm enough for a swim. The kids enjoyed the Pirates Boat and the 2 playgrounds (one next to the restaurant and one at the mini club). Nice well maintained gardens. One thing a bit annoying is that there is basically only one restaurant in the whole resort. The location on the beach is great cause you can have a nice table outside and enjoy the sunset (or sunrise). But it is pretty crowded if the resort is full and indeed - there are annoying queues at the food stations. On the other hand - the food was great and varied, with themes and something to eat for everybody. The drinks were horrible - the coffee was one of the worse I had in a hotel (I do understand that they optimize for speed, but common...), the wine was not drinkable, the juices were just bad - the problem was that you could not get any better paid option as there was no drink service during dinner. One last thing is that smoking (including marijuana) seems allowed everywhere outside which is pretty annoying to be honest. This is more on the guests than the hotel but it feels a bit weird in a family hotel with lots of facilities for kids. All in all - although there are some improvement points I think that Invisa Cala Blanca was a good choice and certainly good value for money. Honestly we would probably try a different hotel next time we go to Ibiza but that does not change the fact that this is a good resort that could be great with some small improvements.

The hotel complex has both positives and negatives. This review is of our experience only and as you can read from the other reviews, experiences widely differ. This was our first time abroad with our two year old and four month old. I had spent many weeks leading up to the holiday agonising over the poor reviews so wanted to leave a review of my own. Firstly we booked through a travel agent (an actual person we could message) we knew we would be based in the Cala blanca so there was no 3* 4* issue for us. At check in, the lady Jana was cheery and helpful. At this point, two separate holiday makers were in the process of complaining about the rooms which didn’t bode well for us. All I wanted was a clean, safe base with a travel cot and thankfully that is what we got. We were in the block above reception and at first glance, very basic, decor outdated however by the end of the week my husband and I agreed it was perfect for what we needed. Pool view which was handy due to the location. Facilities at the Casa Blanca were great for families. We used two of the three pools including the water park at the middle level. Loads of sun loungers available and we didn’t have to be up at the crack of dawn to get them. Even though we were always first at the pool due to having a toddler. You get free towels to use and change during your stay but just be mindful when you need them the room to collect them doesn’t open until 10am. Food had good choices for us. We enjoyed breakfast early and watched the sunrise. No queue when we got there at 7.45am each day. Lunch was the same and we ate around half 1/2pm. Dinner times were a bit busier but we got to sit and eat outside apart from one day. The queue to eat from the buffet was a bit bizarre. People queuing to choose but not choosing from that area. It would have worked better people just milling about. Food was fresh and there was always a good selection. Some dishes were hit and miss but that’s at any food establishment. The servers are friendly and work hard. As we visited at the end of the season one of the restaurants was closed which I think was poor choice from management as this would have stopped the complaints from others. We unfortunately had to use the 24hr drs visit but the lady at the desk was super helpful and we were seen quickly. No major illness. Entertainment was good. We didn’t stay out to watch the whole events due to young children but they make an effort. Finally, we also experienced the Yoga group. Without tarring them all with the same brush, I was glad we were leaving the day after they arrived. Some were rude and took up Lots of space they didn’t need. Those mats seem to be attached to them. They were loud on a silent disco. Yes the irony. I thought it was unfair that there was no noise curfew for them but if that had been a group of drunk travellers they would have been reprimanded. Hearing Kate Bush butchered whilst trying to get my children to sleep past 9.30pm was not a highlight. I do believe the hotel should make people aware out of season timings and what they put on in place. I’d be interested to see how reviews go over English half term as the shows had stopped and it seemed to somewhat be winding down. Overall we enjoyed our first time abroad but I am mindful we seem lucky in some aspects. On a side note we walked to the Cala Verde which is open to all and was a nice change of scenery.

Despite recommendations from my local agent I was hesitant especially after some of the reviews. 2 days in I would have said its a 2 rating but by the end I was into the swing of the holiday. As many say most UK families end up in the Cala Blanca which is 3*. Most of the photos on the Jet2 site show Cala Verde. So initially I was disappointed however we had a really lovely stay. Pros. Very clean resort Peaceful location Beautifully landscaped surroundings Close to beach, which is a smallish bay but great for chilling and swimming in the sea, plenty of fish to be seen if you like snorkelling. Comfortable beds We had an evening flight, could jeep oir room until midday and use all facilities and restaurant, there is a free luggage room too. Cons We needed a 1 bedroom apartment so paid extra, it was very very basic, (but it was clean and did the job we needed) Take own hairdryer although there is one its useless (I believe the Inspire rooms are better) The restaurant was also very dated (see pics) and most of the tables are inside. (But again very clean and staff are very efficient) Whilst plenty of food on offer there was not much variety, they did some specialities but most days it was cold meats, salads, breads, array of veg done various ways, a veg or traditional paella, plain pasta with a sauce, whitefish and then a special. (But again there is enough to have something and the quality was always very good) Although there was an area for kids it was unused. Had to queue for alcoholic drinks for mealtimes and the glasses are very small. The pools are freezing which was a huge disappointment, the sea was far warmer!! Some people have mentioned it's hilly and not easy to walk around Unless you have mobility issues and a low level of fitness I don't think that's a problem for many. So even the cons aren't so bad. Main issue for us AVOID 3rd week in October - hotel used for a Yoga retreat, there were over 100 of them, they took over a large proportion of the complex, majority were ignorant of other guests, we were woken 3 mornings at 7.45 by the tannoy system they used outside for doing the classes! Also limited the hotels shows that were on that week as the yoga classes ran from 7.45am til 9pm!! For us the following would have really made the difference Heated pools Better variety of food between days Modernised rooms and restaurant No yogis! (And I like yoga!) So not a lot to improve upon and we had a really relaxing time 2x adults 1x teen
