Fantastic B & B week away for mys wife & I. Great value for money. Very Clean. Good Breakfast. Beautiful views. Clean pool. Very nr the Europa centre and the amazing Barbacoa Bar. “Good place to stay but very hilly”

First time in Gran Canaria, staying in Colina Mar, Rooms very good, cleaned every other day, we were all inclusive, food and drink adequate, some entertainment was good some very disappointing ( magician) Rules for sun beds were not adhered to, they were taken before 7am each morning.

Was uncertain about the hotel after reading some of the reviews, this was my opinion . We went all inclusive which I would recommend , watched other families buying pizzas and chips and burgers and sharing them out with their family's and it would all add up better doing the AI. Breakfast was good Lunch always good choice Dinner always a few good choices , never went hungry and I am fussy . Always got a seat outdoors with magnificent views , you could just sit all day looking at the view. Drinks were good enough large plastic cups around pool , but glasses in the evening or sitting at the tables for lunch and dinner. The main pool was busy beds all gone at one side by the time I went down about 9.30, but always got a bed at side of the main bar area or the terraces by the restaurant which was always empty , nice and peaceful away from the loud music that plays from 11.00 am , the other pool always had lots of beds , so no issues there and the hotel was at capacity. The entertainment team were fab lots going on to keep kids and adults involved if you wanted , evening too, start with a quiz, then live music then bingo . We used to then head to Europa centre to finish the evening. Good bars with music there too. Book trips there get the bus to the waterpark in Maspalomas for €9.00 and Yiu can buy the tickets there too. Lots of taxis down to beach €6.50 to Puerto Rico beach and to Amdadores Beach €5.00, where there is the water inflatables €10 for 1 hour or €25 for the day , well worth the money. Rooms were okay nothing fancy but clean and functional , good big television with lots of channels. No air condition but did not need it out room was cool the whole 11 nights. Room 313 , cleaned with fresh towels every other day. Nice marble white floors which makes it look nice. And clean. I wasn't expecting much and initially going into the hotel at night and finding way to room I wasn't too impressed, however I loved our stay there and would return and would recommend . Lots of nice places on the beaches for lunch and drinks .

The apartments were basic but adequately equipped the swimming pools were lovely and heated I swam everyday my big bug bear is the towels been placed on sun loungers before 9am and not been returned to for hours even though it is stated not to do this the hotel I feel.need tl be stricter with this rule and I like to swim when the pool is empty and I had no where to put my towel even at 9am which is ridiculous . Things to bear in mind when booking this hotel is the mountain the hotel.ks built on so people who have issues with walking etc would struggle.also.i feel the hotel can be noisy and it certainly isn't for everyone so if your looking for a relaxing chilled holiday this night not be for you . I felt the all inclusive was ok no frills but you get what you pay for always something to eat and most staff was lovelly.and friendly except for one bar man who was rude and ignored you half the time . The night time.entertainment was as you expect mediocre and nobidy stood out for me however the use of audience participation made it more enjoyable. The views are undoubtedly stunning but as I have preciously always stayed in maspalomas many times before the man made beach of puerto rico just wasn't the same I'm glad we hired a car so I got my regular fix of the beautiful Atlantic ocean . The hotel is very brit dominated which suited me and it has a younger vibe as as we went into July it was filled with young families and kids it did get quite hard in the evenings to get a seat for the entertainment too so.anotjer thing to.comsider if you want a more chilled couple holiday there are the sun terraces to sunbathe on if you want to.move away from the main pools and I enjoyed the more quiet private loungers as the main pool can get very busy and loud . There is the shopping center and bars just down the road from.the hotel.and crazy golf which I visited a few times and that was fun and cheap at 5.50 each there is also.a gym and saunas on site which qas a nice added touch . At present there is some.maintemce work going on around the hotel so it can be noisy in certain places . The rooms are cleaned most days but there was a smell of sewerage that was around.most days .I read some bad reviews on this hotel before.comimg here and lots of it was a bit harsh as we booked 11 nights and got it at a good price it is a 3 Star and this is what you have to bear in mind it's cheap.and no frills je staff work long hours and tirelessly and you have to respect that as a middle aged young at heart couple I met this hotel with open eyes and I dont have any real complaints except the towels on sun lounger issue which I felt a bit selfish of people if I'm honest I have a little quibble if the safety of some of the barriers around been loose so I dont recommend you lean on them as you will fall.on the mountain if they was to give way overall the sun shome every day as the canarian sun always does I love gran canaria but I won't be staying in puerto rico again its not the same vibe as maspalomas but this is not a negative against the colina it was great to see to enjoy and to.soak up the sun and I certainly came home this morning with a heavy heart at leaving the beautiful island behind .. special mention to Renata on reception lovely helpful and friendly lady and to the lady in the shop lovely ladies keep up the good work. Also recommend spirit of the sea dolphin hunting trip been twice and saw some.amazing sights of lots of dolphins and we also went on the marlin sea fishing trip.with blue marlin and cavalier and seen some.tuna been caught I definately.recommend boat trips whilst staying there and also visit the Irish bars great atmosphere food and drink at reasonable prices ... and go crazy golf too... enjoy
