The room and balcony were a good size, comfortable and well appointed. The bed, pillows etc were very comfortable. There was a great variety of good food at the breakfast and dinner buffets. I was out cycling every day, so didn't spend any time at the pool but if looked nice. I'd certainly return to this hotel.

“A very special hotel”

Amazing hotel and staff. On arrival we were greeted with a glass of cava and our bags were taken to our room. The room, some have said they are dated and need updating but I felt they were traditional, welcoming and cosy. Personally I loved the decor. The gardens were manicured and the pool/pool bar was clean and well maintained. The staff around the pool area were great and provided the lounger cushions and happy to re-position umbrellas. The restaurant, food was lovely with a good selection to suit all tastes. All inclusive, included local and imported spirits. Staff, they were all very friendly and always smiling. Guests, most I would say when we stayed were of the older generation but also very friendly. Evening entertainment , only listened from our room one night but there was a female singer with a great voice singing older tunes but really enjoyed the song choices. Daytime entertainment, it’s a shame that we didn’t join in until the end of the stay as we had a great time with rifle shooting, archery, pétanque and darts. We had a lot of fun with the other guests participating. A nice touch - restaurant had cards to show they were occupied once chosen. Waiter service at dinner for drinks. Waiter service providing pots of tea/coffee at breakfast. Also, the juices were fresh and not concentrated. CONS - I thought hard about this and there really isn’t any so just to be picky the pool bar opens at 11am so there is a break in all inclusive from when breakfast ends at 10:30 but you could always grab a juice or wine before the restaurant closes. So not really a negative at all. Thank you to all the staff that made this a great holiday.

Recommended this hotel by another couple and it did not disappoint. The hotel is perfectly placed and has strategically placed exits to minimise distance to beach, the shops, the Yumbo and the Kasbah. The accessibility is excellent, although it is good to read the signage, as sometimes you can miss them and end up at the other side of the hotel! (Part of the experience!!). The rooms, balconies, gardens and communal areas are exceptionally clean. The service in the buffet restaurant (All Inclusive) is like having a large choice of a la carte food and being able to choose elements of each.... very good. The earlier serving times are the busiest, so we waited until around 9 and it was a full menu but quieter. There are always sun loungers available around the pool and terrace, however you may need to be a little earlier to grab one near the pool. The pool is great, very clean and not busy, considering the amount of people in the hotel. The pool bar is in a great place having some seating around it, however it can be busy with cocktails so the main bar in the restaurant is a good alternative when busy. This is a multi cultural/language hotel that caters for everyone It is our second time coming to the hotel and we are now booking again for next year at the same time. With further recommendations, the group booking is growing!

This is my third visit to the Sandy Beach Hotel. Other reviewers mention receiving a drink on arrival which did not happen in my case. I requested a sunny room, but was given a room towards the eastern end of the hotel, near the fire escape. The November sun did not reach my balcony until about 4, so I spent some mornings sunbathing on the roof terraces via the fire escape. The "superior" room was a decent size square room and a small dressing room. The use of the safe has to be paid for. There is a kettle, but you have to fill out a form if you want tea and coffee supplies, which I did and supplies were delivered later in the day. There was a complimentary small bottle of water and a small bottle of wine. There is a useful list of TV channels (see photo) and plenty of English speaking channels (BBC, etc). There was a smell of drains in the bathroom and occasionally elsewhere. The restaurant is mainly outside. On my first night I joined the queue to wait for a table. I was seated alongside a German couple. Having been before, I expected the tightly packed seating, but it's not something I feel entirely comfortable with. As I left the restaurant, I looked inside the interior dining room and there were a few people there, with plenty of empty tables. Thereafter I always sat inside as it was more spacious with brighter lighting. The low hanging lights were constantly being hit. In the morning, the sunshine flooded in. I entered the restaurant from the fire escape end and no queue. I observed the queue at the other end and wondered why guests are not given the option to sit inside? On a couple of evenings there was heavy rain, so the interior dining room was busy, with extra tables set up in the bar area. Rubber mats and towels were laid down outside which you had to step carefully over to reach the buffet. The food seemed to cater for the German palate. I enjoyed the food, but there wasn't a lot of choice, compared to other hotels I have been to. Salt and pepper pots were in short supply and guests were having to get up to find them! The "Available/Occupied" cards on the tables seemed to work well. The evening entertainment was low key with one or two singers in the bar which had a capacity of about 80 seats. There is a small library hidden away in the Reception area. According to some Facebook posts, the hotel will be refurbished in 2026. As some reviewers have commented, the hotel is a little dated, but the current furnishings are absolutely fine and have a traditional look. I think the buffet area could do with some reorganisation to improve the flow. I hope that the refurbishment doesn't take away the distinctiveness of the hotel and I may return in 2027 to give my verdict! During my stay, most guests were retired German speaking couples. , Finally, I fell in love with the new receptionist (see photo)!
