Not a fancy hotel but a great deal for a last minute booking. With hindsight, I wouldn't stay in such a noisy neighbourhood again. Without air-conditioning you need windows open and there's a cacophony of entertainment outside. This did affect our sleep quality. If this doesn't bother you then the hotel is a good choice. Easy walk to the beach, near supermarket, by bus stops. Friendly staff though the hotel is geared to German guests. Luckily neither of us have dietary requirements and enjoyed at least 90% of what we ate and there was plenty of choice. I suggest water be offered complimentary in the restaurant or at least a fairer price. Alcohol was reasonably priced. Pleasant quiet guests / atmosphere. Rooms and pool etc all very clean. We really like having an apartment rather than just a room. We really enjoyed the sunrises in the morning, a pleasant view. Drying area on balcony very useful. Takes ages to boil water on the hob. We didn't prep food but kitchen was equipped enough for us. A lidded bathroom bin would be much nicer. Overall, a relaxing stay.

Booked up last minute for my 60th looking for some winter sun. Stayed at the Principado for one week on a half board basis. Very short transfer from the airport which was handy on arrival check-in was very easy and the guy behind reception very friendly and helpful. The room was a one bedroom apartment with balcony over looking the pool and distant sea views, plenty big enough for us the only down side was twin beds and not a double (its been so many years since I have been in a single forgotten how small they are....or maybe I just got bigger) Room cleaned every morning by a charming young woman. The food in the restaurant was good with plenty of choice for all tastes. One down side was that the bar was not open in the evening but this maybe because it was early in the season which is a pity because the prices for drinks was very cheap indeed. Hotel is situated fine, not to far from the beach and plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance. If you want to go further afield in the day the bus stop is just across the road and they are quite frequent and cheap to use. Over all a very pleasant week away in the sun.

We were staying on "the new side" for a week. + Location + Cleanliness + Room size + Big balcony with nice street view + Breakfast + Dinner + Nice Christmas decorations + Pool table (1€ a game) + Outdoor lights – Beds are without mattress pad = hard – Using hot water lowered the water pressure considerably – The fridge is more like a freezer = everything froze – Music is heard until about 12 o'clock from the nearby restaurants – Door and luggage noises in the morning – We weren't informed about the pool towel/sunbed policy - had to find out ourselves – The pool is not heated Tips: > Use the sunbed mattresses as mattress pads in beds > Use the included shower gel's cap to keep the faucet pin up > Check the shopping center next to the hotel, it's quite versatile

Hi. Just got back from the hotel after spending a week there after a week in Porto Rico. The room's are basic and stuck in the 1970 . It really could use an upgrade. They use single beds instead of doubles and are small. But saying all that the hotel is ok. You are 5 minutes from everything. Beaches ' and bars ' jumbo center. It's a three star hotel but the food is 4 star plus . It really is that good. I was eating steak. Lamb. Duck the lot. Now where the hotel is located it's in the German quarter so everybody at the hotel was German. We think that we were the only Brits there as couldn't hear another English voice elsewhere. Don't get me wrong mine people still talk to you but it's difficult to converse. Not fifty yards away as the crow flies. Is the little center where it holds German bars. All of them infact. Spend a few nights there drinking. And chatting the best we could and the people were ok. Back to the hotel. The staff are nice and helpful but once or twice forgot to clean everything in the room. Bins etc etc. Telly is all German and the only English talking was the French. 24 news channel. Location is good. And bus stop on the corner. Going down to the beach. You must climb down an hundred steps or more walk across the square over the strip with its bars and restaurants then over to the beach. Coming back. If you don't fancy the steps. A taxi back to the hotel is only 3 and a half euros. All in all. Nice hotel. Good food and location. But be warned. If you want a good matter in English. Then forget it. We had been to play del Ingles twice before but didn't realize that they were spilt into different quarters. English , German,. Dutch, etc.
