I stayed here for 2 weeks over October / November I booked via booking.com. The booking was not directly arranged with the apartments but through a 3rd party , Monica. The only difference is that Monica deals with everything for you. Reception will not assist. But Monica is only a WhatsApp message away and I had no need to contact her for anything other than the safe key. The apartments are spacious. Like most apartments the units can probably do with a refurb but this is common on the island. The room was clean. Large kitchen seating area. Separate lounge area down a couple of stairs. Microwave, kettle, coffee machine, iron and ironing board and hair dryer are all in the room. The pool area is the big bonus here. It’s immaculate and very large. Lots of sun beds. No early morning bed rush. The last time I visited there were pads to use on the sun Beds, but because of COVID this has been withdrawn. The pool area is cleaned every day. Although reception won’t assist they are very pleasant when approached. I love the apartments. I will happily return. Great location on the Main Street a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Yumbo.

We stayed here over Christmas 2020, quite by accident - the accommodation we had booked was closed for renovation (without telling us) and we were rescued by the manager of Tamaran. We liked it very much here: the apartment was compact but comfortable (not luxurious) with a big balcony overlooking the pool (with friendly lifeguards) and beyond that to the sea; we were surrounded by food shops so we could self-cater but there were so many really good restaurants close by, we ate out for dinner. The location was excellent, right in the swing of things: we were able to walk or get a bus to the beach and other locations like the botanic garden and the lighthouse. There was an Italian restaurant/bar within the hotel (open during the day and weekends for dinner) where the food and service were terrific. We had such a lovely time on Christmas Eve with a gourmet six-course meal cooked by Luca and beautiful singing from our host Ivan; I don't normally like karaoke but this was such fun, including songs chosen specially for us English visitors. It felt very moving at the end of this extraordinary year when the UK was leaving the EU and we had been in lockdown for so long. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful and took a personal interest in us. We would be happy to go back any time.

The Tamaran are like a lot of apartments in the Canaries. Built a long time ago and a bit dated. I’ve added some pictures to show the kitchen units and bathroom ceiling but the apartments are very clean, spacious and definitely worth a visit. The apartment itself was massive. Balcony leading into seating area with tv, no English channels I could find, duplex style up to seated eating area and kitchen area. The kitchen has microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. Further along hall is bathroom with walk in shower. Spacious room. Dreaded shower curtain. Shower head was adequate but could do with being updated. Lots and lots of hot water though - no issue here. Along the hall again was a spacious twin bedroom. Double wardrobes. Iron, ironing board, hairdryer. Beds were very comfortable. Probably one of the most comfortable I’ve had abroad. Safe is in one of the wardrobes. €15 for a week. €10 refundable deposit and it’s digital so no chunky keys to deal with. My maid was there 6 out of 7 days. Towels changed every other day. Place was kept very clean. There’s also a drying screen on the balcony. All balconies overlook the pool Pool is immaculate. Large. Lots of sun beds and padded mats for use. Lifeguard there all day. There is also a cafe on site that will do poolside snacks or beers. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I arrived at 1pm and had no issue checking in early. I had no issues so no need to visit reception other than saying hi when I passed. The Cita centre is around the corner from the apartments. The Yumbo is a 10 minute walk maximum - straight up Tirajana. There are supermarkets and lots of restaurants across from the apartments. The beach is a 10 minute walk away too. This is the first time I’ve ventured to this area when in Playa for accommodation. I would go back to Tamaran in a minute. We normally go away as a 3 and the spacious apartment would be ideal. Definitely no feeling of living on top of each other. If you are looking for clean apartments in a good area with good facilities, visit Tamaran. You won’t be disappointed.
