“Great base from which to explore the area”
This was our 2nd visit to Terraza Amadores and it didn't disappoint again. This time we took family and friends with us & they were just as delighted as we were. This was our 2nd visit to Terraza Amadores and it didn't disappoint again. This time we took family and friends with us & they were just as delighted as we were. The lovely lady on reception can't do enough to help and check in was very smooth. Last time we were in one of the 2 bedroomed apartments on the ground floor, this time we were on the 2nd floor with glimpses of the Atlantic ocean. The apartments have everything you could need for your break & are kept spotlessly clean by the staff who are very friendly and helpful. The balcony is a good size with a table, 4 chairs and 2 sunloungers. The bedroom has a huge wardrobe complete with a safe for your personal belongings. Bong, who runs the cafe bar, was his usual smiley self and we enjoyed a couple of lunches in his bar. The pool area is always spotless and there's always a sunbed to be found, no towels needed at dawn lol. The apartments are only a few minutes stroll from the beach where there are lots of bars, restaurants and shops plus the sunbeds of course. From Amadores you can walk the coastal path to Puerto Rico or go the other way to Playa Tauro (don't tell everyone about this peaceful beach!!) then on to Playa del Cura, probably a half hour walk. All in all Terraza has everything you could need.....oh wifi is spot on in the rooms too. Easy to connect.

If you can get past the slight 'dated-ness' of this aparthotel, it's really a great place to stay. The apartments are very spacious, comfortable and clean. The balconies are huge. They are cleaned, and towels are replaced every second day. The location is really excellent. It is about a 5 minute walk to Playa de Amadores which is a lovely beach, with a great selection of restaurants. We ate really well during our stay. (Las Caracolas and Aqui restaurants stood out.) There is a Spar shop pretty much on site, which is really handy. Puerto Rico is a 20 minute walk along the pedestrian coastal walkway, (not on Google maps - they say an hour via main roads). You can also get a taxi. The taxi rank is beside the beach and we never waited more that about 2 minutes for a taxi. There was actually usually one waiting, and never a problem on the way back. (Costs approximately €6.) You could also get a taxi to Mogan , (€16 approx.) which is a nice little town that has a great market on a Friday.

“Great location”
Ideal location within walking distance of puerto rico and a couple of min walk to the beach with lots of restaurants. very clean apartments and with the spar onsite you have everything at hand. Bongs sunday bbq is not to be missed , great value for money.

“Missing Bong so much!”

2nd solo trip to Gran Canaria 2nd stay at terrazza amadores. Brilliant stay at Christmas and was even lucky to get the same room as before. Lovely and chilled no problem getting a sunbed. Lovely big, clean rooms and extremely close to amadores beach which was within walking distance. Rooms cleaned every other day with bed change and fresh towels. Stayed B&B but to be honest only made it once due to not waking early enough. But good satisfactory breakfast. As ever the one thing that made my stay was the legendary Bong who runs the poolside bar, was lucky enough to arrive in time for his bbq night on Sunday, it’s out of this world. He is one of the loveliest people I’ve met and makes everyone feel so welcome and I can’t wait stay again. Going back In may but to a different hotel as was fully booked but will definitely go back just to visit Bong…!

“Cheap and cheerful!”

My wife and I stayed for a week on a B&B basis last month. We wanted a cheap holiday in the sun after another recent holiday and that’s what we got. First drop off from airport and took 40 minutes. Never stayed in a self catering apartment and was pleasantly surprised. Loads of space with a large terrace with side sea views. Attached Spar shop was handy and reasonably priced for local products. Breakfast was fine….could also order omelettes and bacon. Pool area was ok and never had a problem getting a sun lounger later in the morning. Within walking distance to Amadores beach and 20 minutes to the much livelier Puerto Rico. Shame we didn’t get to meet the legend that is Bong (on a well deserved break back home) but we did meet his son. He is also a legend in the making (hard working, polite, friendly etc). Happy hour at Bong’s Bar between 4pm and 5pm (two beers for 3 euros and 2 for 1 cocktails). Room safe cost us 18 euros in cash. Couldn’t stay here in the summer as there is no air conditioning. There is a shower room provided free of charge if you have a late return flight. Overall, would suit older couples looking for a cheap getaway in the sun.
