Hotel Chatur Palmera Mar

Upon arrival we were greeted in a very friendly way by the reception staff. We were shown to our apartment. It was on the 8th floor and had fantastic views of the Amadores beach 🏖️. The apartment was well equipped. There was an area with a kettle and a fridge and a cupboard to store food items etc. There was a sofa/sofa bed (we didn’t need the sofa bed) and armchair in the lounge area. The bedroom had two very comfortable 3ft beds with lots of cupboard space and two bedside cabinets. There was a very useful safe with easy instructions in the bedroom wardrobe. On the large balcony there was two sun loungers and a table and two chairs with plenty of room to move about. You could look down to the pool area. The cleaning staff kept the room very clean and we had fresh towels every day and could have the bed linen changed as often as we liked. There was a snack bar by the pool that was open from 8.30/9.00 to early evening. The breakfast area was great. You could either sit inside or enjoy the views from the terrace area. We had the bed and breakfast option. There was plenty to choose from for breakfast, full English, cereals, fruits, yogurts, cheeses and hams, toast, pastries, donuts and small cakes. There was a Lavazza coffee machine. The coffees were lovely, milk coffee, cappuccino, espresso and several other options. It also dispensed water to make tea. They even had Cava on ice if you fancied it. Abel the restaurant guy was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. He was kept busy clearing up so that we could enjoy our breakfast without clutter on the table. The Swedish gentleman on the reception was very friendly and we enjoyed several chats with him upon our return to the hotel each evening. He helped us with useful information about the resort. The hotel is situated about a 10/15 minute walk downhill to Amadores beach. There is a shuttle that leaves from Palmera Mar at 11am which takes you to the Amadores car park and returns from the car park at 4.30 each afternoon. The beach is perfect for couples and families alike. It is a very safe beach for children as it has a protected area for swimming. There are plenty of sun loungers (€15 euros for 2). At the back of the beach there are loads of restaurants, gift shops and stores where you can buy, beach clothing, inflatables, drinks and much more. There is a walkway (1000 metres) that goes along the side of the rocks that takes you to Puerto Rico beach and marinas. This is a lovely place to take a stroll. If you fancy a nice day out go on the ferry to Mogán (Little Venice). Plenty of restaurants and bars, a small beach with sun loungers and a pleasant walk around the town. If you go on a Friday there is a large market. It can get quite busy. The local bus services are great. We went to Maspalomas on the bus and it only cost €6.20 for both of us one way We had a day out on the SeaCat. It took us to see the dolphins 🐬. We then went back to the marina to drop off the people on the dolphin trip only and we were then taken back out so that we could enjoy the water sports on offer. There was a jet boat, parascending and banana rides. There was an additional cost for these. Our overall opinion of the Palmera Mar hotel is that it is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel with plenty of facilities.
