Our group of 6 adults and 6 children stayed here last month and had the best time! I struggle to understand the poor reviews. I'll give my experience below... Hotel is kept very clean and tidy. Yes there are a few cockroaches to be scuttling around, but it's like rats in London, you can't always keep them away! The family room was very spacious and clean. Yes it is slightly dated, but I don't spend my holiday in the room staring at the tired looking curtains, so I really wasn't fussed! No cutlery, cups or kettle in the room! So pack if needed, I bought my own pop up travel kettle. Shower was powerful and worked well, the tv was good, we bought along our amazon fire stick so we could use Netflix etc connected to the hotels free WiFi (which also works well) FOOD Food was excellent for a 3 star. Every night there was fresh pizzas, pasta bake, spaghetti with various toppings you can add yourself, chips, nuggets, fresh fish and meat being cooked on the grill. In the week we were there we had curry, lasagne, beef stew, chicken wings, fajitas, nachos, tacos, gyros, roast beef, roast pork, mash, calamari, onion rings, potato bake, steak, moussaka, jalapeño poppers, paella, just a few things I can remember off the top of my head, honestly there was such a variety every evening and very enjoyable. Breakfast was the same every day, various cereals, fresh fruit, croissants, doughnuts, muffins, then all the full English cooked breakfast items. Snack bar around the hotel pool was also good, ham & cheese toasties were lovely! The soft drinks around the pool and inside the restaurant are self service which is handy. No grumbles at all from our group regarding the food, all the children aged between 4-12 always found something enjoyable to eat. POOLS Hotel pool is fine, just a tad small. Water park is brilliant, very busy but can always get a sun bed. People complain that the water park is sea water, but none of us found it a problem. My daughter and partner suffer with sensitive skin and both of them were ok. You do have to pay for food and drink at the water park, but we just bought some drinks over in a bag and no one said anything. Water park is suitable for all ages, huge slides, toddler pools and slides, something for everyone. LOCATION This would be my own grumble, the hotels location is very tucked away and in a rural area (but this isn't the hotels fault) you have a supermarket right outside the hotel, various sovuiner shops, you could spend a good hour looking in them all, but then that's it. A taxi into Puerto rico is around €14-€15 each way (lots to do there) and takes no more than 10 minutes. There is also the bus, bus stop outside the hotel every 30 minutes, less than €2 each. However, DO NOT go if cliff edges make you nervous. I learnt the hard way with this, a big bus flying round bendy mountain rounds with a sheer 50ft drop down into the sea, never again! Beach is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. THINGS TO DO 2 beach front restaurants less than 5 minute walk away. Cannot reccomend Sunset Taurito enough, went there 1 night for a meal and the steak was incredible and so reasonably priced. Went for drinks on a couple of evenings, wonderful cocktails, karaoke, staff are lovely. They have an excursions booth just outside the hotel, lots of boat trips and water sport activities. Highly recommend Maspalomas beach, about €13 each way in a taxi, but a truly beautiful beach (attached photo of the beach) Every Friday is Mogan Market 8am-2pm, well worth a look around, knock off bags, clothing etc. Around €20 each way in a taxi, you can also get the bus, but it's 2 buses you need to take. The hotel has lots to do for kids, mini golf, bowling alley, pool tables, air hockey, arcades, ballpit, trampolines, a fair ground ride for little kids, candy floss stand, ice creams etc. These are reasonably priced, €5 for 30 min in ballpit, €5 for bungee trampolines, €5 adult and €3 child for bowling etc. It does end up adding up throughout your holiday, must've easily spent €150 alone to keep the kids occupied of a night time. These are all located around the entertainment/stage area. Entertainment is very average, they really do try though. But please don't bank on being entertained every evening, there's also a massive shortage of picnic benches around the entertainment, by 7pm they're often all taken. All in all, we had a brilliant week. We paid £1800 for 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 week all inclusive. It was 100% worth every penny. Please do remember this is a 3 star hotel. I have stayed in lots of 3 and 4 star hotels all over Europe, this is one of the best 3 stars I've stayed in, and even better than a few 4 stars. The staff work very hard and I always found them polite too. I was very worried when I first booked this hotel and saw the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised!
