“Excellent resort”

We had a brilliant time at this resort. We were there for a fortnight with our friends. Cant complain about anything. We had a brilliant time at this resort. We were there for a fortnight with our friends. Cant complain about anything. I am very fussy as to what I eat and managed to plate up a decent meal most nights, only twice resorting to a salad. This is a very quiet and relaxing resort and may not suit everyone but it certainly ticked all the boxes for us and we have already booked a return visit for a fortnight next September.

This is our 4th time at Canary Gardens, we obviously like it to keep coming back. Staff are friendly some remembered us from previous visits. Evening buffet is good, lunchtime menu good, food is cooked to order obviously to stop waste, grilled fish, tuna salad, pork chops, kebabs are some items on the menu. Entertainment every night ,singing,guitarist etc. If you want disco or bingo perhaps Benidorm would be the best place, most people like the peaceful atmosphere with no blaring music. Met some lovely people and we will be back.

Hotel was chilled and relaxing with friendly helpful staff Good choice and variety of food. Lunch served at table, always prompt and plentiful Bungalow accommodation and outdoor space was great. Plenty of sun beds at pool and seating always available at bar and restaurant. Live music each evening but not annoyingly loud. Mainly easy listening. Daily room cleaning. Regular courtesy bus to/from beach and lighthouse. Although no shops handy there are at other end of courtesy bus trip. More commercially developed areas easily reached by the plenty of cheap and almost instant taxis. Large street market on Saturdays and Wednesdays in Playa del Ingles (10 minutes by taxi, about €8 each way) Dolphin-watching boat tour well worth the trip.

Just returned from a 2nd stay here and again, we had a fantastic time The bungalows consist of a lounge area, with a small kitchenette if you're self catering, a bedroom with double and single beds, large bathroom with walk in rainfall/power shower, large terrace with table, chairs and 2 sunbeds, all with small garden areas. They all have good air-conditioning, fridge and 2 TV's with BBC1, ITV and Netflix in the lounge area (one room didn't have the English channels but a quick chat with reception and someone was sent out to sort this). I know you don't come away.to watch TV but we had a bungalow to ourselves,so it was nice to have it on in the background. The whole complex is beautiful and modern....having recently been refurbished. It is very flat so great for people with reduced mobility and there were several people with wheelchairs or mobility walkers. The only area not accessible to disabled, is the courtesy room which was initially a problem as the complex was full, so we couldn't pay to keep the bungalow on, like we did last year, but they kindly found us a bungalow for mum to shower in We were all inclusive and despite being a fussy eater, I found the food to be good. Breakfast and dinner are buffet and lunch is cooked to order from a menu, with a very good choice. The roast pork on the carvery on Canary night was delicious both weeks and so tender. The only problem was that dinner finished quite early and even then, 20 minutes before they stopped serving, they had run out of desserts most days, which isn't really acceptable. Drinks were excellent and unless around the pool area, you were given proper glasses, even pint glasses for beer and jugs available for wine and Sangria. Even the reusable plastic cups were of a good size and there were 2 sizes available. I found the drink selection, although local spirits, to be very good. A jug of Sangria mixed with peach schnapps was delicious 😋 Staff are all lovely in every department. They always speak with a smile on their face despite working very hard and long hours. There was a new young man that started in the restaurant/bar whilst we were there. He was so lovely and tried really hard, if not a bit nervous. He will do very well but I did feel a bit sorry for him as, the staff who have been there a long time, could have been more supportive and looking in, it seemed a bit clicky amongst the staff, which is a shame. I hope he sticks it out and starts to fit in more....I just wanted to give him a big hug The place is spotless throughout. There is never a fight for sunbeds around the pool area. When we went for breakfast just before 9am, there were hardly any beds reserved, although you always get 1 or 2 that do, as they want their special spot. Plenty of parasols around the pool but it would be good to have some shade on the tables next to the pool bar. They were often empty as it was just too hot in the sun, which is a shame There is no daytime entertainment but there is always a singer/group every evening in the summer....some better than others. By far, the duo on every Sunday evening, were by far the best. They went on for much longer and got the crowd involved. Saying that, there were a few good acts There is a small shop in the apartment complex opposite and it's not far to walk to Holiday World Maspalomas. It's about 30 minutes walk to the lighthouse and the promenades at Maspalomas and Meloneras. There is also a regular free bus throughout the day and taxis are about €5 Due to mum's reduced mobility, we got taxis instead of buses. A taxi to Puerto Mogan was about €35 each way. Apparently the bus service is excellent and I'd definitely recommend visiting the resort All in all, we had a great time and plan to return next September There wasn't a Facebook group for the Hotel so I have just set one up called "Canary Garden Club in Maspalomas" .
