What a spectacular location! I fell asleep each night to the sound of the waves crashing onto the beach below, and woke up each morning to the same. Idyllic. Almost everything about our apartment was perfect. Spacious, clean, well organised and well maintained. All of the staff demonstrated a real care for the experiences of the guests in their establishment. The apartments themselves are perhaps forty or so years old (I'm guessing here), and a couple of aspects could potentially be modernised, but much already had been. The enormous terrace was amazing, with clear views across the bay toward Las Dunas de Maspalomas. I'm not the best at simply relaxing on holiday but this time I spent hours just laying on my lounger and watching the world go by. Inside the apartment everything you could conceivably need is on hand, except maybe a kettle. I'm a keen self caterer and could easily prepare meals in the well equipped kitchen. The two ring induction hob was effective and, I suspect, a recent addition. The bed was to die for, but unfortunately now means I'm charged with the expense of buying a new, larger one at home! Our apartment was maintained every day by a friendly and cheerful local lady from Vecindario, who provided copious fresh towels, swept up the inevitable sand and made the bed. If it's peace and quiet that you seek this is a great choice. There's no traffic noise, the beach is often practically your own, it takes just two minutes to walk down to the sand. There's ample free street parking if you have a hire car. Spaces can be limited at times but I never had to park more than 200m from the entrance. San Augustin is probably one of the more exclusive neighborhoods in the local area, with few big hotels or apartment blocks. For the self caterer there's a reasonably priced Spar shop about three minutes walk away, and a HyperDino just beyond that. For access to the island's delights you're just five minutes or so from the GC1. Surrounded by peaceful and tranquil gardens, beautifully tended and complete with resident lizards, it's so easy to chill here. Would I stay again? I'd still be there now if I didn't have to fly home last night to return to work tomorrow! Book it, you'll not regret it. One or two reviews mention that there's no air conditioning and this is true. In April I really wouldn't have used this anyway, as it's so nice to sleep with all of the sliding terrace doors wide open. However, conversation with the maintenance guy suggests it's being installed over the course of this season. Simply one of the most relaxing holidays I've ever experienced. “Brilliant place would come back again”

Excellent place would recommend to anyone never been to gran canaria before now I don't want to leave buganvilla is the best place to stay the staff are fantastic and very helpful. The apartment was brilliant everything you need was there if it wasn't you only had to ask

Beautiful apartment with outstanding views, very friendly and clean, really enjoyed the private pool area and direct steps to the beach, loved every minute ❤️ The only negatives would be not enough hooks and coat hangers and a washing machine would have been useful

Enjoyed my stay at Buganvilla. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves each night was sublime, but there were a few downsides: Be warned there is very little parking in this area. The rooms are a little dated and could do with a lick of paint/wood varnish in places. The steps to and from the pool and beach are tiring but to be fair we were warned in advance. I don't know why there is no shade on the balcony as it gets very hot there. You get the bare minimumin terms of kitchen utensils. The area is not great for bars and restaurants at night time. Most seemed to be located in an old shopping centre at the back of the town. The pool area is lovely and very quiet. The beach is close by and lovely. I can see the attraction to this prooerty but I probably wouldn't stay again. The staff are nice.
