Just home from a short stay at this resort and was overall a nice holiday. On arrival there was an issue with our case from the shuttle service we used but Carmen the receptionist was as professional and polite and had our cases sorted out and in reception for our 3o,clock check in. Along with the other staff they made us feel very welcome from the start. The rooms were clean and serviced accordingly. Kitchen and bar staff were friendly and polite even when under pressure. Wide variety of food choices to cater for all,maybe a little bit more flavouring to the meats would improve the standard but overall there was plenty to choose from. Would most definitely return. I am a 23 year old woman who travelled alone and stayed for a week at this hotel. I was skeptical as some reviews were fantastic and some were 1 star due to theft and intruders but I had no issues like that. I took preventative measures with me (doorstop, extra lock, only had my room cleaned once as no need for more due to being on my own) Hotel - lovely, peaceful, huge, plenty of space, rooms clean and tidy, free of clutter, no kettle in room but fridge for water, beds comfy, balcony spacious for the 2 people the room was made for Food - good selection every meal time, always food available throughout the day from 08:00-22:30. I am gluten free so always struggle abroad due to limited options. I am always cautious too and just eat what I know is okay for me. Fresh salad every lunch time with paella and fresh grilled fish too along with fruit and potatoes/fries. Every evening meal had plenty of option too, meat, fish, vegetables, cheeses, salads, rices. The signs said you could ask about GF alternatives i.e. bread, pasta etc but I felt no need for this due to the vast array of other things that were available to me. I was always full and everything was tasty. Drinks - yes the spirits are watered down however that doesn't make them not nice. Amstel on tap self service as well as sangria and all 3 types of wine, they were all lovely. Soft drinks on tap were good too (machine by poor bar could be better as constantly had to wait for the drinks to "reload" as they stopped working every time I went up for about 30 seconds. The cocktails were not great that I tried, worst pina colada I've ever had but the spirits and mixers were lovely. And yes, if you drink enough, you can get drunk if you want to!!! Staff - front of house I found friendly and smiley, the bar staff were quite miserable and even though I smiled and tried to speak their language, they still didn't try to interact much or smile back. The dining room staff were friendly, smiley and chatty and so were the guys coming round to collect your cups by the pool. It was mainly the evening bar staff that weren't very nice Entertainment - The animation team worked really hard and were always super friendly and encouraging, I even got up to play a game, which I have never done before because it scared me but they were so lovely, I felt fine doing it. Th evening entertainment was decent, not the best but the singers that came in and the other external entertainment were really good in my opinion. Karaoke night was so much fun. Surroundings - I didn't actually leave the hotel so don't know what the surroundings were like as my week was purely to sunbathe but the beach looked lovely and a girl I met said there were a few shops not a long walk away Hotel grounds - Gym was good, cross trainer, bike and treadmill and worked a dream for me and the view is lovely. The shop on site was expensive but had everything you could need. I bought suncream, a magnet, an anklet and a cardigan so had everything I needed if you don't want to venture out. Sunbeds were available ALL throughout the day, no matter where or when. Overall, I had a lovely stay here. Yes, I have seen reviews about theft or intruders but I personally had no issues with this. I didn't leave anything of value out when I asked for my room cleaning and locked away my passport and purse when I did have it cleaned. It should be a given that things aren't taken but I always make sure to take measures to avoid these things because if you've never been somewhere before, you never know so its just easier to be on the safe side. It was a lovely holiday and I would definitely return. I felt safe and happy here which as a female FIRST TIME solo traveler, I couldn't ask for much more.
