Absolutely satisfied about this hotel. Although a big hotel we never got the feeling that it was overcrowded. - Hotel: situated directly at the beach. 24-hrs reception desk. Staff is multi-lingual - Amenities: Restaurant with wide choice of food/dishes. Tapas bar/resto with local food. Bar with the usual alcoholic drinks & cocktails. Several swimming pools (two are heated). Spa & fitness facilities. Children's playground. - Room: Big enough for family of 3. Daily cleaned. Minibar available if wanted (to be ordered). Flatscreen sat-TV. Balcony with partial sea-view. What we liked and appreciated most was the catching enthusiasm of the entertainment team. We especially would like to thank Julio, Nerea, Alba, Judith, Samuel, Joyce and all the others we forgot to make the holiday of us and foremost our daughter unforgettable!! To finalise: absolutely recommended!

We have been to Fuerteventura at least ten times over the last twenty years, usually for a winter sunshine break, and to date have always stayed at the same hotel -Melia Fuerteventura, Playa Sotavento, which clearly we have enjoyed. The hotel was unavailable this year due to refurbishment and so we thought we would try somewhere different. This turned out to be a great decision as the Iberostar Waves Playa Gaviotas proved to be an excellent alternative. Great location, wonderful vista, excellent accommodation and superb food and drink. Staff were extremely polite and helpful and the hotel itself exceptionally clean. My wife and I enjoyed our stay so much that we have definitely added Iberostar Waves Playa Gaviotas to our ‘return to’ list.

This was a departure from our usual choice of hotel as we generally go for bed & breakfast in a small resort with bars and restaurants. We only booked a week before we went so choice was limited. We chose the hotel based on previous reviews and price. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food which was amazing, with so much choice and changes daily to keep it interesting. The waiting staff were extremely efficient and friendly. Our room was clean and the mattress and pillows were comfy which was very welcome as we are quite fussy in this regard. The daily maid service was great and the room was always left spotless. This was the same for all common areas. There are different areas around the pool and as this is a lively and active hotel with various aqua fitness and childrens activities happening throughout the day, we chose a slightly quieter location further from the pool. You can always hear the music though but this didn't bother us. In the evenings we sat outside in the main bar. There was sometimes live singing which varied in standard but it wasn't too loud and intrusive so you could zone out if it wasn't to your taste. We didn't go to the main entertainment bar but it always seemed well attended. There is direct access to the lovely beach from the hotel and also a pedestrian path that takes you to the resort of Morro Jable but it is a bit of a walk. We hired a car from the airport for the week and went out a few times but there is not a huge amount to see on the island other than more beaches. All in all we were extremely pleased with our choice of hotel and we felt it was also great value for money when compared to some of the other hotels we considered at the time of booking.

A very good all inclusive family hotel. The good: - the recently renovated rooms are comfortable and nice. - great food, varied and with nice quality, loved the grilled meat and fish. - plentiful options for drinks - great views - good gym, recent machines, well equipped - great wifi, both speed and coverage - good service from the staff everywhere - good programme for the kids The points for improvement: - be aware that pools are not heated so water is quite cold during Feb-March season (one of the pools was also out of order for the duration of our stay) - the animation programme has decreased in quality compared with our previous stay here (there is enough bingo during the day not to add it to the evening programme as well 🙄) If one of the pools would have had a better water temperature I would have rated our stay 5 stars, it really is a very good option for a family holiday. Overall = 8,5/10
