I have never returned to the same hotel in all of my 45 years travelling, but we, a family are returning this year December 2024 to January 2025. This is the best 5 star hotel and resort that both my wife and I have ever experienced and our children (big now) whose ages range from 17 yo 23, were gobsmacked by the experience. Firstly and most importantly for most people, the food is excellent, the staff, chef's, managers could not be more helpful and nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the Teriyaki dining experience which had chosen wines for each course and the food was delicious. Being a very sporty family, we took part in all the activities, tennis, running, beach volleyball at midday, darts, gym, classes, and swimming. No excuse for being bored or to leave the resort. We met really nice people and a special shout to all the nice Germans that we met there. I always look for evening entertainment and this was super, varied and included rock bands, trapeze artists and songs from the shows. The new years ball was something else, it takes 3 month in planning and do not forget long trousers, and a shirt and tie Joe , Orla, John Joe, Patrick, Ciara, & Matthew from Ireland

We have returned from an excellent 7 day trip to the Iberostar Palace. I highly recommend this hotel with some relatively minor caveats. As has been said the food is excellent throughout- such diversity I’ve never seen in a hotel before. Fresh fish cooked to order, meat cooked to one’s liking and excellent salads & pasta dishes. The Christmas banquet was fantastic with luxurious items like lobster, crab & quail on the menu as well as the traditional turkey. Drinks were fantastic especially the wines and top shelf spirits. Japanese restaurant was a nice treat too. The pool area and pool bar were great and staff throughout were very helpful even if English language was not always available. We had interconnecting rooms which were perfect for 11 & 14 year old. Rooms were very clean and made up daily. The entertainment was varied and enjoyable for the most part- especially the Opera & musical nights The caveats include: The orientation on checking was completely absent - the hotel is a maze and it took us two days to understand the complete run of things. In addition how Towel system works was not explained. A map would be very useful. There is an online APP but it is very rudimentary and not so useful. Similar about activities - this could be made so much clearer & enhance the experience. For example, my wife asked at reception whether there was anything special for Christmas and was told not. However, Santa came for young kids & the Christmas cocktails & Grand Buffet were really appreciated. The pool was too cold which could be better in a 5 star resort. It is about 70 min taxi ride (approx 120Euro each way from airport) but we never needed a car whilst we were there-so worth it. The clientele are predominantly older & German with scattering of British & Spanish and there is limited activities for children- but our kids were ok to relax and brave the cold pool. Also they enjoyed the wonderful beech nearby. In summary, an excellent hotel to chill out and relax with top-notch food & service but that could be enhanced by better onboarding. We will return especially as we now know how to navigate everything.

Lovely hotel with great facilities , staff are so happy and friendly very attentive ! Room was great unfortunately beds were not very comfortable and pillows were old and lumpy ! Food was a very high standard as were drinks except the cocktails that were pre-made and not to a good standard ! Pool areas were amazing super comfy sun loungers and more than enough to go around a thought the pool was heated it was only heated to 24 c and was to cold to get in there sister hotel pools heated to far better temperature of between 26-29 and was only next door ,seems strange that the 5 star pools were cooler ! entertainment was varried and good , beach was lovely and on the doorsteps ! I would go again as it’s a great hotel maybe not in December as pools are not warm enough !

We had a 5 night stay at this hotel with family for the festive period. We were half-board. Welcome drink, greeting and check in was brilliant. They parked our hire car for us, Xmas decor was lovely and the hotel was very clean. Our room wasn't ready as we arrived a little early, so we were given a free lunch whilst we waited. The location was great as the beach was beautiful and close-by and not too busy and the pool facilities were very nice. However, this is NOT a 5 star hotel for the following reasons: 1. Previously Adult Only, so very limited facilities for children 2. No information on the hotel, it's facilities and the location was provided on check in 3. Rooms were very basic for a 5* 4. No room slippers, no sewing kit, no dental kit, no vanity sets etc. 5. Only 2 bathrobes, even though 3 adult occupancy 6. Furniture was very dated not well designed at all. 7. Only 2 blankets, even though 3 adult occupancy. No availability when requested. 8. No info on the mini bar or what is chargeable and the price. Coffee and nuts were charged for. No tea or kettle on offer either. 9. The Christmas dinner was not a Christmas dinner. It was just a carvery. No green vegetables, no brussel sprouts, no pigs in blankets, no stuffing, no roast root vegetables, no gravy. Considering alot of the guests celebrate Christmas this was poor. 10. Finally, it was very difficult to communicate with most staff due to the lack of English and German language skills.
