Holiday get away from UK winter! We booked a lazy beach holiday and that’s exactly what we got. Thanks to all the hard working staff at the Riu hotel. The hotel was exactly as described. Sea view rooms fantastic, spacious and clean. Staff work immensely hard cleaning, waiting and catering for guests. Yes there are a few steps to get to the beach, which wouldn’t suit less able or older less mobile people. But for most it’s an easy stroll! We did half board and there was plenty of food choice and it was all to a good standard. A little entertainment on at night, different singers etc or there are a few restaurants and bars in either direction of hotel.

We have been using the Riu Palace for many years now and we have high expectations based on our visits. It has never failed to deliver and excellent experience. The hotel is impressive and offers excellent food, drink and entertainment. We see people we know every visit, so the return rate is very high. As always thankyou to Jesus, Fran and his team, Manolo & Kiku, Angel, Aldo, Danny, Antonio and the team, the restaurant with David and Marisol, Vicky, Alex and their team. Apologies if I missed anyone but I could name dozens of staff who treat us like family. Fabulous experience and we will be back in March

Great location but beach access not as easy as it could be, the room was nicely furnished and modern, we upgraded to a sea view at a considerable extra cost but ended up with an intermittently noisy air conditioning unit above us ( room 1305) , not always a problem though . The food was good and lots to choose from although it wasn't always hot, great staff in the restaurant, Alex a really nice guy, Ben and Gustavo too, one gripe with the restaurant is long trousers only rule, many wearing tracksuit bottoms to comply, smart shorts look far better in my opinion, and where's the equality ? The pool area was very quiet and spacious, maybe some background music would improve the atmosphere. The evening entertainment was varied and overall very good, however Robert and Juliet were on almost every other day and while the other artists addressed the audience in German, English and Spanish, Robert only spoke German, somewhat excluding us Brits. I would recommend the hotel, as well as the neighbouring Calypso. The resort is lovely.

What could be the perfect relaxing beach hotel is let down by some penny-pinching annoyances. The rooms are equipped with safes, yet they charge €4 per day for their use. What could be the perfect relaxing beach hotel is let down by some penny-pinching annoyances. The rooms are equipped with safes, yet they charge €4 per day for their use. What 5-star hotel do you know that does that? (Or 4- or 3-star, for that matter?) Also, the bathroom "agua" is labelled "no potable" so you have to buy drinking water from the minibar. (Only the first night's is complimentary.) The location is wonderful, the service impeccable, so why do they spoil things? Other points: yes, there are a lot of stairs if you want to use the beach. If you don't, make sure you get a room in the main block, where all floors are served by lifts. But if you want a peaceful swim in the pool, choose an adults-only hotel instead. This one ought to suit you, but the pool rules (no balls, no inflatables) are not enforced.
