Our second visit to this outstanding hotel. The rooms, food and entertainment are all first class but are all second to the brilliant staff. Without exception they are all so friendly and professional and certainly go out of their way to make you feel special and add to the enjoyment of your holiday. We cannot fault them in any way. The staff we encountered last September were all still there which just proves what a wonderful place Riu Palace Jandia must be both to work and holiday. There is a big percentage of returning guests too. The hotel is spotless and the staff work tirelessly to make sure you are happy. There is only one tiny tiny gripe this time and that is the evening dress code. It is not made clear at all that long trousers are required at dinner (for men). It was slightly uncomfortable to be stopped on our first night at the restaurant and told about the requirement for long trousers. It was not an issue on our last visit. If this is a requirement then the hotel needs to make it clear via the booking agents. My husband and friend both dressed smartly for dinner every night in short sleeved collared shirts and tailored shorts. To be questioned about long trousers and then to see men in jeans and t shirts, and even denim shorts and a football t shirt, is somewhat annoying. Personally I dont think jeans should be classed as long trousers, and a t shirt does not compare to a smart shirt. As I say, just a tiny gripe but it needs addressing imo. It certainly wouldnt stop us from booking again - we cant wait to return - and this time will pack a pair of long trousers just in case!!

“CANNOT FAULT THIS HOTEL”

Five stars throughout, from the welcome to the staff, the food, and the goodbye!! The stunning spacious rooms on the front have a spectacular sea view, just like being on a five-star cruise ship!!! The welcome from the team at reception Manola (Bellman) is so friendly and helpful, and the lovely Pati at reception makes you feel special and like they are inviting you into their house!! I cannot fault this place. Its paradise that matches the amazing beach!

“Excellent friendly hotel”

My 6th stay at this hotel so definitely a fan. Everything is great. Food, rooms, position, even the entertainment is mostly good. Most of all the staff are so friendly and welcoming.

“Many stairs ! And welcome in Germany.”

Most important advise...if you have a problem with climbing stairs, don't ever book a seaview room...ask for a room in the main building. Most important advise...if you have a problem with climbing stairs, don't ever book a seaview room...ask for a room in the main building. Our room (seaview) was on the second level of the three levels of the seaview wing...first route to go to the restaurant : 55 stairs up to the pool area...than 10 stairs down to the lobby and then, finally, an elevator to take you one floor below or, use the 25 stairs down. Second route, even more stairs going down and up in a maze of corridors until you reach an elevator that takes you up (!) to the lobby. Furthermore, so many German guests, resulting in...all staff members, reception, waiters, restaurant waiters start talking to you in German and the evening entertainment...80+% German songs. Sure staff also speaks English, when necessary. The good things : Large, well equipped and superclean room with a large bathroom with walk inn shower and very good water pressure. All staff was very friendly, especially the waiters and housekeeping ! Food was very good...large selection and nice quality. Some issues : The in room TV set is not in front of the bed nor in front of the seat, impossible to move. Drink prices are rather steep. Comparing is the thief of joy... When we compare this hotel with the RIU Palace Maspalomas or the RIU Palace Meloneras this was the least of all three.
