We are mystified by some of the terrible reviews being written about this hotel. Having travelled to a great many countries and stayed in many different hotels, we consider this hotel to be very relaxing. Like all areas and hotels it depends what you are looking for. If you want lots going on it may not be the place for you, although there is entertainment here and a range of things to do: plenty of sun beds, swimming pools, plenty of space to walk, exercise or relax. If you want beautiful views in a quiet setting ,a good range of food and drinks , and a stunning beach you will be happy. This hotel is one of the few places we return to year after year. Apart from reliable weather, the area is peaceful , the buildings overlook the beautiful beach , and are well spaced out and pretty. The hotel is set in lovely well-tended gardens. Its public spaces are positioned on a variety of levels , while bedrooms are in small blocks that are easy on the eye. There are many places to sit and enjoy the view . The main areas are very well kept, clean and very pleasant , as are all the bedrooms that we have stayed in here. Rooms are simple but comfortable with a nice terrace or little garden area. Bathrooms are not the most up to date, but are clean and functional. The safes are free, there is good bedroom storage, comfortable beds and over six visits we have never had problems with noisy neighbours, poor cleaning or ill tempered staff! Every member of staff we have encountered has been friendly and hospitable. They try to meet requests with kindness and respect. This year we had a problem with the mini bar in our room which wasn’t working. It was replaced within a day and they checked to ensure that we didn’t need it urgently to store medication before replacing it the next morning. Recent improvements we have noticed and appreciated are the much improved Wi-Fi, now spread over the whole site rather than just in reception and much better vegan and vegetarian food now laid out in a clear area. Overall the quality of food has improved (in our opinion) as well as variety and presentation. The hotel has tried within the last year to update their system of wristbands to make it simpler. We would suggest an update to the paperwork guests are given would help avoid confusion, as it still currently refers to the previous system. However , the management clearly now try to give more options so that you can choose not just all -inclusive or premium, but also buy individual premium wines or spirits at a reasonable price if you want basic all-inclusive but with more flexibility when you feel like it. This seems to be a genuine attempt to respond to what guests wish for. Overall this is a lovely relaxing hotel with special staff and a spectacular setting. We will certainly return next year. It is also very good value for money for an all inclusive stay. Thanks to all the staff who work to make it so special.
