I’ve just returned from a wonderfully relaxing 7-night stay at the H10 Tindaya. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth and efficient, with friendly staff who quickly got us settled into our room. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, with air-con that kept things comfortably cool. The bathroom was a highlight, featuring a lovely rainfall shower along with a second showerhead for convenience. The balcony, though only offering a side sea view, was perfectly adequate considering the cost of the stay. The outdoor facilities were excellent, especially the pools. I particularly enjoyed the heated top pool, which was perfect for a relaxing swim during the warm days. There were plenty of loungers available at all times, so there was no need to rush down in the morning to secure one. Access to the beach was straightforward—just a quick walk down some stairs. Whether you’re looking to enjoy the sea or take a peaceful stroll, it’s all right there. We especially loved morning walks along the beach before breakfast. A heads-up: there are some rocky sections between parts of the beach, so bringing a pair of trainers is a good idea for added comfort. The food was what you’d expect from a buffet on a holiday—perfectly decent with a range of options. Drinks were self-service on the All-Inclusive package, which worked well for us. The wine was quite nice for holiday standards, and the bar drinks were a pleasant surprise, offering branded spirits—something that’s rare but very much appreciated. Evening entertainment was enjoyable, with a mix of acrobats, singers, and dancers. It was great to see these performances returning, especially after the disruptions caused by Covid. The reason I’ve given the stay 4 stars instead of 5 is that, after visiting this hotel five years ago, some areas are starting to feel a little dated. That said, this didn’t detract significantly from the overall experience. All in all, it was a very relaxing week filled with lounging, reading, and exploring the beautiful surroundings.

After a dismal stay at the H10 in Lanzarote a few months ago, I decided to give the chain another go at the Tindaya. I wish I hadn't. Overall, the hotel is nice enough and it never really felt crowded in December when I visited. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but the hotel did call me bang on 3pm to let me know that my room was ready and we were invited to enjoy lunch whilst we waited. Where this hotel does win, are the rooms. My room felt modern and other than the wifi being dreadful and air conditioning being ineffective, everything else seemed ok. The hotel does charge 20 Euro a week to use the room safe but they're not only chain in the Canaries to do this. The food was great also, with a lot of it being freshly heated up in front of you. The things that really got my goat however were: - the staff annual party with their staff screeching outside my room until nearly 2am. I mentioned it to the night porter on reception but he didn't really care. Neither did the receptionist next day - the reasoning behind this was "it's only once a year" - bizarre logic - due to said staff party, we were shooed out of the restaurant at 2125 (they first started telling us to hurry up and finish at 2110) - very unprofessional - Mike's coffee bar is painfully slow because it is chronically understaffed. Readers should also note that they open in the evenings but with a severely limited menu. - Service at the bar is also very slow, again because they simply don't have enough staff - On one occasion, my room was cleaned but they didn't replace the towels - great to experience when you've just got out of the shower! Halfway through our stay, the hotel, without prior notice, decided to change their wristband system so we all got an email telling us to go change our wristbands. In any other country, they'd have implemented this without guest inconvenience. In our case, they could have just left it until all of the old wristbands were collected as guests inevitably checked out, but no, the staff had been told to swap them over and that was that. As part of the wristband swap, one of our group received a list of other guests and their room numbers by email which for anyone unaware is a terrible breach of EU GDPR regulations. We mentioned it to the receptionist but she was only really interested in changing our wristbands! Check out experience was a good example of how the staff are not trained to sort issues out. She insisted that I had eaten a "mini muffin" at Mike's coffee bar, which I had not. It's one of the few things that are not inclusive, even to all inclusive guests as I was. When I insisted I was not responsible for the 1.75 Euro, it seemed to throw her. It was as if the whole H10 Group would collapse because someone needed to cover the 1.75. I then handed my towel back to her, as per the required regulations (hand your pool towel card or towel back or they charge for it). When I handed it back she said "I cannot take this from you, you must drop it in the return drawer". I asked where that was and she said "it's here", pointing to the drawer literally under reception. Just endless bureaucratic nonsense. At the end of the day, if you're happy with taking whatever the hotel gives, you'd probably leave feeling happy. However, it was the complete and utter indifference and total lack of interest from any of the staff, particularly receptionists that irritated me. It was only when I asked to complete a "Hojas de Recalamaciones" that the hotel actually sat up and started to talk sensibly to me. The form is a legal requirement that the hotel must give you if you ask for it - it is a formal way of logging your complaint in Spain. As it happened, the hotel compensated me in return for me not filing a formal state Hojas de Recalamaciones - but it shouldn't have had to come to this in the first place. I find hotel service generally in the Canaries to be pretty lousy but this hotel particularly was hard work.

The hotel doesn't quite meet the standard of its 4 star rating. Yes the hotel has a plethora of amenities and facilities to achieve it's 4 star rating, but is let down by insufficient staffing levels and tired uncomfortable fixtures and fittings. The hotel ticks boxes to obtain 4 star without providing what is needed to make it a comfotable stay. The beds are uncomfortable, as are the pillows. Spoke to other guests who concere. The rooms are a mixed lot. All are roughly the size. Most rooms appear to be 2 bedrooms. The rooms are dark inside during the day. Unless on the top floor. Some on the 2nd floor are below ground level from what the balcony views. The restaurants in general serve lukewarm food. The selection of food is limited. The slow toasting machine (5 passes to brown) only worked 2 days during our week stay. Tables are cleared slowly, due to lack of staff levels. The staff are not sluveny; just overworked. The pool areas are very good; however only one pool is heated. The best way to sum up this hotel is the disabled toilet at the privilege pool. A low seat tucked into a corner with no grap rails. However, another box ticked. In my opinion any stay away whether in a bed and breakfast establishment or a 5 star hotel should be incumbent on a good night's sleep and decent food. This hotel does provide this. If you do still want to stay at this hotel, go privilege rooms. Ps don't use the cashpoint machine in the hotel. Wanted €50 for airport. £4.80 charge to do so. Also be wary of the shop. A €21.50 sale and the assistant entered €215.00 into card reader.

So this is my first sunshine holiday away for nearly 10 yrs and after the lockdowns of covid so was really looking forward to it. The hotel itself looks amazing on arrival and the staff are amazing on reception. Check in was super easy. The room was good yet basic, tv was broken and couldn’t get any channels but I was on holiday so figured I wouldn't need it. Bed comfy, plenty of pillows, AC fantastic but room has a few scuffed mark around. As have the corridors what also have a “Spanish” finish. The pool is lovely and plenty of Sun loungers this time of year. Entertainment team always trying to get you included even a bit over the top sometimes. Now to the food - don’t bother with all inclusive. As said before it’s lukewarm at best for what’s cooked, items left out for hrs on end, no sanitiser about for hands and at peak times it’s a scrum. I would agree a works canteen at best and cooking is average. Three of the family also came down with dodgy tummy’s and not being drinkers this can only be from one place at a guess. If you enjoy waiting for the next pizza to come out fresh or chips and running to grab it or living on toast for days before your 4 hr flight home - Bon appitite! Oh the evening bar staff can be rude - ignoring you while chatting among themselves and then banging you glass down infront of you. Great hotel, nice location, good in main areas, rooms could be a bit better looked after and food - watch your guts!
