“Excellent hotel.”

This hotel catered for us extremely well. The area is well known to us. We had absolutely no complaints. Our room was kept extremely clean by housekeeping. All staff helpful and respectful. The food was spot on as befitting the hotel. A beautiful week awy.

3rd visit to Playa Esmeralda H10 and another great holiday. With a sandy beach just a short walk away as well as a beautiful swimming pool this hotel offers a great location. The staff are really friendly and eager to help in any way. There is a choice of restaurants with a great variety of excellent food . As an adult only hotel the Playa Esmeralda offers a great relaxing holiday atmosphere especially if you enjoy the spa pool and treatments.

I went to celebrate my birthday and had a lovely time. The best part and I gave 5* because of the entertainer WAJDI, he was the best and my mum really enjoyed games, morning exercises and especially dancing with Wajdi, only because of him we would come back again . Also Diego was very funny and good, the waiter at the restaurant Ibrahima was amazing. Some staff were very polite and helpful. Rooms are clean and big, beds and pillows were very comfortable and slept well every night. As I said we enjoyed the live music and dancing at the pool bar . The food was ok but not a lot to choose from, we liked pool bar food a lot better. Drinks were very good. Pool was a little bit cold but the beach was amazing and very close to the hotel. There were not many shops around. Over all we all enjoyed my birthday and a week stay at the hotel.

“Great hotel a little out of the way”

This hotel is about 45 mins drive from the airport probably 1 hour by coach. Great hotel, it is at the southern end of Costa Calma so little out of the way if you don't have a car, but taxies can take you into the town, not as there is a great deal there. Check in was smooth and efficient but we arrived separate from any coaches so not sure who quick it would be in you used the holiday company transport. The reception is on the 5th floor which is also the location of the main bar and lounge. Most of the rooms are down from this Our room was a junior suite with sea view very nice spacious actually a lot of it was empty space, the room sort of Pizza wedge shaped wide at the entrance and narrower at the balcony though still enough rooms for two loungers, two chairs and a table. Bathroom with walk in shower, reasonable amount of wardrobe space, as this was a suite there were two dressing tables so plenty of drawer space The room had a safe, a coffee machine with pods and a fridge in the room. Unfortunately, not a kettle so could not make tea in the room Beds were 2 large singles pushed together, good lighting in the room, a TV in the bedroom and the sitting room though we never used them. On arrival there was a litre bottle of water in the room, this was not replenished but there were machines at the bars and in the dining room that dispensed filtered water so not an issue. Food was generally good, food counters were not over loaded which means the food was regularly refreshed. Around the main dining room there were stations providing hot food cooked whilst you wait. Main courses were varied but the deserts were a little repetitive. In the dinning room after the first couple of meals we noticed that one corner seemed to be far better serviced than the rest of the main hall this was down to the person tending the table, Ibrahima he worked tirelessly was always pleasant and attentive. This was noticeable on the Thursday when he was on a day off then the service whilst still acceptable it was not quite to the same standard. We had booked all inclusive and please to find that drinks included a selection of international brands. The Pool bar served food through the middle of the day which was standard sort of fair. In the evenings there was music in the main bar from around 8 to around 9 or 9:30 mix reviews on this, some where good others not quite so. The pool bar had entertainment from around 9 until 10ish again mixed reviews, some we loved others where questionable. One big difference between the two bars in the evening. The main bar upstairs had plenty of staff and waiters where the pool bar tended to be undermanned and this meant quite a wait to be served at the bar. In a hotel where all the staff where always polite and helpful, as some have commented in earlier reviews the default language seems to be German but we never had a problem being understood speaking English. The main block was served by two central lifts though there were others in the wings I don’t thing they served all floors. As you move from the main block towards the beach you probably need to drop 5 or six floors, there are ramps or stairs going down not so bad though coming back was a little more strenuous. Unlike many hotels we have stayed at in the Canaries the ramps appeared to be manageable though personally I would not wish to push someone back from the beach to the pool up them, you would need to be reasonably fit to begin with. Hotel opens direct onto the beach, but if you have difficulty walking be aware there are a number of steps and some are a little rickety. The beach is a small bay, at low tide you can walk easily to the adjoining bays. We never saw the beach crowded, it offers some shelter from the wind and there are loungers available to hire. Its not a private bay people were staying in campervans alongside the hotel. As is normal for this region the beach had a mixture and clothed and unclothed sunbathers spread across the whole bay no segregation as found on some beaches. During our time there the waves were quite strong. Walking into the sea was not easy if you are unsteady to begin with on your feet. Late October and once you had got over the initial shock the sea temperature was actually quite pleasant. The hotel has a couple of shops one in the main block and one by the exit to the beach didn’t go in either so cant say what they offer. Would we go back? Yes most probably.
